Sebastian and Rachel One Shots (Smytheberry)

145. Mistletoe Magic- part 1

It was the Christmas holidays, and Sebastian was laid on his bed in the dorm that he shared with his best friend Thad thinking about all the Christmas traditions that he grew up with in Paris as he wished more than anything that he could share them with Rachel but he knew he couldn't because of her being with Finn.

As he was thinking about them and thinking about his love Rachel, his phone had chimed signalling he had a message. He reached over to his nightstand, and saw the message from his father telling him to be ready and over to their place by 6pm because of the christmas party that was happening. Sebastian knew by that text it was his family's turn to host the firm's Christmas party.

He sighed and stood up from his bed to get ready to go to his parents house and wished that he could bring Rachel with him.

Once he arrived at their house, he was greeted with the smell of his mum Nathalie's home made cooking, all the French foods that made him feel right at home and the smell of his dad Charle's home made egg nog which of course Sebastian wasn't allowed to have.

Sebastian smiled at the two singing in the kitchen as they do their preparations for the party, and he knew that it meant he was on the Christmas decorations. Sebastian came across some mistle toe, and was undecided if he should hang it up or not.

As he looked at the plant in his hand, he heard

"Just put it up Seb?" He sighed at his dad

"You sure you want it up dad. It looks a little old. Not sure there is any christmas magic in it." Charles walked over to Sebastian, took the mistle toe from his hands and placed it back in the garage as if to make Sebastian he threw it out, and he walked back and said

"Don't worry we won't hang it up, I placed it back in the garage out of the way." Sebastian was unsure as his dad walked away back to the kitchen. Sebastian thought about kissing Rachel under it, and then sneakily walked to the garage to take the mistle toe, and placed it in his pocket.

A while later when everyone arrived Sebastian was immediately followed around by Claire. The rich daughter of the his dad's former business partner and the cousin to Jeffery Sterling. Sebastian was beginning to feel uncomfortable with Clarie and was about to tell her to leave him alone when all of a sudden he felt an arm wrap around his own while taking his hand, kissing his cheek and a voice

"Sorry I'm late babe. My dads got stuck in traffic." Sebastian knew the voice. It was Rachel.

Rachel saw from the distance of how uncomfortable Claire was making Sebastian and Rachel knew she had to take matters into her own hands to save Sebastian from her.

Sebastian was thankful to Rachel and said

"It's okay Love. I'm just glad that you're here now." He kissed her cheek which made Claire them both. Sebastian sighed in relief while reluctantly taking his hand from Rachel's.

"Thank you for that Broadway." Rachel gave a small smile

"You're welcome. And you looked really uncomfortable with her. So I had to do something." Sebastian nodded his head and said

"Thanks again. And anyway what are you doing at my parents office Christmas party and you look great by the way." Rachel smiled and said

"Thanks, you look great too and as for your question my dad Leroy works with your dad and is also the business partner with your dad, he started at the firm at the start of the year, and your dad was really impressed with my dad and offered him the position of being his business partner. But my dad wanted to make sure that they kept the name Smythe as to make sure that you are still taking over from your dad. He doesn't want to do anything to jeopardise that opportunity happening." Sebastian was shocked at what Rachel had said but on the inside he was happy as it meant he got to see Rachel a lot more. He gave a smile and said

"Well welcome, want me to show you around?" Rachel nodded her head and said

"Sure."

Sebastian lead Rachel throughout the house, and they stopped outside his bedroom.

"Since the party is getting boring, did you want to watch a Christmas movie together?" Sebastian then whispered in her ear

"I have alcohol." Rachel thought about it and said

"Okay, but only one glass" Sebastian took Rachel's hand and lead her in his room and shutting the door so noone disturbed them and so Claire wouldn't look for them.

Sebastian, then walked to his walk in wardrobe, took out two wine glasses and a bottle of wine from his drawer and even quickly hung up the mistle toe just inside, in hopes there was at least a little bit of magic in the old mistletoe.

He walked out and handed her a glass as he sat down on his bed with her to watch the movie.

Sebastian softly asked

"How are you and Finn and the wedding planning going?" Rachel made a face and said

"There is no wedding. He and I broke up two months ago because he cheated on me with Quinn." Sebastian was shocked and wanted to punch to him, and Rachel continued

"But it's okay, I'm over him and what's ironic is that Quinn kept telling me to dump him. Now I know why she did" Sebastian took the glass from her hand and placed it on the nightstand next to his and took her hand

"It's his loss, and she's evil." They felt a little awkward, and he saw her shiver a little and Sebastian quickly said

"Would you like one of my jackets, you can pick which one you want?" Rachel softly spoke

"Okay." Sebastian stood up, took her hand and lead her to his wardrobe where they stopped and stared at each other.

Rachel saw a look in Sebastian's eyes that she had never seen before and she will admit that she had feelings for him, Sebastian was the reason Rachel was able to move on.

Rachel then looked up and saw the mistletoe

"Mistletoe. It's tradition." Sebastian placed his hand on Rachel's cheek and leaned forward to kiss her.
