Sebastian and Rachel One Shots (Smytheberry)

149. How Thad found out about his step sister and best friend.

Sebastian was sat in the Lima Bean with the warblers, sitting next to his best friend since childhood Thaddeus Harwood.

Sebastian was not happy and the reason he wasn't happy was because after what he did to Blaine and with Blaine coming back to Dalton because of his break up with Kurt he had to step down as captain, and the captaincy and male soloist was once again given to Blaine and on top of that Sebastian's secret girlfriend Rachel was all the way in New York. Sebastian was not happy and the warblers especially Thad knew he wasn't.

Thad tried everything to cheer up Sebastian but nothing was working not even Sebastian's favourite hazelnut latte was working and that's when Thad knew Sebastian was really upset.

"What's going on Bas?" Sebastian looked at Thad and said

"Nothing." Thad gave him a really look and said

"You sure, because you barely touched your hazelnut latte. And you always drink your coffee." Sebastian sighed and said

"It's nothing don't worry about it. It's nothing you can help me with. It's not fair that when Blaine comes back he has to have captaincy and male solo when he hasn't even been part of the group for almost two years. He abandoned the group and didn't even tell you guys that he was leaving because of Kurt and then there's..." Sebastian stopped himself from talking and shakes his head as he stands up to leave

"It doesn't matter Thad." Thad watched his best friend walk away, and wondered what Sebastian was going to say before he stopped himself and walked away. As he wondered about it he heard

"I think I know how to help him." Thad looked and saw Santana.

"And how exactly would you know how to do that Lopez. Last I checked you hated him." Santana sat across from him and said

"That could not be more true Harwood, but I know how to help your former captain, and I can say that with Blaine coming back to Dalton it triggered this emotion from him." Thad didn't like Santana because of how she treats his step sister Rachel but if she knew how to help his best friend then he's all for it.

"How can I help my best friend Lopez?" Santana smirked and said

"You know your bestie is in a relationship right?" Thad was shocked at what Santana had just said and said

"I didn't. Why wouldn't he tell me?" Santana looked at him knowingly and said

"Because of the girl he's dating. Just don't worry about it, I already messaged her to be in his dorm, she should be there now as we speak. And no I'm not telling you who it is."

Meanwhile Sebastian sadly walked into his and Thad's dorm and as he did he heard

"Why so sad Sebby?" Sebastian knew the voice and turned to see Rachel his girlfriend sat on his bed waiting for him. He quickly closed the door and walked over to her and sat and cuddled her.

"How?" Rachel cuddled up to him and said

"Santana, so I took the first train out. But why are you sad Sebby, did my step brother find out about us after hiding it from him for so long and he told you that you and I have to break up?" Sebastian shook his head no and said

"No he didn't on both accounts." Rachel was relieved but she knew that Thad had to know sometime and she couldn't hide it from him forever. Rachel kissed Sebastian and said

"What's wrong my love?" Sebastian sighed and said

"Blaine is coming back to Dalton, and after what I did to him, he's coming back to the warblers and I have to step down as captain and he's taking it as well as male soloist as well." Rachel was shocked at what he said

"He can't do that, he hasn't been part of the group for almost two years." Sebastian pulled Rachel closer and said

"I know, and there's nothing I can do." Rachel smiled at him and said

"Yes there is, you just have to come up with something better, and do a sing off of the same song and let the warblers decide on who they want as captain, because at the end of the day it's up to the boys not Blaine." Sebastian thought about what Rachel had said

"That's.... that's a really good idea Love." Rachel gave a small smile before she yawned and fell asleep. Sebastian kissed Rachel's hair and fell asleep cuddled up to her.

A few hours later Thad had walked into his and Sebastian's dorm and what he saw shocked him. He saw his step sister and his best friend cuddled up and kissing. Thad cleared his throat to get their attention.

Rachel and Sebastian quickly pulled apart and saw Thad looking at them.

Thad sat on his bed and looked at them both and said

"I'm not mad. I'm not freaking out. Just want to know how long you've been together?"

Rachel blushed and said

"A year Thad." Thad was wide eyes and was trying to not freak out and spoke once more

"Were you ever going to tell me?" Sebastain nervously spoke

"We were, but we just didn't know when the right time was, there was never a good time Thad."

Thad didn't know what to say to the couple before him. Eventually the words come to him.

Thad took a deep breath and said

"As much as I don't like it because it's my best friend and my sister. I do admit that for the past year you've both been really happy, and all i want is for you both to be happy but I will say this Smythe. You hurt her, you have me to answer to." Sebastian nodded his head and then watched Thad stand up and walk out the dorm.

As Thad walked out he saw Trent standing there and waiting for him and said

"You found out about them?" Thad nodded his head and said

"I did. It's not up to me who they date the heart wants what the heart wants, and the way I look at it is if they end up marrying one day my best friend becomes family."

Which is exactly what Thad got in four years time.
