56. Parents choice

After a long day at school, all Rachel wanted to do was complete her homework and relax, but as Rachel walked into her house from school, where she was greeted by her dads, which was nothing unusual, she knew something was different when her dads hugged her tighter than normal. Rachel looked at her dads and said

"What's going on?" Her dads looked at each other, and then at her and smiled, and her dad Leroy said

"We have found you a suitor." Rachel was confused when he said that, and she said

"What do you mean you found me a suitor?" Her dad Hiram walked up to her and said

"Rachel, as your dads you have to trust us." They then turned, and walked to the living room and Rachel followed them and said

"You expect me to trust you two after you tell me you found a suitor for me." As she said that, she walked into view and saw the one and only Sebastian Smythe sitting in her living room with his parents on either side of him.

"Sebastian?" Sebastian looked up and saw an equally confused Rachel.

"Rachel?" The adults in the room, were silently pleased that they knew each other, and  Sebastian's dad Charles said

"You two know each already." Sebastian turned to his dad and said

"Yeah, we are rivals in show choir." Rachel's dads were pleased at the revelation, while Rachel and Sebastian looked at each other confused, and Rachel said

"Can I talk to Sebastian in my room without you four." Rachel's dads and Sebastian's parents agreed, as Sebastian followed Rachel up to her room. Rachel closed her door, turned to Sebastian and whispers

"What the hell is going on?" Sebastian looked at Rachel and said

"Why are you whispering?" Rachel looked at Sebastian and said

"In case our parents hear us." Sebastian agreed, and then whispered

"I wish I knew what was going on as well." Rachel was confused and said

"How did you find out?" Sebastian sat on her bed and said

"I finished my classes at Dalton, and then the next thing I know, my parents were outside my dorm, and informed me they found a suitor and took me here." As Sebastian said that, Rachel and Sebastian looked at each other and realised what was happening, and in that instinct they both said

"No way." As they said that, deep down they were gutted because secretly they wanted to be together, but not like this. Rachel sat next to Sebastian and said

"Let's get a sense of what could be happening." Sebastian looked at her and said

"We could be getting married to each other, because of our parents." Rachel looked at Sebastian and said

"What are we going to do?" Sebastian wanted to know why their parents would do something like this, and he said

"Well, let's find out why first." Rachel sat closer to Sebastian and said

"How are we going to find that out?" Sebastian smirked and said

"Follow my lead." They walked back to the living room, where their parents were, and Rachel's dad Leroy said

"Did your talk go okay?" Sebastian put his arm around Rachel and he said

"It went fantastic." Sebastian pulled Rachel closer to him and he continued

"In fact it went so fantastic that we decided, we would run away together, get eloped in Las Vegas and not tell our parents." As he said that, their parents were furious and they sat them down at the table, and Rachel said

"Tell us what is going on." As she said that, the four adults sat around them quietly not saying a word and Sebastian said

"If you don't tell us what is going on, Rachel and I will walk out that door, and you will never see us again, so tell us what is going on right now." As he said that, his dad said

"You and Rachel are getting married." Sebastian and Rachel were shocked, as they realised that they were right, but wanted to know more and Rachel's dad Leroy continued

"It's in a contract." Rachel and Sebastian were even more confused, and Rachel said

"What contract?" The adults looked at each other and then at their kids and Sebastian's mum said

"You may as well tell them, otherwise they will eventually find out." Sebastian was shocked that his mum would allow this to happen, and he said

"Eventually find out what exactly?" Rachel's dads looked at Rachel and her dad Hiram said

"When you were a little girl, we went on a trip to France for work, and when we got there, you made a friend, turns out it was Sebastian here." Rachel and Sebastian were shocked at this revelation that they met before he and his family moved out to Ohio. As they were shocked, Sebastian's dad continued

"When you both were 10, your mum, Hiram, Leroy and I made a deal, and signed a contract that states when you are both 18, you will be married so you can take over the law firm after you get your degree." Sebastian and Rachel were furious. Sebastian stood up and said

"I'm not going to take any part in this, what if I don't want to be a lawyer, did you ever think of that?" Rachel had never seen Sebastian so angry, and she too stood up and said

"I'm not taking part in this, how do we even know if this contract is real, or if it's made up because you all want to control our lives." As Rachel said that, Sebastian was proud of her, and he then left with Rachel following him, she gave him her car key, and they went to the Lima Bean. They sat in silence until Sebastian spoke

"I can't believe they would do something like this." Rachel looked at Sebastian and said

"Why would they do something like this?" Sebastian leaned forward and said

"Because like you said, they want to control our lives." Rachel was silent, as was Sebastian, until he looked at her and said

"You want to go to Dalton, because I doubt you would want to go home." Rachel nodded her head, and said

"Please, we can get a coffee from here on the way." Sebastian agreed, as they stood up and went to the counter. Sebastian paid for their coffees, walked out the Lima Bean and drove them to Dalton. When they arrived Sebastian took Rachel's hand and lead her to his dorm, they walked in, closed the door, and Sebastian said

"I'm not expecting anything." Rachel looked at him and said

"I know." Sebastian gave her a small smile, and then walked over to his clothes, and pulled out his lacrosse jersey and gave it to her

"You can wear this for the night." Rachel kissed his cheek, and then left to his bathroom to change. She walked out, and saw Sebastian laying on his bed, he rolled over, made room for her, so she can lay down next to him. As she laid down next to him, Sebastian lifted his hand to her cheek, and said

"Even though what our parents did was wrong on so many levels, there is one thing I am sure of." Rachel stared into his eyes, and she swear she saw the look of love, and she said

"What is it?" Sebastian softly stroked Rachel's cheek and said

"I'm in love with you, and that is never going to change." Rachel smiled at him and said

"I love you too." Sebastian kissed her and then held her close to him. They knew they loved each other, and they doubt their parents knew of their feelings, as they themselves didn't even expect to be together at all.
