"I hope I am not intruding.", Owen shyly said as he walked into Amelia's patient room, holding three pizza cartons. "But I was told you ordered a pizza earlier and all you've gotten was rescued.", he joked, hoping it wasn't too soon for humor. When the brunette started laughing, he beamed at her. Logan giggled, too.
"Aren't you going to have dinner with Cristina now that you're childless again?", the neurosurgeon wondered softly. Her friend should go back to living his own life instead of wasting his time on hers.
"Hm, no, still my ex.", the redhead replied. "She was here to help us find you and went back to her hotel earlier. Salami for you, buddy. I haven't had that many salami pizzas ever before in my life.", he told the boy, who chuckled, knowing his choices of food had been a challenge for the trauma surgeon the past few weeks. "Derek told me that you like cheese pizza with tomatoes the most.", he said and handed his colleague the carton.
"And Hawaii for you.", Logan guessed what Owen's pizza was and of course, he was right. "A crime!", he informed him and looked at his mother who nodded in agreement. "Thanks, Owen."
"Yeah, thank you.", Amelia repeated her son's words softly. "So, how was it? Having a kid that is about to start puberty around?", she questioned and was nudged by her child, which made her giggle and her boss scoff in amusement.
"Pretty cool, mostly.", he answered and received a death glare that wasn't meant to do any harm. "That's why I said mostly.", the redhead told the young brunette. "And also, the fact that making him get out of the car and into school sometimes took fifteen minutes.", he added.
"To be fair, my mom had been kidnapped.", the ten-year-old reminded everyone and noticed how his mother closed her pizza carton after eating only one piece. "I'm sorry, mama!", he quickly apologized. "I didn't mean to!"
"Don't worry, sweetie. I just...I have to slowly get back on track with casual things. He fed me all the time...so, eating by myself somehow feels wrong although I know it isn't.", the neurosurgeon explained and looked up at the ceiling in shame.
"I can feed you!", Logan offered cutely, causing her to smile at him but shake her head and excuse herself to use the bathroom. She stared at herself in the mirror inside, hardly able to realize that she finally got to have some privacy while she used the toilet.
"I know it's so unfair to consume your time and I am really ashamed of asking you to do this, but could you watch him for a few minutes while I take a shower, please?", Amelia nervously asked her boss as she walked into the room over to the closet to get fresh clothes, which Meredith had brought her after Owen had left to get dinner.
"Amelia, you have nothing to be ashamed of. Of course, I will!", her friend responded kindly. He actually felt like something was missing when Logan wasn't around him anymore since he had spent so much time with the boy the past weeks.
"Okay, I can finally fully go back to being a mom.", the brunette joked as she left the bathroom. "Thank you again!", she said softly, basically dismissing her boss, who didn't get up from the armchair. "Owen, you can go live your life.", she chuckled cutely.
"Personally, I think it's a better idea to stay here with you guys tonight and make sure you get some sleep.", the trauma surgeon slowly suggested, not wanting to pressure her into anything. "If you are fine with it.", he added.
"Sure.", the neurosurgeon shrugged. "Here baby, you can eat some of those and then I want you to brush your teeth.", she told her son while throwing a bag of gummy bears from a get-well-soon-basket from some colleagues at him. "Maybe the three of us can watch a movie before sleep once you did."

"I thought you loved me, and I trusted you, but you lied to me!", James realized, his sad eyes staring into her guilty ones.
"Amelia, hey...you're okay. It's alright!", Owen tried to calm down his friend as she opened her eyes in horror. He had been staying awake a little longer to be able to help her in case such situations occurred. Nobody knew what she had been through. "Just take a deep breath!", he softly ordered watching her grab his hand with her sweaty one.
"Have you ever betrayed the person you loved?", Amelia asked a few minutes later after they had sat in silence and she had been able to recover from her dream. It wasn't exactly a dream but rather a memory. Logan was fast asleep next to her in bed.
"Yeah...I...uhm...I cheated on Cristina once.", her friend admitted in shame and looked at the floor. "Why?", he wondered curiously as he glanced back up at his colleague, who tiredly stared into his eyes.
"I have too. When the cops stormed the house and James heard them, he didn't try to fight anyone. He didn't even get up from his spot in front of his puzzle. The only thing he did was glancing up at me as he said: I thought you loved me, and I trusted you, but you lied to me!", she answered and sniffled. "He teared up and let them arrest him without fighting back. And I am so crazy for still being in love with him after all this. I know I am. But all he wanted was to be with me. And I understand that he hasn't been in his right mind. I now also agree with you guys about him being dangerous. But he wouldn't have hurt me, ever. At least that's what I believed until I watched him kill his friend in front of my eyes."
"Oh my...uhm, do you...would you like to talk about it?", the redhead offered gently. She was still holding his hand. "I mean, you don't have to but if you want to, I am here to listen.", he softly promised.
"Well, where do I start? With the murder or how I suggested we could make a baby in there? Maybe I need a shrink. Actually, I don't really want to tell you tonight. I do want to do it someday but not right now. My son likes you and I need to make sure you won't run from us.", the brunette decided. "Go take the bed that was brought in for Logan over there."
