Sebastian and Rachel One Shots (Smytheberry)

131. Little Escape Away- part 2

As Rachel and Sebastian slowly danced together. Sebastian couldn't help but pretend that Rachel was his and only his. But he knew in reality she wasn't.

When they finished dancing, Rachel walked up the room to change and Sebastian sat waiting for her as they had to drive back to Dalton so Rachel can get her car to go home. He couldn't believe that Rachel found his Nana's dress in one of the rooms, and he couldn't believe that Rachel, his Rachel wore the ball dress that used to be his Nana's. Sebastian softly spoke to Rachel when she reappeared in her normal clothes

"You should bring that dress with you. We can dry clean it, and then return it tomorrow or something." Rachel thought about it, and silently agreed. She picked up the dress from the room and then walked back to Sebastian, who then lead her out of the building.

When they reached his car Rachel softly spoke

"Thank you for sharing this place with me Sebby. It's really beautiful." Sebastian glanced over at Rachel and then back at the road and said

"It's one of my favourite places in the world. I like to go there to clear my head and just think about things." Like you he thought, but he didn't say it out loud as he didn't want Rachel to freak out, and freak at the prospect that someone like him loves her.

As Sebastian drove, he realised he missed the turn off to go back to Westerville, and Rachel started to freak and said

"Seb, what's going on?" Sebastian gently spoke

"I missed the turn off to go back to Westerville. I'm really sorry Rachel." Rachel gently and slowly put her hand on his and said

"It happens." Sebastian nodded his head as he continued driving, and tried going back, but he couldn't and got more lost, and to make things worse it was coming in dark, and clouds were coming over, and looked like it was about to rain. Which made Rachel panic, as she knew what cones with the rain, thunder and lightning. Two things she hates and is scared of.

She started to freak, when Sebastian gently placed his hand on Rachel's and held it. Sebastian knew Rachel was scared of thunder and lightning and tried to calm her and said

"There's no thunder and lightning. It's only rain." As he said that there was a flash of light and a loud crash, and Sebastian knew what he had to do. He pulled his car over, unbuckled him and Rachel, and placed Rachel in his lap with his arms wrapped around her to calm her. Sebastian hugged Rachel tight and started whispering sweet things in her ear to distract her. But it wasn't working.

He kissed her temple and started singing you are my sunshine. Rachel was starting to relax at the sound of Sebastian singing and focused on his singing rather than what's happening on the outside.

Sebastian was happy that he was able to calm Rachel down. As he held her, he whispered

"I'm pretty sure there is a motel around here, we can get a room, and spend the night there." Rachel was nervous she didn't want to leave Sebastian's arms but she also knew that they couldn't sleep in his car in the rain. Rachel softly spoke which was barely a whisper

"I would like that." Sebastian hugged Rachel tight, gently and carefully placed her back in the passenger's seat, as she buckled up, Sebastian got out of his car, walked to the boot, and brought forward his blanket that he kept and his Dalton lacrosse jumper and handed them to Rachel so she was felt safe while he drove.

Rachel looked at him when he got back in the driver's seat, and handed her the blanket and jumper and said

"What are these?" Sebastian looked at her as he buckled up and said

"They are for you. To help you feel safe." Sebastian reached back, picked up his little toy elephant and handed it to her.

"Here. For you to hug tight on the way to the motel. Ellie the elephant might help you feel less scared, she always helps me feel less scared." Rachel accepted the toy and hugged it tight as Sebastian drove.

As Sebastian drove, he could tell Rachel was curious about the elephant. And he said

"My Nana gave it to me when I was a kid. It used to sing a French lullaby with her singing the song. Ellie the elephant always kept me safe from the thunder, like I hope she's doing for you." Rachel was in awe and said

"She is Sebby. I promise. And thank you." Sebastian lifted up Rachel's hand to his lips and said

"Anything for you Streisand."

He pulled up outside the motel, and walked in to get a room.
Once they got a room, Rachel felt nervous at sharing a bed with Sebastian and he said

"I'll sleep on top of the blankets while you are underneath, with you being scared of the thunder and lightning, you would want to feel safe." Rachel was touched by Sebastian's words. As they got into the bed, and slowly went to sleep, Sebastian unknowingly placed his arm around Rachel which made her feel safe.

Through the night Rachel was woken up by a loud clap of thunder, which also woke Sebastian up. He pulled her close to him and soothed her and sang to her once more, but this his singing wasn't working.

Sebastian knew one thing he could try that would help her. He didn't know what she would do. But he took the chance anyway.

Rachel was freaking out a lot, which Sebastian knew. He grabbed her face gently which calmed her, and he then slowly and gently placed his lips on her.

Rachel was shocked, but also felt safe and calm and she kissed him back which made Sebastian's heart sing because his Rachel kissed him back.

The next morning when they got back to Dalton, Sebastian leaned forward and kissed her, and as they pulled apart Sebastian said

"I love you." Rachel smiled widely at him and said

"I love you too. " Sebastian kissed her once more and when they pulled apart, Sebastian saw the dress out of the corner of his eye and then said

"I forgot to tell you, the dress actually belonged to my Nana and she used to wear it to those masquerade balls in the 70s. It's why I wanted you to take it, and knowing my Nana she would want you to have it." Rachel was shocked and said

"The dress was your Nana's." Sebastian nodded his head and Rachel then continued

"I promise to take care of it." Sebastian lifted Rachel's hands to his lips and said

"I know you will."

And now every week Sebastian and Rachel go to the abandoned dance hall together, and once was even followed by Sebastian's Nana who smiled and was in awe of Sebastian finally being happy with the love of his life and especially knowing that one day her grandson would propose to Rachel in the very building using one of her rings.
