"Okay, I told Robert to be here in half an hour, so we can get our stuff and something to eat first.", Teddy told everyone after they had left the plane. It was extremely early in Germany but basically time for dinner in Seattle.

"Sounds good! I'll get Eleanor and join you guys later, alright?", Owen suggested, causing his wife to nod. The group separated, so some of them could get all the luggage and the others would take the children to get something to eat.

"We gave Robert and Jenny a list of certain groceries to shop for us, so we will have enough food in the fridge once we wake up.", Tom shared as soon as they were all back together, waiting for Teddy's friend to pick them up.

"Great. How about we all go to bed and those who are awake first make brunch? Everyone else can join once they're ready and then we don't have the pressure of preparing lunch as well.", Derek explained and again, everybody agreed.

When they had finally arrived at the mansion and thanked Teddy's friend, it was time for the children to be brought to bed. Not only was it 4am now but also did they have an exhausting day, even if it had only been filled with travelling.

"Can you get the kids ready for bed without me? I wanna go for a walk with El. She's been on that plane for hours and got to go potty after, but she didn't have much time outside to get her energy out.", Amelia asked her husband, who agreed.

"We'll join you.", Maggie decided. "It's not the best idea to go for a walk in another country in the dark by yourself.", her sister explained, causing the brunette to nod gratefully. She didn't want her friends to take the husky without her though because Eleanor hadn't had much family time at all today. "Good night, babies!", she told her children and hugged them all.

---

"Good morning!", Owen greeted his brother-in-law when he walked into the kitchen about four hours later and was ready to follow the plan of making brunch. To his surprise, the neurosurgeon had beat him to it and already started.

"Of course, it had to be you.", Derek sighed. He had been like this towards the redhead ever since he came back from Iraq. "You can make eggs, bacon and sausages.", he ordered, not in the mood for a longer conversation.

"Derek, what is your problem?", the trauma surgeon wondered, annoyed. "I have been back for months now, and Amelia has forgiven me, so why can't you?", he wanted to know angrily.

"Because you treat her like crap and my baby sister might be naïve enough to believe it's not going to happen again, but I know it will. You are ruining her!", the brunette accused, mad at his colleague.

"No, I don't. I made mistakes; I know that. But I love Amelia and our kids and dog more than anything and I am not letting you stand there and say to my face that I am not treating her well, because that is not true. You joining us for the trip wasn't my favorite thing either, but she wanted it and so I let it happen.", his brother-in-law fought back, getting started on the task his counterpart had given him since the others had to get their brunch, even if the guy currently acted out.

"Oh wow, how heroic of you! Well done, Owen!", the neurosurgeon ironically replied and sarcastically applauded. "What a great guy you are.", he added and then chose to ignore the other man.

"At least I didn't drunkenly throw away our engagement ring or started my relationship without having ended the former one.", Owen provoked and noticed he had hit a nerve. He didn't come here to fight but if his friend decided that this was the time, he wouldn't chicken out.

"Enough!", Meredith stopped them angrily, holding Ellis close to her. "Are you both out of your minds? Derek, stay out of it! If Amelia has forgiven him, so can you. This is none of your business! And Owen? Stop with the low attacks. You don't have to bring up stuff that happened years ago, just because you cannot think of anything that was going on recently.", she scolded the men. "Amelia is so excited for this trip, so none of you get to blow this for her!"

"My kids are awake.", the redhead searched for an excuse to leave the room, at least it was actually true. He felt ashamed for getting called out like that and the last thing he wanted was to destroy this vacation for his wife. "Hi, sweethearts!", he greeted the twins and got them ready for the day.

When he took them back downstairs twenty minutes later, he noticed Leo sitting in Derek's lap, drawing a picture together with him. The boys were still sleeping or at least not in the mood to get up yet and a small glance into the bedroom had showed him that Layla was getting her mama-morning-snuggles. Ellie had joined them.

Seeing his brother-in-law with his son caused him to be even more pissed since his irrational brain felt like he was trying to win his children over. By now, almost everybody was awake and downstairs. Evelyn was reading with Fiona on the couch.

"Hey, are you okay? You seem tense.", Amelia whispered ten minutes later. Layla had joined Zola, Bailey, and Meredith in preparing the fruits and some vegetables and she had given Eleanor breakfast before she had walked over to her husband to hug him from behind as he watched the twins play with each other, Ellis, and Daniel. "Don't lie to me!", she warned softly.

"I've had a little fight with your brother this morning, but it's nothing to worry about, Honey.", the trauma surgeon promised, slightly pulling on her arm to embrace her normally and kiss her head. "Just about the old stuff."

"I can talk to him...make him understand that he has to stay out of it.", his wife suggested and shrugged, but when she looked up at him, he shook his head before he pressed a kiss to her forehead.

"Wouldn't change anything. And also, if I'm completely honest, if it was Megan who had gotten hurt by Nate, I probably wouldn't let him off the hook either. So, let's just let it go.", Owen asked, causing her to nod and to receive another kiss, this time on her lips.
