75. You matter to me

It was Rachel's birthday, and Kurt and Blaine insisted that she have a party for it while her dads were away on their annual fishing trip. But she was worried that her ex-boyfriend Sebastian would be there too. Truth be told she missed him, but she didn't like the fact that Sebastian had acted up badly, especially when he was promoted to warbler captain.

Rachel had just finished setting up for her party when Puck, Sam, Blaine and Kurt arrived with Sebastian and some of the warblers. It hurt her to see Sebastian but she didn't let show at all. She didn't want to seem weak in front of them especially Sebastian.

Rachel walked to kitchen to bring out the food she made and as she did, Sebastian followed her and he said

"Rach, this break up is stupid." Rachel turned and said

"No it isn't Sebastian, you acted so mean and like such a bully. I didn't even know who you were when you did." Rachel picked up the bowls of chips and walked out to her guests. When she placed the food on the tables, everyone started giving her presents, such as Broadway posters, musical tickets and also scarves and gloves that she doesn't like which she will most likely return. As she looked at them they all heard

"Whoever gave her those gloves and scarves, she will probably return them like she always does." Rachel turned and saw that it was Sebastian that said it. He knew that it was Kurt that gave them to her, just like he knew that Rachel would return them. Everyone in the room was silent, and Rachel then said to Sebastian as she placed the items in her hands on the present table she set up

"You think I always return presents and gifts that are given to me?" Everyone was silent, and Sebastian said

"Basically, you always do so." Rachel stood up and said

"You're wrong Sebastian, and I'll prove it to you." Rachel walked up to her room, picked up a box, walked back to her living and said as she opened the lid and picked out the movie ticket that read The Greatest Showman.

"This is a movie ticket from when we had our first date, where afterwards you put your jacket around me and said you didn't want me to catch a cold." She placed the item back in the box, and took out a lima bean napkin and said

"This was from when I accidently spilt my coffee on your tie at the Lima Bean when I turned and bumped into you as I didn't know that you were standing behind me and you told me to not worry about the stain as you had more ties back in your dorm." She placed the item back in the box, and pulled out a straw wrapper from Breadsticks and said

"And this was from when you wanted to cheer me up because I had a bad day, and we ended up sharing a drink, it was also the first time that you kissed me and told me that you loved me Sebastian." She placed the wrapper back in the box and pulled out a lacrosse ball and his small jersey he made for her and said

"These are from when you won your lacrosse championship game with your team, and you gave me a jersey with your number on it, and gave me the lacrosse ball and said that even though you won the game, you came out a winner even if you lost, because you had me." Rachel placed the ball and jersey back in the box and placed the lid back on, and said to a quiet Sebastian

"I may return some gifts, but not all the time, because I keep things that matter to me, and you Sebastian matter to me, all the damn time, so don't think that I always return gifts because I don't." As she said that, Sebastian looked at her and said

"I had no idea." Rachel looked back at him and said

"Of course you didn't, no-one but Blaine and Noah knew." She picked up the box, and then walked back to her room to put the box away. As she walked away Sebastian watched her, and Puck walked up to him and said

"She still cares about you." Sebastian looked at him and said

"I don't know if she does, she was pissed at me when I accused her of always returning gifts." Puck smiled and said

"She does otherwise she would have thrown away that box, I'll get everyone to leave especially Kurt, to give you two some privacy." Puck walked away to make everyone, leaving Sebastian to think about what Puck had said. Sebastian made the bold decision and walked up to Rachel's room. He knocked softly, and Rachel opened the door and said as she pushed past him

"I don't have time, I have to get back to my party." Sebastian grabbed Rachel's hand, spun her around to face him and she said

"Seb, I told you I have to get back to my party." Sebastian looked at her and said

"Puck is getting everyone especially Kurt to leave to give us some privacy to talk." Rachel was stunned at what Sebastian, and Sebastian said

"I'm sorry for everything Rachel. I wish I could take all the bad things I done, but I can't." Rachel was quiet, and Sebastian said

"You matter to me too Rach. You always have mattered to me. I may not show it all the time, but you do." Rachel looked at Sebastian and she knew that this was her Sebastian. The one with sweet side that only she gets to see. She missed him a lot, and she said

"I missed you Seb, I really did, I still care about you, and you'll always matter to me, always." Sebastian caressed rachel's cheek and stroked it with his thumb and said

"I missed you too Rachie, more than you will ever know."
