Sunday, 17th April:

Logan: 12; Layla: 6; Leo: 3; Twins: 8 months old; Eleanor: 1,5

---

Amelia sighed when she was laying in bed, awake. Leo was fast asleep next to her on Owen's side of the bed. He got to have his Saturday sleepovers until he turned 4, at least that was the plan.

Eleanor had cutely wrapped herself around the boy's feet, protecting him from the world. She loved doing that for the kids, but especially for Leo and Lucas. With the eight-month-old not often expressing himself, he had started sitting next to the husky, causing her to think he wanted her to be there for him.

And she was. Sometimes, she even acted as his pillow and let the baby sleep against her. Her owner loved those moments because she could actually see her son's face relax. He felt safe with Ellie.

It had been less than a month since Owen's departure and the family had developed a rather stabile routine. Sometimes, Evelyn would come over and help, or Derek even. But generally, with the brunette working less, she had gotten all of it figured out by now, not that it made her happy to do it alone.

Lucas had made huge progress. He was now letting his siblings touch him again, Evelyn got to take care of him, Miranda and Eleanor too. His mama was still allowed, of course. Their next goal was to have him accept Alex, who was his doctor, and Derek.

Sadly, Leo really didn't like his brother anymore. He wanted to play more roughly and to run around. All of that was part of his energetic nature while the eight-month-old hated it, of course. Luna also wasn't moving too much yet because they were so young, but at least she sometimes followed the three-year-old by crawling.

Although he didn't interact much with her, Layla had learned to be much calmer by being with her youngest brother. Sometimes, she would play, and he would come sit next to her, not doing anything, just wanting to be with her. The six-year-old would offer him a sweet smile and hand him one of the toys she was playing with to make him feel appreciated.

And Logan loved reading to the boy. He would take a book and point to it, as to ask if Lucas wanted to be read to. If he did, he would nod slightly. Strangers probably wouldn't see any differences between the staring and him nodding but the people who were close to him and loved him definitely did.

The neurosurgeon sighed again and grabbed her phone from the nightstand to text her husband. Besides her being mad at him still and probably for a while, it was their wedding anniversary. She hated that she had to spend it without him.

During calls she was busying herself to not have to speak to him and she didn't often message him. Mostly she was just sending pictures of the kids. But right now, she felt lonely and she wanted to talk to him, even if it was just through typing.

Amelia: Happy anniversary! Do you have some time?

Owen: Hey, happy anniversary! :) Yeah sure, it's my day off. I was hoping to get to speak to you today, so I decided not to work because I didn't want to miss it in case you messaged.

Amelia: I still hate you.

Owen: I know...but I love you.

Amelia: I am spending our first wedding anniversary without you, Owen.

Owen: Could you please use emojis? You always do. :(

Amelia: Fine...

Owen: Thank you! <3 Any plans for today?

Amelia: Keeping my children alive while eating a lot to get fat. :p

Owen: Haha. Very funny! We don't have too much time left until we see each other again. :)

Amelia: Haha. Very funny! (See what I did there?) Because over five months seems like quite a lot to me...

Owen: Yeah, you little jokester. Okay, you're right, but I meant that we already made it through a month without one another.

Amelia: Almost.

Owen: Why are you even awake? It's 1am in Seattle.

Amelia: Couldn't really sleep.

Owen: Obviously...how come you never send pictures of Lucas?

Amelia: Because he doesn't like cameras.

Owen: Are you lying to me? He is a baby...

Amelia: Of course not. :)

Owen: I am pretty sure you are. :D What's really going on?

Amelia: Nothing. I gotta go to bed now. Love you, I guess.

Owen: You guess? :(

Amelia: Stop being annoying. I could have said I hate you again.

Owen: Fair enough. I love you, too! Are you gonna be mad at me again when I call in the evening?

Amelia: Most likely.

Owen: Alright. It was fun texting with you though. <3 Thank you for taking the time to message me. :) Sleep well!

Amelia: Yeah, thanks. Bye! :)
