chapter 62

Sunday, 17th October:

"Hey, I brought coffee and breakfast.", Derek nonchalantly walked into his sister's new bedroom, waking the couple that was nakedly sleeping under the covers. He had been given one of the keys again and had decided to be here earlier then everybody else to make sure no other friend had to find them like this. "Knew you would get laid, Amy."

"Oh my God, GET OUT!", the brunette yelled at him, not amused at all, and threw her pillow at her brother as she held the blanket up to cover her body. Owen just chuckled; his eyes still closed since they had made the most of last night. "This is not funny!", she complained.

"Kinda is.", her fiancé smirked, finally opening his eyes. "And he brought breakfast. He is great.", he added convinced and sat up too to kiss her. Derek had left the room to accept one of the many deliveries of furniture that were to come. This time, they had brought the four beds.

"Sometimes.", Amelia admitted and gave in by grabbing the coffee before she walked into the bathroom to get ready for the day. Once they had had breakfast, everybody else arrived around 9:30am. "Hi!", she greeted Teddy, Tom, Megan, Nathan, Jo, Alex, Stephanie, Richard, and Arizona.

"Alrighty, so there isn't that much to do today since the kids will be coming here after their nap. We can order whatever you want for lunch.", Owen informed their friends, already having planned this out again since he had known about the beds arriving today.

"Sounds great! What's the plan, Hunt?", Alex asked. He would have loved to have a free Sunday but while the trauma surgeon had been his buddy for years now, he had grown to really like his fiancé as well and was ready to help.

"Well, we have to build the kids' beds and finish off the designs of the walls. I guess it would make sense to split up into groups. Who can build stuff?", the neurosurgeon took over, waiting for some of them to raise their hands.

"Meg, put your hand down, you cannot put furniture together.", Nathan reminded his girlfriend and chuckled at her enthusiasm, causing her to pout and her brother to laugh. His own hand was raised though.

"Great, I think it makes sense to have one bed assigned to two people. Wilson, Karev, please take care of Layla's bed. Arizona, you and Richard put Logan's bed together and Derek and I will deal with Leo's new crib. We don't want it to be built into a normal bed yet, although it would be possible. Teddy, you shouldn't put stuff together and you and Koracick could practice designing a small kid's room. Nate, you caused my sister to be whiny, take care of it, you get Logan's room. Stephanie and Ames, Layla's room is yours as per request of my daughter.", the trauma surgeon planned.

"Perfect, what are the designs?", Jo wondered excitedly. She loved doing such stuff and even if she would put together the five-year-old's bed, she still wanted to know about the themes of the rooms.

"Well, Logan doesn't want much. Just some wall stickers that are nature themed. Trees, a pond, flowers and so on. I'm going to show you where everything is. Leo's room is going to be animal themed. I was gonna go with only lions, but Owen thinks he will hate it once he understands what I did there, so I ordered several different animal stickers, including lions, of course.", Amelia shared, feeling like a genius anyway. "And Layla wants a fantasy world with dragons, unicorns, fairies, magic trees, penguins, just don't ask please, and knights and stuff."

"Perfect, let's get started then!", Teddy requested, excited to design the boy's walls. Since they were so many people, it didn't actually take them too long and they were done around lunch, some of them even before, so they could get started on the huge bed of the couple too, although it hadn't been planned.

"Dad, mom!", Logan beamed upon seeing his parents when he arrived at the new house with his grandma, his siblings, and the husky. He happily hugged them. "You are wearing your ring again.", he noticed.

"I am. Your father proposed yesterday, and we are actually going to get married this time.", the brunette explained, causing Evelyn to smile and embrace them. "Hi, babies!", she greeted her younger children too before she watched Layla run off to look at her new room.

"Woah!", the little girl shouted. "I LOVE IT!", she excitedly exclaimed, causing them to chuckle downstairs. "IT'S BEAUTIFUL!", she yelled. Owen lifted Ellie into his arms to snuggle with his dog, while his fiancé picked up Leo, who could climb the stairs by himself, but she had missed her tiny boy a lot.

"Let's go see your room too, buddy!", the redhead suggested, watching the eleven-year-old happily nod. He had waited for his turn again, always so patient. "We really hope you like it. Your bed is in there already."

"It's amazing!", Logan's face lit up. He hadn't expected his parents to go all in and actually grant his wishes that had just been a vision to him two days ago. "All of it is perfect.", he informed them and clapped his hands.

"Yeah, it's pretty.", his sister appeared next to him. "But you gotta see my room, which is the best.", she shared, penetratingly staring at him and nodding, almost as if she was straight out of a comic book.

"Alrighty.", her brother laughed, took her hand, and let her guide him into the purple room next to his. He decided to play along, even though he liked his own much better. "You are right, this is really perfect. Can we see Leo's room?"

"Yeah, it's right over here.", his mother replied, pointing to the room on the other side of his. "Which one is your fav, Evelyn?", she whispered, not wanting to break anyone's happy bubble.

"They are all wonderfully made.", her future-mother-in-law praised. "But if I had to choose, I actually think that I like Logan's room best.", she mumbled to the neurosurgeon. "Yours?"

"Layla's. I made it.", she laughed. "Would have been Leo's if it had been lion themed only.", she joked, knowing that Owen could hear her. He just turned around and caught her off guard by holding Eleanor up to her face, so she could lick it. "Ewww!", she giggled. "What's your favorite one?"

"Leo's. Animals are great.", her fiancé let her and his mom know while the children explored their new rooms. Even their youngest son inaugurated his own by touching the walls with his tiny fingers.
