Sebastian and Rachel One Shots (Smytheberry)

142. Halloween

Rachel was nervous as it was her first Halloween in New York and her first Halloween without Finn as he had sadly died in the army, but Rachel still wears his ring as if to honour him and to honour what he has done for the country.

Rachel wasn't prepared for Halloween, she just wants it to be her and a good book but her long time best friend Trent had other ideas.

"Come on Rach. Please come to the Halloween party that my boyfriend Elliot is organising, please Rach." Rachel wanted to avoid anything to do with parties and alcohol because of her disasterous house party that happened when Puck wanted to break open her dads liquor cabinet, and she also wasn't in the mood at all as this Halloween Rachel just wasn't up to it because it reminds her of what could have been. Rachel shook her head and said

"I'm not in the mood." Ever since Rachel got the sad news of Finn, Trent has been worried about her a lot. And the only other two people to know his worries about the girl is Elliot and Elliot's room mate and his and Rachel's long time friend Sebastian Smythe.

Trent sighed and said

"I get it Rach. I know you loved him a lot and was planning to marry him today and  even with your little one that you sadly lost too, but Finn would have welcomed your little one with open arms and would also be taking care of them and they wouldn't want you to sit around and be mopey. He gave his life for the country for you. And sitting here and not allowing yourself to move forward doesn't do well for his services and what he has done for everyone. Plus going to a party will be good for you and don't worry El didn't invite Kurt or Santana." Rachel knew Trent was right, and she was pleased to hear that Kurt and Santana weren't invited at all.

Trent looked at Rachel as an idea came to him and said

"How about if you get your cute little butt off the sofa, and put on your costume that I picked for you, and we go to Elliot's party and if you still aren't up to partying, you, me, Niff, Thad, Blaine and Sebastian can go trick or treating and see how much candy people will give us instead." Rachel thought about it and finally gave in

"Fine I'm in. You convinced me Trent. I'll go." Rachel stood up, walked to her room in the apartment she shares with Trent, and put on her costume that Trent had picked out.

As she finished changing she walked out and said

"A Maria costume. It's perfect Trent." Trent smiled widely and said

"Maria is a classy lady Rachie just like you are." Trent wasn't going to let on that it was actually Sebastian who picked it out when Trent asked for help to look for a classy outfit for Rachel.

When they arrived, Sebastian couldn't stop staring at Rachel. He walked up to her with a glass of champagne in his hand and said

"Champagne for Miss Maria." Rachel giggled a little and accepted the drink. Rachel looked at Sebastian's costume and she couldn't believe it, Sebastian was dressed as Tony.

"You're Tony. Did you plan this?" Sebastian gave an innocent smile

"Guilty. But when Elliot makes the Halloween party theme classy and elegant musical characters it's not really much to go on. Tony is as classy and elegant as musical characters can get."

Rachel couldn't argue with Sebastian, and stayed with him the whole upon Sebastian's request. Sebastian sensing Rachel's awkwardness at the party looked at her and said

"You want to leave, we can go trick or treating." Rachel thought about it and said

"Sure but we have to let." Before Rachel could finish her sentence she saw Trent and Elliot in the corner making out. And then looked up at Sebastian and said

"I'll message Trent later."

Rachel and Sebastian then left the party and started walking around aimlessly New York, they fell into a comfortable silence and Sebastian said

"I'm sorry to hear about Finn. I know how much you loved him, and I do thank him and appreciate him for his service and what he has done. He's a hero Rachel. And he left behind an even greater hero in you with having the power to keep going." Rachel gave a small smile to him and said

"Thank you Sebastian. It means a lot you said that to me. I was actually supposed to marry him today. He always wanted a Halloween themed wedding, but I now I can't." Sebastian took Rachel's hand and squeezes it.

"Well he's a Halloween hero." Rachel looked up at him as they walk

"I didn't want him to be a hero, I wanted him to be my husband. I keep going for him, and what's really making it hard too is that a week after I found about Finn's death and how it happened, I miscarried his baby. So I don't even have a piece of him in the world with me." Sebastian stopped walking and stopped her from walking and hugged her tight.

"I'm so sorry you had to go through all of that. I'm glad Trent helped you. And you do have a piece of him in the world with you. His engagement ring that you wear around your neck you wear it every day in honour of him and what he's done."

As Sebastian said that Rachel hugged him and actually never thought about it like that.

"Thank you Sebastian, really I actually never thought about my engagement he gave me like that." Sebastian kissed Rachel's hair in a comfort manner and said

"Anything for you Rach." They pulled apart the hug and Sebastian stared at her and smiled

"You know I had a huge crush on you in highschool. I loved you back then and I still love you now." In that Rachel kissed him. Which made Sebastian's heart sing. And when they pulled apart Sebastian said

"If you let me I can help you heal from the loss of Finn." Rachel looked at him in a way she never did before and said

"I thought you already were."

Sebastian smiled widely and kissed Rachel once more under the Halloween stars.

Rachel was a little nervous for Halloween because of the loss of Finn but now she had a lot to look forward too with Sebastian by her side.
