„Hi, do you mind if my son just quietly sits with us, doing his homework?", Amelia asked her new boss Owen Hunt. James, Logan, and she had decided to move here to live near Meredith and Derek. The brunette was having her first meeting at work with her boss today while her boyfriend would have his tomorrow.

"No, of course. Make yourself comfortable.", the trauma surgeon told the boy that couldn't be older than ten. He was looking a lot like his mother. Darkish brown curly hair, blue eyes, dimples. "You don't have somewhere to be, do you?", Owen wanted to know from his new neurosurgeon as he caught her glancing at her phone after she had received a message.

"Nah, that's just her pain in the ass of a boyfriend.", Logan meddled from his spot at the Chief's desk. "Always wants to be in control of our lives, almost like a stalker.", he shared, indirectly informing the redhead about his opinion of his stepfather.

"Logan, just do your homework!", Amelia ordered strictly. "I'm sorry, that was too much information and I promise it won't happen again. He just doesn't like my boyfriend very much, which has become obvious."

"No worries.", her counterpart said, winking at her. "So, about your new job here. You are fine with the fact that your brother is the neuro department boss, right?", he wondered, just to be sure.

"Yes. How could I not be alright with the holy Derek Christopher Shepherd being the boss of the freaking neuro department of one of the most popular hospitals of this country?", the brunette questioned with a smirk, making her boss chuckle.

"Noted.", he scoffed in amusement. She had a lot of humor, he liked that. "Hey, if you want some of these, feel free to take as many as you'd like. Of course, only as many as your mom allows.", he told the boy that was staring at his chocolate bars.

"Really? Cool! See, mom? James almost never lets me have candy. But your boss does.", the ten-year-old compared the men for obvious reasons, grabbing a handful of the chocolate bars in front of him.

"Would you please stop it? James is doing his best to be a good father to you, just give him a chance.", his mother sighed, wanting nothing more than her son to like her boyfriend as much as she did. "Anyway, what else is there to talk about?"

"Just general stuff. Hospital policy and what not.", the trauma surgeon answered. After another half an hour, they were done and when Owen opened the door for Amelia and Logan to step out of his office, his eyes met the ones of his other new employee, who seemed to be waiting for his family. "See you on Monday then."

"Yeah, thanks. You too!", the neurosurgeon smiled, shaking his hand before Logan gave her boss a fist bump as his goodbye. "Hey, babe!", she greeted her boyfriend and pecked his lips softly, feeling him wrap his arms around her back as he kissed her more passionately, marking his territory.

"Hey, dude!", James greeted his stepson, ruffling his hair. "Chief Hunt.", he said, nodding towards the other man, who he knew had been watching them. "See you tomorrow.", he reminded him before he grasped Amelia's hand to guide her out of the hospital.

"That guy has the hots for you.", the trauma surgeon shared what he had noticed once they were sitting in the car on their way home. "Logan, put that thing away!", he ordered as he watched the boy look at his phone through the rear-view-mirror.

"What?", his girlfriend questioned. "Don't be ridiculous.", she chuckled. "Even if...you know there's only one man in my life. You have been the one for three years now and always will be.", she explained softly.

"It's always nice to hear that, considering everything I am doing for you. I like to see it appreciated. Maybe I can show you my appreciation of what you just told me tonight in bed.", the brunette suggested, wiggling his eyebrows at her.

"Gross!", Logan complained, crossing his arms in front of his chest. He did refer to James' last sentence just as much as to his mothers. When his dad had passed away when he was only four, his whole world had crumbled.

But the ten-year-old had been sure to be able to tackle everything that was to come together with his mom. That was until James walked into their life. He was the definition of annoying, always trying to become someone he would never be, Logan's dad.

"Oh, come on, sweetheart. Please don't be so grumpy all the time. I know the move has been hard on you, but you don't have to get it out on either of us.", Amelia scolded her son, a little angry at his attitude.

"I am trying very hard not to but that is not too easy given the other options I have.", the young brunette replied, causing his stepfather to hit the brake harder than he needed to when they arrived in their driveway.

"You do not ever talk to your mother like that again! Do you hear me, son?", James asked in a serious sounding voice that didn't leave any room for more naughty answers. "I asked if you heard me!", he repeated.

"Yes, I'm sorry.", Logan mumbled, sometimes actually afraid of his mother's boyfriend. He could be really moody if he wanted to and that combined with his protectiveness of his mother never ended well. "I'll go to my room upstairs.", he announced quietly.

"Well, now that this situation is handled, where were we?", the trauma surgeon questioned. "Ah yes, Hunt. Even if you know who you belong to, I am not sure if he got the message. But for his sake I hope he did, because you are mine, Amy."

a/n: Did I actually just start writing another story when my other one isn't even finished? Seems to be the case. Do I have time for this? Absolutely not. Am I stressed and worn out by university? All the freaking time. Am I about to have a cold? Sadly, yeah. Do I regret this? Nope. Not at all.

That said, I don't know when I'll upload new chapters of this story, but I got the idea after finishing the first season of "You". I actually liked James a lot, but he needs to be the bad guy for the sake of this story.

Hope you'll enjoy it. :)
