117. 11 reasons why I love you

It was Mother's Day and Rachel felt neglected that hers and Sebastian's son Skylar had not only moved out but never talks to her or wishes her Mother's Day or happy birthday only Sebastian got the Father's Day and birthday messages. She was in her New York apartment when she felt arms around her and she sighed contently in Sebastian's arms. Sebastian understood how Rachel felt when their son Skylar didn't acknowledge her on Mother's Day.

Sebastian did everything he could to make his wife Rachel feel loved and worthy on Mother's Day because of their son. Sebastian knew just how neglected Rachel felt, and always knew how much she thinks about where she went wrong. Rachel sighed sadly and said

"Sebby, are you sure i didn't do anything wrong with Skylar?" Sebastian turned Rachel in his arms and said

"You didn't do anything wrong with Sky, pretty girl. I mean it you didn't." Rachel hugged Sebastian tight, not believing his words, because she knew deep down that she did lead Skylar wrongly and away, how she doesn't know, but she knew that she did.

Later that night, Rachel left Sebastian a note to say that she was going to see Skylar. When she arrived at Skylar's apartment, she knocked on his door loudly for him to answer. She waited nervously and wondered if Skylar would shut the door in her face. She waited and wondered if it was a bad idea coming here, when all of a sudden the door opened. Skylar opened the door and was surprised to see her and said

"Mum what are you doing here, is dad with you too?" Rachel took a deep breath and said

"Well like always you missed Mother's Day Skylar, and no your dad isn't with me. It's just me." Skylar sighed and then stood aside letting her in, and said

"I'm sorry I missed Mother's Day, but I've been so busy." Rachel turned and said

"Every year Sky, and busy on my birthday even though I send you a card and a present every year. And you aren't busy on Father's Day or even your dad's birthday Skylar." Skylar was silent as he closed the door and then said

"I'm sorry." Rachel sat down on the chair and said

"I bet you don't even know 10 things about me." Skylar was offended and said

"I know a lot of things about you." Rachel folded her arms as she stared at him and said

"What's my favourite flower?" Truthfully Skylar didn't know what his mum's favourite flower was, and he said

"I know your favourite flower." Rachel knew Skylar was lying and said

"It's tulips." Skylar felt like a horrible son and said

"Curious how long are you exactly staying here mum, since you do have dad back at home." Rachel knew Skylar didn't want her here in his apartment, but she wasn't going to leave until he showed one ounce of care towards her. Rachel looked at Skylar and said

"A while. I'm going to start your dishes." Rachel stood up and walked to the kitchen to start his dishes.

Weeks later, Skylar was at cafe the day after his work party where he claims Rachel had embarrassed him while also being frustrated that she was there and sat with a girl named Marley who basically took care of her the night before. Marley smiled at Skylar when she saw him and said

"Did you bring a pen?" Skylar sat with her, pulled a pen out from his pocket and said

"I did." Marley looked at him and said

"Good. What are 10 things you love and know about your mum?" Skylar thought about it and said

"Her favourite flower is tulips, I know because she told me." Marley shook her head and said

"You can't use that." Skylar looked at her confused and said

"Yes I can it's a freebie." Marley sighed and said

"If you can't think of anything that she didn't flat out tell you, then you're a terrible son." Skylar crossed out what he wrote and said

"She loves my dad. My dad he isn't the easiest person to love because he's so guarded and has a wall up. And somehow my mum she managed to break his wall down and fall in love with him. And my dad he has loved my mum from the beginning." Marley smiled at him and said

"Write that down." Skylar wrote it down, and began creating the list.

Rachel was cuddled up on the couch with Sebastian watching funny girl, and Sebastian said

"You doing okay Broadway. And how is our son?" Rachel sighed sadly and said

"I'm doing okay Sebby, and Skylar is doing well, I shouldn't have gone to see him." Sebastian felt for Rachel, he knew how much Rachel loved Skylar. He knew that Rachel loved Skylar more than anything in the world, and it broke his heart to see her be upset because of their son. Sebastian hugged Rachel tight and said

"Skylar does love you Rach. He may not say or show it, but he does. I know he does." As he said that there was a knock on their door. Sebastian paused funny girl, and walked to the front door where he was given tulips from a florist delivery guy who said

"There's a note with it too." Sebastian thanked him, and then walked over to Rachel, handing her the flowers. Rachel saw the note from Skylar and said

"They are from Skylar." Rachel opened the envelope as Sebastian placed the flowers on the table and read

Rachel was emotional when she read the list, that Sebastian wrapped his arms around her and said

"I told you he loves you Broadway. That he may not say it, or show it, but he does love you." Rachel hugged her husband tight and said

"I know you did Sebby." Rachel sighed contently in Sebastian's arms feeling grateful and pleased that she didn't screw anything up with her son, that he really did love her.
