Sebastian and Rachel One Shots (Smytheberry)

89. I couldn't decide

Based on the Christmas episode in season 3 where Rachel gives her Christmas list to Finn.

Rachel was annoyed that Finn got her a pig as a Christmas gift even when she is vegan, so that night she decided that she would make his job of picking out a gift for her easier, by making a list of some of the things she wants to give him some idea on what he can get her, as she also wanted a good luck charm for her NYADA audition, as it was one of the biggest auditions of her life.

She walked into the Lima Bean where Finn told her to meet. Rachel walked in and walked over to Finn who was standing in a coffee line behind some warblers. Rachel gave the list she wrote to Finn. Finn accepted the list from her, and said

"What's this?" Rachel looked at him and said

"Since you are having trouble and don't really know what to get me for Christmas, I thought I would make this easier for you, if you had some idea about what you could get me as a present, so I wrote a list for you with things that could help you." Finn looked at the list in his hands and she continued

"Even if it's five things on that list." Finn looked at the list, and he knew that he couldn't even afford anything on the list, as he looked at the list he mumbled to himself holy crap I'm dating Kim Kardashian. But Rachel had heard him as did the warblers standing in front of them especially Sebastian Smythe the former bad boy himself who had a secret crush on her, and he knew just like Rachel that this was the last straw for the Finchel relationship. She looked up at Finn and said

"How could you say that Finn?" Finn looked at her and said

"What do you mean?" Rachel folded her arms and said

"You know what, how could you think I'm Kim Kardashian? when all I did was give you a list with ideas on what to give me for Christmas instead of gifting me a pig when I'm vegan and don't eat meat. How could you think that I'm like her? I'm not." Rachel snatched the list from Finn's hands and said

"Just forget it Finn. I'll accept your stupid pig, it seems like a less Kardashian thing." As she looked up at him once more with tears in her eyes she continued

"And in case you haven't realised Finn, but we are over at least now I can focus more in my NYADA audition." Rachel turned around and started to walk away as she did she scrunched up the paper, and threw it on the ground.

Sebastian saw the whole thing, he wanted to cheer her up, and how dare Frankenteen basically call his Broadway, a Kim Kardashian when all she wanted was to help him out, so she can focus and practice on her audition and not worry about a bad gift. He walked out of line, kneeled to the ground and picked up the ball of paper. He opened it up and he read Rachel's list. It was only simple things she wanted, the things she deserved and she knew she did.

Sebastian stood up, placing the paper in his blazer pocket, walked to the counter to pay for his coffee, and then left to get everything from Rachel's list, and more because of her Jewish holiday Hanukkah.

A few days later and the day before Rachel's NYADA audition, Sebastian went to McKinley in search of his pretty girl. He had found her talking with Puck, Blaine and Kurt. He walked over to them and said

"I'm not here to cause trouble." Kurt who scooted closer to blaine when Sebastian walked over and said

"Then why are you here meerkat?" Sebastian smiled and said

"I want to talk to Rachel." Sebastian then looked at her and said

"Privately." Rachel, Kurt, puck and Blaine were surprised, and Rachel said

"Me?" Sebastian nodded his head at her and said

"Yes you" noticing the look Sebastian was giving her, Puck turned to Kurt and Blaine and said

"Obviously it's important, we will see you in glee Rach." Puck took Blaine and Kurt away from them and as he did, Rachel looked at Sebastian and said

"What do you want Sebastian? I have to keep practicing don't rain on my parade and nail my NYADA audition which is tomorrow." Sebastian smiled at her and said

"I actually prefer your song get it right. It's original and it's your words, and it showcases you as a person, and not a copy of someone else, but I'm sure you'll be great at don't rain on my parade." Rachel was surprised at what Sebastian had said, as she never thought of singing her original song. She smiled at him and said

"Thank you Sebastian, that was really helpful, and is that why you are here?" Sebastian sighed and said

"Actually, I came to tell you that I saw and heard what happened in the Lima bean with the big oaf a few days ago." Rachel looked down and said

"What, and you came to laugh at me?" Sebastian looked at her shocked, at how she could accuse him of that. He shook his head no and said

"Actually no, I don't find it remotely funny. I was worried about you. And I have something to show, well something for you." Rachel looked up at him shocked and said

"What is it?" Sebastian gave her a small smile and said

"I need you to come to dalton with me, as what I have for you is in my dorm I'm not going to try anything I promise." Rachel thought about it and then said

"I trust you, you did give me some thoughtful advice for my audition tomorrow." Sebastian smiled triumphantly held his hand out and said

"Great, now come on." Rachel gladly took Sebastian's hand, and allowed him to lead her to Dalton and to his dorm.

When they reached Dalton and his dorm, Sebastian faced Rachel and said

"Please don't feel overwhelmed by this." Rachel looked at him confused and said

"I promise that I won't, I trust you remember." Sebastian gave her smile, and lead her inside his dorm. Rachel looked on his bed and saw all the presents. Sebastian stood next to her and said

"They are all for you Streisand, some of them are for Hanukkah you can tell because I wrote happy Hanukkah on them." Rachel looked at him emotional and Sebastian continued as he picked up a small box and gave it to her

"I figured that you might want to wear these for your audition tomorrow." Rachel opened up the small box, and saw the diamond rings that were on the list she had wrote, and she wondered how Sebastian knew . She closed the box and

"How did you know about this Sebastian?" Sebastian opened his blazer, and showed her the creased list she wrote and said

"This, I saw you screw it up and throw it to the ground, and I opened it and brought you all the presents on there, as I didn't know which five to get you, and I got you extra presents for Hanukkah. And for the record I don't think you are like Kim Kardashian. You deserve everything and more, and you know that you do." Rachel was more emotional and said

"Why did you do this for me, I thought you hated me." Sebastian placed the paper on his night stand, walked over to her, took her hand and said

"I don't hate you Rachel, I never have and I never will. I only blackmailed you to break you and Hudson up. And I could never hate a beautiful girl like you. Truth is Rachel. I love you. And I would do anything for you." Rachel then gave Sebastian his Christmas gift from her. She wrapped her arms around his neck, stood on her toes and kissed him, and when they pulled apart, Rachel smiled at him lovingly and said

"I love you too, I'm sorry my gift wasn't much, but Merry Christmas Sebastian." Sebastian smiled at her and said

"Don't worry about the gift, having you as my girlfriend and waking up to you on Christmas Day is all I ever really want. And happy Hanukkah Pretty Love."
