Sebastian and Rachel One Shots (Smytheberry)

124. Beauty is in the eye of the heart

Sebastian was a married man, no-one in his law firm office but Thad knew that. Sebastian knew of Santana's, Quinn's and Mercedes attraction to him, but Sebastian was not only married but he loved his wife Rachel. They had been together for a long time, they met in College where he was studying Law and she was studying business. Rachel had been studying business after her flop of a tv show and she was lost. Rachel is grateful for Sebastian every day, and she knows about all the woman attention her husband gets at his law firm. 

Santana, Quinn and Mercedes all dreamed of getting his attention. Whenever Quinn walks into his office with a coffee she makes point of leaving over his desk, and speaks flirtatiously 

"Here is your coffee Mr. Smythe." it always makes Sebastian uncomfortable when she does so. Sebastian ignores her. He is loyal to Rachel, always have been and always will be. When it was lunch time, Sebastian walked out of his office to meet his wife Rachel, as he walked out he past Santana who stopped in front of him and asked

"Mr. Smythe, would you like to join us for lunch?" Sebastian was frustrated, it happened every single day, and he was late meeting Rachel. Sebastian politely declined and said

"No thanks, I'm in a hurry." Sebastian then left work to have lunch with Rachel leaving a devastated Santana. As he walked outside to the parking lot, he was stopped by Mercedes like always, she smiled sweetly at him and said

"I think we are headed in the same direction, will you please give me a ride?" Sebastian was tired of it, and said

"Sorry, that's not possible." Sebastian then walked past her to his car, and drove to meet Rachel at her work. He walked inside her work office, kissed her cheek as he put his arms around her surprising her with flowers and her favourite food and coffee for lunch and said

"Sorry I'm late Pretty Girl." Sebastian sat in the empty seat next her at her desk and Rachel turned to face him as she accepted the food and she said

"It's okay Sebby, I understand, I know it's hard to leave your office everyday when you have those girls around you, who will do anything to get with you. Just remember you are the boss of the firm with your best friend, you and Thad have the power to do anything you want in that firm, and fire anyone in that firm too." Sebastian leaned forward and kissed Rachel deeply and said

"You Broadway are a genius." Sebastian sat back in his chair, with Thad on speaker phone and told him and Rachel his idea.

Meanwhile Santana, Mercedes and Quinn were having lunch and talking about Sebastian and how to get his attention. Quinn folded her arms and said

"Why isn't he paying attention to any of us?" Mercedes shrugged her shoulders at Quinn and said

"Maybe he doesn't like any of us?" Santana scoffed at Mercedes and said

"That's impossible. Look at us. We will catch his attention one way or another." Quinn and Mercedes agreed with Santana.

The next day when Santana, Quinn and Mercedes walked in the office building they were surprised to see a new girl sat a desk working with them. Rachel turned in her seat, smiled at the girls who hit on her husband and said

"Hello, I'm Rachel, I'm a new employee." Santana, Quinn and Mercedes couldn't believe their eyes that someone like Rachel was working with them. 

On Rachel's first week, no-one but Thad took her seriously, which was okay for Rachel as she was only there temporarily to help Sebastian with getting Santana, Quinn and Mercedes to back off. As she sat her desk working she heard what the others were saying

There's nothing special about her,

She's nothing but a grey mouse with zero personality

And Rachel knew they were still after her husband, everything changed and worried Rachel the most when Sebastian walked over to her and started talking to her and making plans to meet up for lunch and telling her personally about the work party he was planning in the future weeks. 

Them talking didn't go unnoticed to Quinn, Santana and Mercedes. Mercedes was angry and she said

"I wonder what they are talking about. He doesn't like that to anyone but Thad." They were even more angry when all Sebastian ever did was pay attention to Rachel. Sebastian was more at ease and comfortable with having Rachel with him at work. Sebastian smiled lovingly at Rachel as they sat in comfortable eating. 

Santana folded her arms at the scene and said

"I'll show her." and for the entire next week not only did Sebastian and Thad hire Rachel permanently, but Santana, Quinn and Mercedes made Rachel's life hell. Quinn snarkily looked at Rachel and said

"Have you seen yourself in a mirror?" Rachel was confused, and Quinn continued

"You have no chance with him." It's when Rachel realised that Quinn was talking about Sebastian. Rachel softly spoke to them and asked

"Whatever do you mean?" Santana then spoke rudely before Quinn could reply

"He's a not a match for you. He's a ten and you're a four at best." If only they knew Rachel thought. She didn't want to get involved so she just walked away to do her job. 

by the morning break Rachel was covered in her coffee thanks to Quinn who bumped into her and made it seem like it was Rachel's fault and said

"Watch where you are going." Rachel was shocked at what had happened. She couldn't believe what had happened, and she couldn't believe that her husband and best friend could work with such people. The next day when Rachel was looking through her paper work, she couldn't find her report for Sebastian. Rachel was nervous to ask Santana for it but she had no choice, and as she asked Santana said

"Try the trash." By the end of that very day Rachel went over to the coat rack to get her jacket to go home, and to her dismay it was the ground, and she knew that it could have only been those rude girls or at least one of them, she looked up as she picked it up and saw Mercedes standing over her. Rachel sighed as she stood up picking up her jacket in the process and left. When she got home she hugged Sebastian tightly softly crying and said

"I can't do this. I can't put up with them anymore." Sebastian hugged Rachel tight as she explained everything to him. Sebastian knew what to do, he kissed Rachel's temple and said

"Tomorrow is the work party, and you my lovely wife are my date, and I plan to not only spoil you but to show you off and introduce to everyone as my wife." Rachel relaxed in Sebastian's arms as she was excited about that, but she also worried and was a little scared of those girls. 

The following day at the Firm's work party while Santana, Quinn and Mercedes were waiting for Sebastian arrive to try and get his attention, they were all shocked when they saw Sebastian walk in with Rachel on his arm. Sebastian smiled at everyone as he walked in with Rachel in his arm and said

"I have decided to introduce you all to my wife, and show you all that my heart is indeed taken." Santana, Quinn and Mercedes were all quiet, and Sebastian continued

"I love my wife, and to me she's the most amazing and beautiful woman in the world. I would also like to remind you girls that beauty isn't always with the eyes, but rather the heart, and you can't hide an evil mean heart under fashionable clothes and makeup." As he said that Santana, Quinn and Mercedes were devastated and hurt by Sebastian's words as he and Rachel walked away, but Sebastian didn't care because he had Rachel, and he loved her, and he loved her heart and he made everyone excluding Thad, who seemed better and above everyone feel ashamed and guilty.
