Sebastian and Rachel One Shots (Smytheberry)

158. Arranged- part 2

When Sebastian and Rachel sat back down in their seats, both of them felt awkward, and it was then revealed why Sebastian and Rachel were arranged to be married. It was because Hiram Berry and Charles Smythe wanted to merge families for the sake of the firm. Sebastian was shocked and angry at his parents but Rachel wasn't surprised because all her life it was Hiram that controlled every aspect of her life and she and her dad Leroy went along with it. Sebastian stood up, took Rachel's hand and left his parents place. 

Sebastian drove and drove around, and Rachel said

"Where are we going Sebastian?" Sebastian relaxed a little and said

"Anywhere far from our parents. I'm sorry your dads made you get engaged to me." Rachel shook her head and said

"Don't worry about it Sebastian, and my dad Leroy he wouldn't have accepted or liked the idea at first, he would have only went along with it for the sake of my dad Hiram, everything for me would have been because of him not my dad Leroy." Sebastian was shocked at what Rachel had said, and he then made the decision to go to Thad's place he has away from Dalton.

"Your dad shouldn't be doing that." Rachel shrugged her shoulders and said

"It doesn't matter he always does it. Also where are we going by the way?" Sebastian glanced at Rachel and then at the road and said

"Thad's place. He has an apartment away from Dalton. He has it because he can't stand Hunter's girl after girl antics." Rachel gave a small smile at him. Rachel was happy that she was away from her dad Hiram and his controlling ways. Rachel looked at the ring as Sebastian parked the car outside of Thad's apartment complex.

"It's my grandmother's, I wanted to use a different ring to ask you, but my mother didn't want me to and said i should save it for our wedding day and use her mum's ring. But I know you, you would have much preferred the ring i wanted to give you, not the on your finger." Rachel was confused and curious as she got out of Sebastian's car and walked to Thad's door and said

"What ring did you want to give me?" Sebastian gave a small smile

"My Warbler ring. You would have loved it more, I know you would have." Rachel gave a smile and said

"I really would have." Sebastian looked at the ring on her finger and then at Rachel

"You don't have to wear it if you don't want to." Rachel looked at him and said

"I know but I want to wear it." Sebastian's heart began to race and he nervously said

"Y-you know that would mean you and I are engaged right?" Rachel nodded her head as they reach Thad's door

"I know it does." She and Sebastian walked in and Sebastian started to wonder if his feelings for her aren't one sided at all.

Thad let them in his place and gave them a little tour of his apartment, as he did he noticed Rachel had a ring on her finger and Sebastian not being able to keep his eyes off her. Thad pulled Sebastian aside to an empty room not knowing that Rachel was listening in.

"What is going on, and why does Rachel have a ring on her finger?" Sebastian sighed and said

"It's complicated Harwood. so just drop it." Thad folded his arms and said

"Dude I wasn't born yesterday. I know your parents arranged for it, because you told me about it and she's still wearing a ring that I assume you gave her." As he said that he realised what was going on. Thad took one step back and said

"You love her. You love Rachel." Sebastian placed his hand on Thad's mouth and said

"Keep it down, she doesn't know Harwood."

What Sebastian and Thad didn't know was that Rachel heard everything, and gave a smile to herself that Sebastian loved her, and she knew she was making the right choice with keeping Sebastian's engagement ring on her finger.

Later that night when Thad went out to meet Hunter, Blaine, Nick, Jeff and Trent. it was only Rachel and Sebastian in Thad's apartment with Rachel in the living room and Sebastian in the room he's sleeping laying on the bed reading. Rachel couldn't get Sebastian's and Thad's conversation out of her head. She looked towards the open door of the room where she knew Sebastian was, and her mind kept thinking of scenarios of them dating and their engaged life because technically they are engaged. Rachel stood up and walked to the room.

She walked in and closed the door behind her and locked it as well, which made Sebastian look up from his book. He was confused and curious at why Rachel was in the room, and said

"Streisand what are you doing?" Rachel didn't say anything until she got closer to Sebastian's bed. She placed the book on the night stand and she finally spoke without looking away from Sebastian

"I'm experimenting." Sebastian was more confused until he felt a pair of lips on his own. Sebastian pulled her close to him and kissed her back.

He pulled her to the bed, and rolled over on top of her where they continued making out, and in their hearts they knew what they wanted, they wanted to be with each other. When they pulled apart the kiss for air. Rachel breathlessly said

"I heard yours and Thad's conversation. And I love you too." Sebastian smiled widely at what Rachel had said and she continued

"And the reason I won't take the ring off, is because I want to be engaged to you." Sebastian kissed her and said

"Then please let me do this right." Rachel nodded her head and said

"Of course." Sebastian then sat up, took off Rachel's ring, and placed it on the night and he then took off his warbler ring and asked her once more

"Will  you marry me?" Rachel nodded her head as Sebastian placed the ring on her finger and she kissed him. When the pulled apart the kiss once more, Rachel looked at him and said

"I know we were arranged at first but this is better and it's on our terms too." Sebastian pecked her lips and said

"It is."

Rachel laid in Sebastian's arms, wondering what they would do now. All she knows is that if or when she and Sebastian have kids, they can love whoever they want to, and won't be arranged with other people at all. 

"I am sorry that our parents arranged for us to marry without our consent." Rachel sighed contently and said

"Don't be, because if it wasn't for them, we might not be here with each other. All I know is that if or when we have kids, they can love whoever they want to and not be arranged at all." Sebastian kissed her hair and said

"Agree." 

Sebastian and Rachel may have started because of an arrangement from their parents especially Charles and Hiram but somewhere along the way they fell in love and Sebastian proposed to Rachel once more but on his terms and with his Warbler ring.
