49. Telling her

Back story: Rachel used to be in an abusive relationship with Finn, Sebastian saved her and protected her.

Now they have a daughter who is 14 and Rachel and Sebastian thinks it's time to tell her after she sees her scars.

Rachel just got home from picking up Charlotte Maria Smythe from school, Sebastian and Rachel decided they would live in New York, to give Charlotte opportunities they never had. Rachel and Charlotte walked inside in the apartment, as they did Charlotte who had Rachel's brown chocolate hair, and bambi eyes with Sebastian's nose, smile and smirk, and is more cunning and conniving than both her parents were, turned to face her mum and said

"The other day, when you were getting ready to perform and I was backstage with dad, uncle Sky, aunt Marley, uncle Kurt and uncle Blaine, I saw scars on your back. Dad isn't giving them to you is he." Rachel walked over to her daughter, hugged her and said

"Charlotte, I can promise you, that your dad isn't hurting me at all, and he hasn't given me scars at all. Your dad is many things, but he won't ever hurt anyone, yes he did almost blind your uncle Blaine, but your uncle Blaine was in the wrong spot at the wrong time, but he will never hurt me, you or the ones he loves and cares about." Rachel pulled apart the hug and said

"Okay, I will tell you. But right now I want you to start your homework and then you can start practicing for the school musical." Charlotte nodded her head and then walked to her room to start her homework, as Rachel watched her walk away, she feared the day her daughter asked about her scars, and questioned her about it, as she stood fearing about what her 14 year old daughter asked, she didn't hear the door open, but she felt arms around her.

Rachel turned and saw her husband Sebastian Smythe, smiling down at her. Sebastian kissed her and said

"Miss me?" Rachel smiled, kissed him and said

"Always." Sebastian looked at Rachel and saw fear in her eyes, a look he hasn't seen in years, Sebastian lifted up his hand, stroked her cheek and said

"She asked questions didn't she?" Rachel nodded her head yes and said

"She did, she saw my scars on my back when she was backstage with you, Skylar, Marley, Blaine and Kurt, she thought it was you, but I reassured her it wasn't." Sebastian hugged her and said

"We should tell her now, she's of age to understand what is happening." Sebastian kissed Rachel's hair, as Rachel said

"We should, let's go tell her." They pulled apart the hug, as Rachel took Sebastian to Charlotte's room where she was doing her homework with her door open. Charlotte looked up from her textbook and notebook and saw Sebastian. She smiled brightly, stood up from her desk and hugged him

"Dad." Sebastian hugged her and said

"Hey princess." They pulled apart, as Charlotte said

"You've been calling me that since I was 4." Sebastian chuckled and said

"You will always be my princess and your mum will always be my queen." Rachel smiled at what he had said, and then spoke softly to their daughter said

"Charlotte we have to talk to you about something." Sebastian and Rachel took both of Charlotte's hands and lead her to her bed, where they sat down, Charlotte looked at them both and said

"Whatever you think I have done, it probably was me, and I'm sorry." Sebastian smirked at her words as Rachel said

"You haven't done anything wrong." Sebastian face softened and said

"Charlotte." She looked at her as he continued

"You need to know, that when you find love, make sure it doesn't hurt." Charlotte looked at him and said

"What do you mean?" Rachel squeezed her daughter's hand and said

"He means love shouldn't leave scars or pain." Charlotte was quiet and then said

"Why?" Sebastian stood up and kneeled down in front of his daughter and said

"Charlotte, you asked your mum about her scars, she is right when she told you I didn't give them to her, a very toxic boy before me gave them to her." Charlotte was surprised and in shock, and then looked to her mum and said

"What did the toxic boy do to you?" Rachel took a deep breathe and said

"The toxic boy would give me bruises and gave me the scars on my back the same faded scars you saw and thought your dad gave them to me." Sebastian took Rachel's other hand, and then squeezed his daughter's so she could look at him and when she did, he said

"We want you to know, that if a boy ever raises a hand to you and hurts you in any way, to walk away straight away, or if it's too late to tell us." Charlotte nodded her head in understanding and said

"Why are you telling me this, and how did you get out mum and be with dad?" Rachel took her hand out of her daughter's hand, pushed some hair out of her face, and said

"We are telling you this, so you know that there monsters in the world, monsters greater than the school bully, and to know that your dad will always protect you, and to answer your second question it was thanks to your dad that I did get out, he saved me." As she said that, Sebastian smiled a small smile as he remembered the day he got his Rachel. Sebastian stood up and sat on the other side of his daughter, and said

"I did save your mum, and I will always protect your mum and I will always protect you princess, no matter what, and that slushie I almost blinded your uncle Blaine with, was meant for the toxic boy that was hurting your mum." Charlotte was quiet and hugged Sebastian tight and said

"Thank you for saving mum." Sebastian hugged tight back and said

"Your welcome, I don't know what I would do without your mum and back then I knew I had to save her." Charlotte pulled away from the hug and said

"How did you know?" Sebastian, looked at Rachel, smiled and said

"I knew I had to save her because I fell in love with her when I first moved to Ohio all those years ago, and when I found out what was happening I knew I had to save and protect her from." Their daughter smiled at him, and said

"I'm glad." Rachel hugged Charlotte and said

"We will let you get back to your homework." Charlotte nodded her head as Sebastian and Rachel walked out of her room, Rachel grabbed his hand and said

"Thank you for saving me." Sebastian smiled, placed both his hands on her cheek and said

"I will always save you."
