85. The bad boy has a hidden heart

Sebastian was a freshman and was currently sitting with the warblers at the Lima Bean drinking his coffee when he saw Rachel, she was in her cheerio outfit reading her book which she didn't get a chance too at lunch as she had Cheerio practice and was also the captain of the team, many people would say that he doesn't have heart, but he does, and it's hidden because he was in love with Rachel, who has had his Herat since the day he met her in middle school, but he disguises it by being a bully.

As Sebastian watched her reading her book, he became filled with anger and jealousy when Finn had approached and kissed her. He sighed and mumbled to himself

Of course she has a boyfriend.

A few years had passed when he heard that Rachel was single, he thought that it was his chance now to approach her and ask her on a date but when he saw that Rachel had gotten back together with Finn, it hurt him once more. He sighed in frustration and started wondering what she saw in him, as he was so much better than Finn, as it hurt his heart to know that his girl was with another.

As he watched them Thad looked at his best friend watching his other best friend getting back together with Finn and said

"You've been crushing on Rachel since middle school when you arrived in Ohio and I introduced you to her Smythe. You're crazy for still liking her, you should move on from her, people will think you have a heart. She's clearly not going to give up on Finn at all, and there are other girls out there Smythe who are single and available." Sebastian knew Thad was right, but he also knew that no-one ever compared to Rachel. Even though he should listen to his best friend and move on, he decided to listen to his heart and just wait for her, as he knew that Rachel is the one.

By the time senior year came. Sebastian was devastated because he had heard that Rachel was engaged and getting married to Finn after regionals. He tried to do everything he could to stop them, to break them up, but he couldn't go through with anything he had planned, but Thad did, and even then Sebastian tried to stop him, as he didn't want Rachel hurt, but she did get hurt by him anyway and not intentionally either, all he wanted was for Rachel to be single so he could ask her out

By the end of senior year he had heard that Finn had let Rachel go and was in New York. Sebastian was once again pleased that Rachel was single again, and not marrying Hudson at all, but he knew that he had to tell Rachel how he felt even if he had to go to New York to tell her, as he left his dorm,  and Dalton he walked past Thad and Thad had told him

"I still think you're crazy for waiting." Sebastian turned to him and said

"Yeah crazy in love, and since it's the start of the holidays, I'm going to New York to her, to tell her that I love her." Sebastian then turned back around and continued to walk to his car to go to Rachel. Sebastian had caught the train to New York, when he arrived, he went straight to the NYADA dorms after asking the students of where he could find her. He knocked on the dorm door that he was told.

Rachel placed her book down on the night stand in the dorm, got up from her bed, walked to the door and was surprised to see Sebastian Smythe on the other side in his dalton uniform. She looked at him and said

"Sebastian what are you doing here?" Sebastian lifted his hand up to Rachel's cheek, caressed it and said

"Something I should have done a long time ago." Sebastian had then placed his lips on Rachel's. At first Rachel was shocked, but she soon melted into his kiss. When they pulled apart, they smiled at each other and Sebastian said

"People thought I was crazy to wait this long, this long to be with you, to have you as my girlfriend ." Rachel kissed Sebastian's lips once more and said

"You kinda were, but it's also romantic too, especially since you came all this way to New York to me, to tell me how you feel." Sebastian hugged Rachel tight, took off his warbler ring, and gave it to her and said

"You're my girl now Broadway. It's a promise that I will always love you, and only be committed to you." Rachel looked at him and said

"You love me?" Sebastian placed his warbler ring on Rachel and said

"Of course I do. I've been in love with you since I first you back in middle school after Harwood had introduced us. It hurt a lot when I saw you with Finn throughout highschool, and I respected that you were with someone else so I just kept waiting for you even though I'm terribly sorry that I did blackmail you that was only to break you and Hudson up." Rachel was touched by his words, especially his apology and realised that it's always been Sebastian. Rachel looked up at him and said

"I love you too." At those words Sebastian had kissed Rachel while also locking the dorm door, and then said

"I've waited so long to hear you say those words to me Streisand."

A few years later, Sebastian had married Rachel. Even though Sebastian had waited a long time for Rachel and Thad said that he was crazy for waiting. Sebastian knew that he did have to wait, and that the wait was worth it, as deep down, even he thinks that back in middle school when he first saw her, he was waiting for his wife
