Sebastian and Rachel One Shots (Smytheberry)

140. I found you a date.

Rachel was in her car driving around New York to the highscool in her area, near her apartment building as she was taking her 13 year old daughter Maria Isabella Berry, who Finn her father had walked out on them both before Maria was born.

It was her daughter's first day of high school, Rachel was nervous for Maria. Rachel gave up Broadway for her daughter, because she always felt that there is no greater gift than being a mum.

Rachel hoped that the teachers were kind. She was fearful for her daughter because she didn't have the nicest experience when she was in school, and it doesn't help that Rachel doesn't really have anyone except Blaine, Sam and Puck to lean for anything but Puck was back in the field, Sam and Blaine were back in Ohio, she felt alone, because not even Kurt and her dads support her and Maria, but she was thankful for her friendship with Thad who was the one that recommended the high school she's  currently driving to as he works there as a Spanish teacher.

She parked outside the high school, and she turned to daughter in the front seat and said

"You have everything?" Maria nodded her head and said

"I do mum. And I do plan on joining the show choir team like you did when you were in highschool." Rachel looked at her proudly and said

"Good luck and have fun. I'm a call away if something happens." Maria nodded her head once more and then got out the car and walked towards the entrance to the building.

As the day went on Maria walked into the choir and noticed she was the first one there. She sat in the front row in the middle seat as she wanted to be front and centre. As she sat down she saw the glee director had walk in the choir room.

Maria studied him, and saw that he looked to be the same age as her mum. As she thought that, she then thought of her mum and thought of how alone her mum really is. Maria made a mental decision to speak with her director who she then found out to be named Sebastian Smythe.

Sebastian looked around the room at the students, and his eyes darted to Maria who is a spitting image of Rachel. Sebastian thought the girl looked really familiar to him, and as the lesson went on, he still got the same thought as he heard her voice and saw the determination. It was eerily familiar to him.

After the glee club ended, and everyone had walked out, Maria walked up to Sebastian and said

"This may sound really crazy and really weird. But I think you know my mum." Sebastian looked at the girl curiously and said

"Who's your mum?" Maria smiled and said

"Rachel. Rachel Berry." As he heard the name. Sebastian realised why the girl looked so familiar to him, she was Rachel's daughter. He gave a small smile and said

"I do know your mum. She's amazingly talented, much like you are." Maria was proud when people said that to her, and Maria then said

"I think you should date my mum." Sebastian looked at Maria surprised as and shocked as she said that. Maria just stood there and said

"I know I'm being really forward with this, but my mum she's been feeling lonely lately. And my dad isn't present, he walked out on my mum and I before I was even born, and my mum never mentions him. And I remember my mum saying to uncle Blaine, uncle Sam and uncle Noah that she always found a guy in highschool named Sebastian really handsome, and she always spoke highly of him. I think she loved him, but hid her feelings. And I actually think the Sebastian she was talking about to my uncles were you." Sebastian was shocked to know that his Rachel, the love of his life used to love him and he said

"What makes you think it was me?" Maria gave him a Rachel smile and said

"Well she stopped being around uncle Kurt who doesn't support her and her decisions especially since she also told my uncles that uncle Kurt wouldn't approve, and I know uncle Kurt doesn't like you." Maria walked out the choir room to meet her mum leaving Sebastian dumbfounded at what just happened.

Sebastian walked out of the choir room and walked to Thad's Spanish classroom. Sebastian knew that Thad and Rachel were close, and knew that sometimes Rachel and Thad would meet up for coffee and cake. He knocked on Thad's classroom door and said

"Can we talk." Thad looked up from his student's books and said

"What's up?" Sebastian closed the door and said

"So something weird happened, I just met Rachel's teen daughter today." Thad looked at him with a really look and said

"I did tell you she has a teen daughter who was starting at this school." Sebastian walked towards the chairs  and moved it to in front of Thad's desk, he sat down and said

"That's not the weird thing that happened. The weird thing that happened is in not so many words, she told me Rachel's is in love with me and has been since high school." Thad was shocked, that Sebastian had found out. Thad knew Rachel was in love with his best friend, and said

"And?" Sebastian looked at him and said

"What do you mean and?" Thad wrote Rachel's address down and said

"What are you still doing here. Go get your girl." Sebastian accepted accepted post it note, walked out and decided he would go to Rachel's place.

Maria looked at Rachel who was in the kitchen and said

"Don't get angry but I found someone for you, and by that I mean I found you a date." Rachel dropped the spatula on the ground, turned and said

"What, and who?" Maria smiled innocently at her and said

"I found you someone and he's my glee director, who you know by the way, so it's not some stranger." As she said that there was a knock on the door. Rachel walked towards the door and as she opened it, she saw Sebastian Smythe standing on the other side. Rachel couldn't believe it her first love was back, and she said

"With you here, I'm guessing you're the one Maria found for me." Without answering her, Sebastian placed his lips on Rachel's and said as they pulled apart

"I love you too."
