Sebastian and Rachel One Shots (Smytheberry)

21. Defending him

Rachel was sitting in the Lima Bean with Kurt, going through a wedding magazine for her wedding with Finn, on the outside she was excited, but deep down she was worried that everyone around her was right, that she was too young to marry.

They were going through a wedding magazine when Sebastian Smythe entered, and saw them. When he got closer he said

"if it isn't old Betty White, and a young Barbra Streisand." Rachel and Kurt looked up and saw him. Kurt was annoyed by his presence but Rachel was a little excited to see him. Before they could say anything, Sebastian handed her an envelope and said

"Congratulations on your engagement Rachel, here is my engagement present." Rachel had grabbed the envelope and opened it, and saw a photoshopped photo of Finn. Kurt was mortified and Rachel had to pretend to be annoyed by the picture, but deep down she found it funny, and Sebastian saw the fake annoyance.

She quickly had to cover the photo, and when she looked up to say something Sebastian had walked away. Rachel put the photo back in the envelope, and Kurt and Rachel walked to glee, where Kurt showed everyone the photo. Rachel was annoyed by the overreaction of the photo.

She saw it as friendly competition rivalry, because she is the exact same, she sent sunshine to an inactive crack house because she was scared that sunshine was going to take her solos. While they argued over it, Finn saw a very calm Rachel, and said

"What do you have to say about this?" Rachel looked at Finn, and said

"I say it's just friendly competition rivalry, it's not like it's illegal in the show choir book, it's not like he's doing drugs, or stealing our setlist to use at regional, it's just friendly competition rivalry." As she said that everyone was shocked that Rachel this defending Sebastain. Santana spoke up and said

"Look here man hands defending the competition like always." Rachel rolled her eyes at her and said

"Look you may think what he had done is wrong, even though he did slushie Blaine who defended someone else and put him in surgery which was a lame prank gone wrong because he was aiming for someone else but you all need to remember that in my second year in Glee Club I sent Sunshine to an inactive crack house because I was scared that she would take the solos, so you can judge him all you want, because you all judged me, yelled at me told me off, and I'm not going to sit here and listen to all you guys yell and argue because something happened to Finn, because I know if it happened to me no-one would defend me, you will laugh and side with him, and guess what I'm just like him." As she said that, everyone was quiet, and then Finn said

"Rachel, were over." As Finn said that, Rachel stood up from her seat and walked out of glee club crying because she was dumped just for defending someone. As she walked out of the door she bumped into someone that put their arms around her. She didn't know who it was until she heard

"It's okay Streisand." She cried more tears just as Sebastian was comforting her. Sebastian got Rachel to look at him, and said

"This is because of me not you." Rachel nodded, and then watched as Sebastain walked into her glee. (A/N: Took that similar scene from a walk to remember) She stood outside the door and heard what he said

"You are supposed to be all her friends but the minute she defends someone even though they are from the competition, you yell at her for it because all she wants is to have a fair competition. It's like she isn't allowed to have a voice." As Rachel heard that, she was surprised that someone had actually defended her even when if they are from a different show choir team. She wiped away her tears, just as Finn said

"What are you really doing here Smythe?" Sebastian looked at him and said

"I was going to apologise for what I done to you, but after hearing what was said to Rachel because she defended me, I'm not, but I will apologise to Blaine." Rachel was shocked because he was going to apologise. She saw Sebastian walk up to Blaine and heard his apology, and heard that Blaine accepted.

Sebastian then walked out of the choir room, and took Rachel with him. Sebastian led Rachel to the Lima Bean, where they sat and started to talk, and Rachel said

"Thanks for apologising to Blaine and defending me." Sebastian smiled and said

"Your welcome, and thank you for defending me." Rachel smiled and he continued

"Did you really send Sunshine to a crackhouse because you were worried that she would take your solos?" She stared at him and said

"It was an inactive crackhouse mind you." Sebastian was shocked and said

"I thought you were lying." They laughed and continued to talk to each other. They ended up having a good time, and Sebastian surprised her by kissing her. But what surprised him more is that Rachel had kissed him back, given the fact that she was dumped only moments ago.

When they pulled away for oxygen, Sebastian smiled at her as he stared into her eyes as she smiled at him, she kissed him and when they pulled apart again, Sebastian looked into her eyes and said

"I love you."
