"Why were you so nervous?", Owen asked once the couple had climbed into the car and started driving home, where he'd take over watching the twins and she'd take her own car to work. "Anything I should know?"
"Uh, no.", his wife replied, trying to remain calm and cool as she stared ahead at the road. "Why?", she added, thinking it would make sense for her to ask that if there was truly nothing for him to be concerned of.
"Well, maybe because the two of you have a history?", the trauma surgeon reminded her. "And you tried very hard not to look at him.", he said, feeling himself getting angry because of the jealousy that was taking over his ability to think clearly.
"I was just surprised to see him; I simply didn't expect him there. You were also shocked.", Amelia pointed out, wanting to change the topic as soon as she could and therefore crossing her arms as a sign that she was already annoyed by the conversation.
"Doesn't answer why you avoided eye contact with him.", her husband answered and sighed, now also mad at the fact that she clearly wasn't being honest with him, which only caused him to be even angrier.
"Because-", the brunette started, but didn't really wanna give a response since she didn't even know herself. "You don't have to be worried.", she told him. "What are you going to have for lunch?", she questioned, finally changing the topic. "Owen, please don't do that. Don't give me the silent treatment.", she begged about two minutes later when he had just ignored her.
"I'll answer your question as soon as you have answered mine.", the redhead informed his wife. Since they both were such stubborn people, the remaining drive was filled with a heavy silence.
"Hi, Guys!", Jake greeted the couple once they had arrived and heard Amelia barely mumble a 'hey'. "What's up with her?", he wondered, addressing his friend. "No luck with the new daycare?"
"Nah, the daycare is fine. It's the supervisor.", Owen shared. "It's the guy she almost cheated on me with and now we aren't talking because she's mad I am reading so much into it, and I am pissed because she isn't being honest with me."
"Mama!", Luna ran into her mother's arms, followed by her same-aged brother and her husky. "Sway (stay)?", she asked her excitedly and gave her a slobbery kiss on her mouth, making her mom chuckle.
"No Honey, mama has to go to work now. But you'll stay here with your daddy.", the neurosurgeon announced to the twins and gave them another kiss before she grabbed her stuff for work. "Bye.", she said to the men and cuddled Eleanor, who had followed her into the hallway.
"Yeah, I don't think I'm gonna get in the middle of that.", the gynecologist figured and gently touched his friend's shoulder before he also said his goodbyes and drove to work, where he watched Amelia storm into her office and shut the door angrily.
"What's with her? Weren't you babysitting the twins just now?", Cooper questioned, confused by the woman's attitude. He knew she had a temper, but ever since she had gotten married and was part of a functional family, she seemed rather chill.
"She's not mad at me or because of me, she's angry at Owen.", Jake clarified. "Let's just give her a moment to gather her thoughts and calm down and maybe she'll want to talk to somebody after.", he suggested.

"Okay, here's Miss Leo, so we are finally ready to go home.", Amelia told her three oldest children after picking them up from their schools. Of course, Anton had to leave at the same time, and she found herself staring at him as he walked over to his car.
"Mom, why are we looking at a stranger for one minute straight?", Logan nonchalantly asked from the passenger seat while his siblings, who were occupying two of the backseats, followed his gaze that was now resting on the blonde man as well.
"That's your baby-siblings' new daycare teacher.", the brunette quickly found an answer that wasn't a lie. "But you are right, staring at other people is rude.", she remembered what she always told her kids. "Let's go home."
"I hope they're nicer to Lucas here.", Layla meddled. "Because it's not okay to exclude anyone just because they're different.", she wisely informed everyone in the car and all three of her family members nodded in agreement.
"I am pretty positive that your brother will get treated equally as everybody else in his group.", her mother reassured her children, who were also worried about their little sibling, even though they couldn't really understand everything that was going on.
"I hope so.", the toddler commented the statement. "What's the supervisor's name, Mama?", she wanted to know. "Mine is called Mrs. Lucardo.", she said matter-of-factly, giving anyone an information they already had.
"His name is Mr. Grady.", the neurosurgeon replied, about to leave the property when she saw Anton wave at her. She swallowed heavily before she waved back because the kids weren't supposed to realize something was up. "Now, how was school?", she changed the topic and finally sped onto the road to drive them home.
"Schoolish.", the teenager pointed out, thinking that was everything she needed to know, but when his mom cleared her throat, he knew he was supposed to elaborate. "We wrote the Spanish test, and it was fine. Other than that, school was pretty normal."
"It was good.", his seven-year-old sister continued. "I liked everything we did today.", she added. "I even got to tell everybody about our weekend.", she excitedly exclaimed. "How was your day, Leo?"
"Great, we've had mashed potatoes and fish sticks for lunch.", the mini blonde answered. "But I forgot what we did in class.", she giggled cutely. "You can look into my folder, Mommy. I have to do some homework too."
