"Buddy, don't let go of the leash!", Owen told his son. Since their new house wasn't too far away, they had decided on walking there. Logan was holding Eleanor's leash, while Layla held Amelia's hand and the redhead was pushing the stroller with Leo in it.

"I'm not stupid, dad.", the eleven-year-old reminded his father and jokingly rolled his eyes at him. "What will we do for Halloween? Can I pick a costume, please?", he requested excitedly.

"Sure.", his mother said. "We will go trick or treating with your cousins. Do you already know what you would like to dress up as?", she curiously wondered, also looking at her daughter, who of course had an idea.

"I wanna be a dragon!", Layla shared happily. "Can I? Please! Please! Pretty please!", she begged, putting on her biggest smile, making her parents chuckle.

"Yes, you can.", the trauma surgeon gave his permission. "What do you wanna be, baby?", he asked Logan, who was still carefully thinking about it. "Maybe a dinosaur or a ghost or a vampire.", he figured. "I don't know yet. What will you guys dress up as?"

"You still have a few days. But I need to know on the 20th, so I can make sure your costume arrives in time.", Amelia pointed out. "No clue. What will we be, babe?", she wanted to know from her boyfriend.

"I was thinking we could be football players and Leo can be the ball.", the redhead answered dead seriously, causing his two eldest children to start laughing which made his youngest kid giggle too, while Ellie just turned around in confusion upon hearing the noises.

"Are you kidding?", his girlfriend questioned. "Because I really hope you are, but I cannot read you right now.", she informed him, staring into his innocent looking eyes. "Why do I feel like you aren't kidding?", she shook her head.

"Because I am not. Thought it was a fun idea for a costume.", Owen shrugged. "Do you have a better one?", he challenged and smirked at her, watching her think about it. "Let's gather some suggestions until tomorrow night and then we can choose one.", he decided since they had arrived.

"Ms. Shepherd, Mr. Hunt, good day!", the house realtor greeted them. "Hello, children!", he smiled at the kids, who said hi to him too. "My name is Kenny. Would you like me to give you the tour before you look around by yourselves?", he asked.

"Sounds good.", Amelia nodded. The house had two floors. Downstairs were a guest bathroom, the huge living room attached to the kitchen, the laundry room and two guestrooms, as well as a study. Upstairs it had a master bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, five more empty rooms you could do anything with and another bathroom.

"Wow, it's beautiful!", her boyfriend told her once they had had the tour and were currently standing in one of the empty rooms upstairs, where they could look outside at the huge yard that had a deck and a pool for now.

"It really is.", the brunette sighed, absolutely amazed. "So, what's stopping us? Let's buy it.", she suggested and pecked his lips. "Can you take care of the contract while I help the kids choose a room?", she wondered, causing the trauma surgeon to nod, glad that she was so excited about this. "Give me Leo."

"Mommy, can we pick a room now?", Layla asked happily and jumped up and down, so Eleanor mimicked her. Logan just chuckled at the excitement of his little sister. She truly was his everything.

"Of course!", the neurosurgeon grinned. "You can choose any room you want.", she told her kids. "And once you have picked one, I will do the same for your brother.", she informed them softly.

"Any room I want?", her daughter mischievously repeated, holding her chin with her pointer finger and thumb to look like she was thinking, her eyes halfway closed. "Alrighty, I'll choose the huge one with the bathroom.", she giggled.

"Haha, very funny, little Miss.", her mother scoffed amused and playfully rolled her eyes at her as she shook her head and smiled at her five-year-old's humor. "Try again.", she ordered bossily.

"I knew you would say no but I wanted to see your face.", Layla laughed before she actually went to explore the rooms. "Logan, come with me!", she demanded, sounding just like her mom had a few seconds ago.

"Duty calls.", the boy shrugged and followed his sister. Amelia felt her boyfriend wrap his left arm around her and kiss her cheek as he blew some air out of his nose after having listened to the conversation they had had.

"I wonder where she's got that from.", he joked, winking at his baby in her arms. "Do you already have a room for him in mind?", he wanted to know. "I mean, if the other two don't want it.", he added.

"Yeah, the one next to our ensuite.", the brunette answered, leaning against him as they waited for their children to come back and tell them about their choices. Kenny had left once the contract had been signed and Owen was now holding on to the sets of keys.

"The house is officially ours.", the trauma surgeon shared, enjoying the moment. "What do you think about asking my mom to watch the kids at the other house tomorrow and on Sunday and we text the group chat about who would be up to help tomorrow. Then they leave and we spend our first night here together."

"And we'll do what?", his girlfriend whispered, already aware of the answer. "Still, sounds like a wonderful idea. Derek is probably the one to text back first in full excitement, thinking he gets to make choices."

"Don't be so mean to him.", Owen scoffed. "And that's for me to know and you to find out.", he explained. "Did you two find a room?", he asked the kids once they came back and nodded, showing their parents which ones they wanted.
