Sebastian and Rachel One Shots (Smytheberry)

25. A dance of our own

Rachel was currently sitting in the Lima Bean as she ditched her school dance. Even though she was meant to be singing, she didn't feel like singing, as school dances always made her feel like crap, because no-one asks her, and this year was no different, because not only was she dateless but Jesse was her last resort, and she didn't want to go with him, so she decided to ditch.

As she sat on her own feeling depressed, she heard

"Sitting on your own Broadway." She looked up and saw Sebastian Smythe holding two cups of coffee. As she watched him placed the second coffee in front her, she couldn't help but be mesmerised by his green eyes. Sebastian sat down across from her, and said

"Shouldn't you be at your school dance that Blaine and Kurt told me about" Rachel folded her arms, leaned back in her seat, sighed and said

"Yes, but I decided to ditch." Sebastian looked at her curiously and said

"Why? Didn't think girls did that to any dances." Rachel shrugged her shoulders and said

"Why do you care Sebastian?" Sebastian drank some of his coffee, placed his cup on the table and said

"Broadway, I have always cared, but I have mainly cared about you." Rachel rolled her eyes and said

"You have a funny way of showing it." Sebastian was taken back by the sudden hostility and said

"Broadway, what's wrong?" Rachel, stared at the cup in front of her, then looked up at Sebastian and said

"Nothing I'm fine." As she said that, Sebastian sighed and said

"No you're not." As he said that, Rachel looked up at him and said

"I ditched my school dance because not only did I not have a date, but I didn't feel like singing." As she said that, Sebastian looked at her with disbelief and said

"You not have a date, is like Barry Allen not being in love Iris West." As he said that, Rachel smiled and said

"Well Jesse did ask me, but I said no." Sebastian grinned and said

"Don't blame you." They both laughed, and Rachel said

"Since you asked me, I'm going to ask why are you here Sebastian?"  Sebastian drank the rest of his coffee, just as Rachel took a drink of hers, and he said

"I was meant to do a midnight coffee run for Thad and I, but not only did I stay here, but I gave you Thad's coffee." Rachel was surprised at Sebastian's (A/N: lol I almost wrote: Rachel was surprised at Grant's) confession and she said

"So I drank Thad's drink.. I'll buy him a replacement." Sebastian laughed and said

"Don't worry about it, Thad can go without a Lima Bean coffee." Rachel and Sebastian laughed, and he then said

"Do you want to get out of here?" Rachel stopped laughing, and said

"Depends." Sebastian raised an eyebrow at her and said

"Depends on what?" Rachel finished her drink and then said

"Depends on where you are taking me." Sebastian said

"Do you trust me?" Rachel stared at Sebastian and said

"Highly questionable considering your actions in the past." Sebastian shook his head and said

"I know, but you can trust me now." Sebastian stood up, stretched his arm out, and held out his hand for Rachel. Rachel took his hand, and Sebastian lead her out of the Lima Bean, and onto the streets. Sebastian then turned, faced Rachel and placed his hands on her waist and he said

"Would you like to Dance Rachel?" Rachel looked at him and said

"But there's no music." Sebastian smiled and said

"So." Rachel then gave up asking him questions, and placed her arms around Sebastian, so they can slow dance to no music. While having Rachel up close to him in his arms, Sebastian caught his breathe, because it was like a dream come true for him, as he remembered all the times he has insulted and blackmailed her because he has been in love with her, and wanted to make her feel the pain he felt when he found out she was dating Finn. As he held her he sighed deeply, and imagined what it would be like to actually date her. 

Sebastian held Rachel closer, and then said

"Rachel." They stopped dancing, and Rachel looked at him and said

"Yes." Sebastian looked at her, and said

"There's no way you shouldn't be on your own for prom, you only get one prom." As he said that, Rachel smiled and said

"Who needs a dance, when we just had our own." Sebastian looked at her, and then at her lips and said

"Also." When he said that, he froze while staring at her lips because he wanted to kiss her, and he didn't know what else to do as he didn't know if she will allow him or kiss him back, and as he just stood there staring at her lips and then her eyes, Rachel said

"What?" Sebastian thought he should have done something more, instead of just standing there like an idiot, and Rachel then said

"What?" Sebastian couldn't take it anymore, and just kissed her. It was everything that Sebastian could dream of, and when they pulled apart, they smiled, and Sebastian said

"I love you." Rachel looked at him surprised and said

"You do?" Sebastian hugged her and said

"Of course I do pretty lady." They pulled apart from the hug, and Sebastian said

"Let's go." Rachel looked at him and Sebastian continued

"We are going to prom." Rachel stared at him surprised and said

"But I'm not wearing a dress, that is prom material." Sebastian looked at her and said

"We aren't going to your school dance, we are going to have a dance of our own." Sebastian then lead her to the middle of the parking lot of the Lima Bean where they started dancing with no music, because all they needed was each other, and everything will be okay. Sebastian then whispered in Rachel's ear

"Now it's time for the King to dance with his queen." Rachel smiled as they continued dancing through the night, and she can honestly say that despite ditching her actual dance, her dance with Sebastian was the best dance she has ever been to.
