"Amelia...", Owen begged, waiting for her on the couch. "Let's please just talk about it and this time without fighting and calmly.", he requested, not expecting her to actually be done. That was until she threw the divorce papers onto the coffee table in front of him without saying anything. "No...", he whispered. "NO!"

"I am tired of having this argument over and over again. You asked me what I was thinking about you leaving, I told you that I didn't want it and you went anyway. We'll have an appointment with the lawyer tomorrow.", the brunette announced coldly.

"You already signed them?", her husband's heart broke. "I want us to fix this. I thought that serving again was what I needed but now I realize that this isn't true. I need you guys.", he explained, desperately trying to save his marriage. "Don't you love me anymore at all?", he asked sadly.

"I hate you more than I love you.", Amelia answered emotionlessly. "You're too late. I want you to move out by the end of the month and I will try to get full custody of the kids, just so you know. Not that you care since I was living the life of a single mom for half a year already."

"You can't do that to me!", the trauma surgeon argued, tearing up. "Don't you ever say that I don't love my children!", he demanded, feeling attacked. "I told you that I needed to go back then."

"And you went!", his wife barked back. "Without even considering the fact that I would be alone with five kids, a husky, and a job. You were gone for six months, Owen. And during those six months I started to love you a little less each day."

"Stop hurting me.", the redhead cried, acknowledging the distance she was keeping from him. "Stop saying that. I know you still love me, just like I still love you more than anything.", he said, gazing into her blue eyes.

"Stop hurting you?", the neurosurgeon chuckled bitterly. "Sure, why not? Especially when all you have done was hurting me. But yes, let's make this about you again. In order not to hurt you, I will leave you here to sign those papers and I am going to go to bed. Have to take the children to school in the morning anyway. Meet me at the address that I'll text you at 9am."

"Do you want this?", Owen followed his wife into the bedroom that used to be theirs and pointed to the divorce papers in his hand. "Do you really want this?", he repeated, hoping to hear a clear no from her.

"I wish I didn't, but I honestly don't see any other way. I will never be able to forgive you for leaving.", the brunette admitted, finally letting him see her pain through her eyes. "You ripped my heart out by doing so and I had no time to fall apart because I have five kids to take care of. So, I will be better once you're out of my life for good."

"Okay.", her husband mumbled, walking over to their desk to finally sign the papers, too. "I can't force you to stay with me. I don't want you to be hurting. But I am not going to let you keep my children from me. So, if you feel the need to take this matter to the lawyer tomorrow, be ready for a fight. One that I am going to win."

"You're so self-centered, it's disgusting.", Amelia replied and shook her head, not able to recognize the person she had once loved. "I would rather jump out of that window than look at you. So, just leave my room and my life and never come back!"

"Sure. I am. You can be glad that I am in love with you, because otherwise nobody would be, leaving you to date the guy that stalked you.", the trauma surgeon wanted to hurt her back. If she could insult him, so could he. "Don't ignore me!", he ordered once he had realized that she wasn't going to respond to his provocation.

"Mommy, I wanna sleep with you.", Leo whined as he strolled into his parents' bedroom. He hadn't so much as acknowledged that his father was back, although he hadn't been a mama's child when he was younger.

"You can also come have a sleepover with daddy.", the redhead suggested, trying to get his kids on his side. His son just made a face and shook his head. "Oh, wow.", he commented. "You must be loving this."

"Yep.", his wife confirmed. "Can't blame him. Worst case scenario.", she mumbled while the boy got comfortable in the huge bed. "You absolutely deserved this after what you have said to me before he came in here."

"But we can share the bed with you.", the three-year-old had an idea which he thought would make everybody happy, not aware of his mother currently hating his father. "Right, mama?", he wondered, and she just nodded, wanting to get out of here as fast as possible.

"Perfect!", Owen took his chance and winked at the woman he was still in love with, ready to win her back. "Since you two are ready for bed, I'll just get changed pretty quickly.", he informed them.

For a moment, Amelia considered sleeping on the floor but then she would have to explain to Leo why she wasn't joining them in bed, so she just rolled with it. "El, get comfortable. It's time to sleep.", she told her husky and kissed her snout. "Good night, buddy."

"Won't we wait for daddy?", the little blonde asked in confusion when his mother wrapped her arms around him and told him to close his eyes while she closed hers as well. "He saided he would be back."

"I'm too tired.", the neurosurgeon replied, and it wasn't even a lie. She wouldn't get any less sleep, just because her husband figured he had to accompany them tonight.
