Saturday, 31st December:
Logan: 13; Layla: 7; Leo: 4; Twins: 1; Eleanor: 2

"This is so nice.", Amelia sighed, laying in Owen's arms as they watched TV. Layla got to celebrate New Year's Eve with Zola and her family, Logan was at Atlas' house with their friends and his parents, Leo and the twins were already asleep.
"It is. Just relaxing instead of making this a big party as usually.", her husband agreed. "I've loved the vacation, but I don't have to have everyone around again as of yet.", he chuckled, kissing her head. "Also, I think it's nice for Ellie to have us here...poor baby.", he said, looking over at the sleeping husky. They had given her some medicine to be able to calm down.
"Yeah.", the brunette pouted. "Honestly though, all four kids in this house are sleeping. Maybe we should make the most of our alone time.", she figured and looked up at him to bite her lower lip.
"Actually, that is such a good idea.", the trauma surgeon grinned, muting the TV. He immediately rolled on top of his wife and started kissing her passionately, holding his body up with his hands to make sure he wouldn't crush her.
"The best one I've had all day.", she praised herself in a lower voice before she wrapped her arms around her husband's neck, giving him better access to her mouth. "Happy New Year to us.", she giggled.

Sunday, 1st January:
Logan: 13; Layla: 7; Leo: 4; Twins: 1; Eleanor: 2

"Layla is back.", Amelia cheered once they had heard the bell ring. Owen was keeping the twins busy and she had been playing with Leo, who got up with his mother and grabbed her hand, wanting to greet his sister too. "Hi, Sweet-", she started but interrupted herself upon seeing her daughter, Derek, and her mother outside of her house. "-heart.", she finished. "Happy New Year, I've missed you!"
"Happy New Year, Mama! Happy New Year, Leo!", the seven-year-old innocently replied and hugged her mother first before she knelt in front of her younger sibling. "I'm gonna put on my yellow dress too, so we can be twins! Who are you today, Leo?", she softly asked.
"Leo, he, him, his.", the toddler shared, watching his sister take a mental note by nodding before she walked into the house to get changed and greet her other family members. "Who are you?", he wanted to know from the stranger.
"I'm your grandma, Leo.", Carolyn informed the kid. "And I really love your dress, suits you perfectly!", she praised him, causing him to offer a shy smile. "Amelia, Honey, it's been a hot minute. You are even more beautiful than I remember."
"Uh, thanks.", the brunette replied, a little overwhelmed. "Happy New Year to you two as well. Why don't you come in?", she questioned, stepping aside to invite her family members into the house.
"Yeah, did you?", they heard Owen talk to his daughter, who was letting her father hug her sideways as she was sitting in his lap, chatting away, and sharing whatever came to her mind about last night. "And how-", he began before he noticed his mother-in-law together with her two children. "Oh, hello Mrs. Shepherd! Nice to see you again after all these years!", he greeted her after getting up. "Derek.", he nodded.
"Major Hunt, you haven't aged a day.", the grey-haired-woman joked with a wink before she shook his hand. "And who are you two sweet fellows? I've already met Layla and Leo. While I spent a lot of time with my granddaughter yesterday though, I'd love to know more about Leo, he, him, his.", she informed the boy, calling him what he had told his sister earlier, not exactly sure why but thinking it would be best.
"Oh, he has.", the female neurosurgeon meddled once Derek had excused himself to go back home to his family. "But it's no problem.", she teased her husband and smirked, making him tilt his head and frown at her. "Those are Luna and Lucas. Please don't just touch our son though.", she quickly warned.
"Your brother already told me a little about him to make sure I wouldn't overwhelm Lucas.", Carolyn let the couple know. "And who are you, sweet little Fur-Baby?", she talked to the husky that came downstairs from her nap to look for her family.
"Ejie (Ellie)!", Luna said and clapped her hands, very excited about seeing her dog. She even got up to walk over to Eleanor to be able to pet her. A few minutes later, Logan came home, announcing himself as usually.
"Greetings, Bros!", the young brunette yelled while he took off his shoes. "Happy New Year!", he also shouted before he finally walked in, embarrassing his parents by using his weird teenager language. Normally, they didn't mind it because it was rather funny but when they had guests, they wanted their son to speak different. "Oh, shoot!", he noticed his grandma.
"That's a strange way to greet somebody.", his little sister pointed out in confusion but started giggling after, running into her brother's arms. "Happy New Year, Logan!", she basically yelled directly into his ear as they hugged.
"Yeah, Happy Deaf Year to you too, Layls.", the thirteen-year-old answered before he walked over to the visitor. "Hi, Grandma!", he said, letting her embrace him, even though he wasn't as much into hugging as he used to be since it wasn't cool anymore. "What are you doing here?", he wanted to know.
"Exactly my question.", his mother mumbled under her breath, causing her husband to nudge her before he wrapped his arms around his wife and kissed her temple. "Make yourself comfortable, let's catch up.", she decided to say loudly instead.
"Mama, can I have a cheese string?", Leo asked his mom once she had walked over to the kitchen island to prepare something to drink for everyone and he had followed her, which led Eleanor to follow him. "El wants one too."
"Ella, you've had cheese with your breakfast this morning, you are a dog, not a mouse.", Amelia scolded the husky. "You can have this carrot.", she let her know and handed it to the dog, who gladly took it because it was food. "Does somebody else want cheese strings?", she loudly wondered.
"Me!", all the children, even Luna, responded immediately. Lucas just got up and walked over to his mother to make her understand that he wanted cheese strings as well, but with a stranger in the house, he wouldn't talk.
"Oh Honey, I would have brought you some anyway.", the brunette told her baby and lifted him into her arms. "Let's go to the couches. Eat here, then you Guys can go play.", she made a deal with her kids. "Logan, Layla, I wanna see all of your homework beforehand though because tomorrow is school."
"Fine.", the oldest kids sighed dramatically and went to get their homework before they could sit back down to eat the cheese strings. "See? All done!", they proudly grinned.
"Are you siblings? Because you behave like some.", their father chuckled at the way they did everything similarly. He knew they were showing off in front of their grandma, but as long as they were like this, it was manageable. "Go do something fun now.", he said once his wife had looked at their homework.
