Levi X Reader A mission worth dying for

Chapter 54

I let out a loud scream as pain filled through my body. She wasn't biting as hard as I was expecting. Hesitant? I felt my bone cracking and blood seeping through her teeth.

"M-Mother...! You are not a monster... Remember... Remember what you were! Remember who your family is! Remember your name... D-Dina... Fritz.... Yeager..." I was muttering and holding onto my shoulder. I felt the bone roll out of it's socket. At this rate my entire arm will be ripped off. There was no way I was going to get out of this with my arm.

"(y/n)!!!" Yelled out a familiar voice. I turned my head and saw Eren with Mikasa on his back, and next to them stood Levi. They noticed I was trapped in the jaws of a titan. Levi drew his blades and made his way towards her.

"No! Stay back! Don't kill her!!" I begged, as tears continued to spill. The three looked shocked.

"This monster is responsible for eating my mother alive! This thing deserves to die!!" Eren bellowed.

"I don't care! People die every day! Titans don't eat humans because they want to, alright? Believe me! Please don't kill her!" I begged.

"Her?"

"PLEASE DON'T KILL MY MOTHER!!" I cried. Everyone froze.

"Your... mother...?" Levi muttered. I clenched my jaw and looked back at my arm. She wasn't budging, and I noticed her eyes were shaking. I pulled out one of my blades. I need to cut it off, besides it'll grow back. I began stabbing at my arm. Blood spat out each time. Some splattered on my face. Levi ran over and wrapped his arms around my shoulders and be began pulling.

The pain was overwhelming. I thought I was going to pass out. Seeing so much blood made me want to puke. I squeezed my eyes shut and wished the pain to be over. Before I knew it, I felt something release from me. I stumbled back but remained standing due to Levi holding onto me. I opened one eye and saw my arm was gone.

"Ah...! M-My arm...!" I began to panic but remembered why it was gone. I looked over at my mother and noticed she was chomping down and swallowing my arm.

The pain of my fresh wound began spilling blood and half of my clothes were now soaked. Levi sat me down and took my jacket off. He began tying my shoulder up to slow down the bleeding, but he realized it was unnecessary because my arm began growing back and at a faster pace.

"Are you alright?" Levi asked, as he wrapped his arm around my shoulders, helping me stand up.

"Y-Yeah... I should be..." I replied, as I stared at my mother's titan. I looked over and noticed Eren's eyes were full of hate and seek revenge.

Before I could say something, a gust of titan steam came from the titan's body. I looked over and the whole body was enveloped in steam. Is it working? Is my experiment working?! Levi stepped forward and shielded me with his body. Luckily the steam wasn't hot.

"What's going on?"

I squinted my eyes and looked carefully, realizing I was seeing a silhouette of a human. I let out a gasped and I rushed over.

"Stop!" Levi called out. I ran over and what laid before me had me astonished. I saw the shape of a woman with blonde hair that reached her shoulders. I stood there in shock. I haven't seen this woman in twenty years and now she lays before me. I crouched down and placed my hand on her shoulder.

"Mother. Mother!" I called out. She twitched a little and her eyes opened. She slowly pushed herself up with my assistance. Her body was emitting small amounts of steam. "Mother! Mother!" I called out, as I covered her body with the cape. She slowly looked at me and stared at me for a moment.

"(y...y...y...n)...? (y/n)...?" She muttered. Hearing her say my name made my heart pound. It's been so long since I heard the sound of her voice, it made me remember my childhood.

"Mother..." I cried, as tears streamed down, and a smile appeared on my face. Mother looked at me with a sad expression, and tears streamed down her face.

"(y/n)... My... My daughter..." She cried. She caressed my cheek which made me sob even more. I cupped her hand and held it close to me. "You've grown up so much... You are so beautiful..." She murmured.

"Mother... I missed you so much... I'm sorry... I'm so sorry I left you... That you suffered this long..." I cried. Mother pressed her forehead against mine and giggled under her breath.

"My dear, as long as you were alive and safe, I wouldn't care what happened to me. You are so strong..." Mother stroked my hair and noticed the blood on me. Her face twisted with guilt and she noticed half my arm was gone. "I-I did that... didn't I?"

I felt my heart sink. She probably doesn't remember a lot.

"I'm so glad I finally have you back after all these years." I cried. I pulled her into a tight hug, feeling my hand growing back. Mother wrapped her arms around me and we both cried a little.

"(y/n)... Getting to see you one last time..." She murmured. She didn't finish her sentence which grabbed my full attention. I moved back, and her body was slouching on mine. My heart began pounding and my body began trembling.

"Mother...?" I murmured. She remained unresponsive. I shook her a little, but her head dropped on my shoulder. "Mother!!!" I cried. She let out a small groan.

"Y-You... You have to save everyone... save... yourself..." She murmured.

"What do you mean? Mother?" She didn't respond. "No! I just got you back! After twenty years, I saved you! I can't lose you now! Not when I'm so close to the truth! Mother!!!" I cried. I checked her pulse and I felt nothing.

Why...? Why did she die? I saved her... She shouldn't have died... No... No... No!!
