"Maaamaaaa!", Layla yelled when she came home from the beach with her dad and took off her sandy shoes. "Whoops...", she noticed the mess she had made, when her mother joined them in the hallway.

"Hey, you little sand-monster!", Amelia chuckled and tightly hugged her sweaty daughter. "You made my house dirty.", she jokingly complained and kissed her head. "How was it, Honey?", she asked while she walked over to her husband to kiss him.

"Amazing! They said I can come play with them once a week.", the seven-year-old excitedly shared. "Can I have some chips?", she wanted to know. It wasn't that she was hungry, but there was always some space left for snacks in her tummy.

"First, the two of you can take a shower, especially you, little Miss.", the brunette ordered with an amused scoff. "But before, you will clean the sandy mess you left on the floor and then you are going to greet our guests."

"Daddyyyyy!", Leo was the second one to yell through the house, running down the stairs and into his father's arms. "Mama's friends are here.", he shared what he thought was news to his dad. "They're helping with the house."

"Oh, I didn't know.", Owen played dumb and kissed his toddler's head. "Thanks for telling me. We're gonna greet them now.", he decided, carrying his four-year-old through the house, as his wife introduced him and Layla to her LA family.

A while later, they all had lunch together and during the afternoon, everybody left to pick up their children and go home or work some more, leaving the Hunts alone and giving them some private time, since it was their last free time before the kids would go to their new schools tomorrow.

"Mama, what if I don't like it there?", Leo wondered. First, they would drive Logan and Layla to their primary and middle school and then, they would bring the mini blonde to her new Pasadena Waldorf pre-school, which was a bit further away than they had expected but still located in Los Angeles.

"Sweetie, we are just going to look around today and a nice person is going to explain everything to us and then we can make a decision until the weekend. You won't stay there today, but mama is going to take you to the practice with her and the babies.", her father informed the little girl softly. "Logan, are you excited?"

"Don't know yet. I'm glad I have Henry, because I hate having to find new friends.", he sighed, stating the obvious since it was no secret how much he loved his friend group in Seattle. "I just hope there aren't any bullies."

"If there are, you will have to tell us!", Owen reminded his son firmly but gently. "We are going to take care of it.", he promised. "Layls, what about you? Ready to find new friends?", he asked, causing the girl to nod ambitiously. "Perfect."

"Here we are, Guys.", Amelia told her eldest children and got out of the car to grab them their backpacks from the trunk. "Remember, we love you!", she told them and hugged them both, kissing their heads. "Here you go.", she said, handing each of them a drinking pack. The kids didn't get those oftentimes, but their mother felt like today was a great day to let them have one of these.

"Have fun on your first day!", their father added, looking out of his window, and smiling at his children, waiting for both of them to come give him a hug. "I love you and I am always with you, right here.", he told them, holding the left side of his chest.

"You are the very best dad, I will never stop saying that.", his wife beamed when she got back into the passenger seat and glanced at her husband. "And I love you for it.", she clarified, pecking his lips.

"Me!", Lucas yelled from behind. He wanted to be kissed by his mother too. She turned around to the three younger kids and blew each one a kiss since she couldn't reach them right now, causing the boy to celebrate by giggling and clapping his hands.

"I might be the very best dad, but you are the very best mom.", the trauma surgeon pointed out before he started the engine and began driving to Leo's new pre-school. The toddler was a little out of it this morning since she was scared of having to attend pre-school without her parents.

Layla was more than scared as she walked through the building over to her new classroom. Earlier, she had lied about being confident in her new environment. When she had imagined it, finding new friends seemed like the easiest task ever, but now that it had become reality, the seven-year-old wasn't so sure about it anymore, especially since she felt like all eyes were on her.

She was squeezing her drinking pack as if it would help her feel less uncomfortable and rationally, she was probably destroying it, which would cause her to be soaked in juice, which in conclusion wasn't a great way to make a first impression on new classmates and possible friends.

"Maybe we should have gone in with her?", Amelia sighed, overthinking the fact that none of them had brought their daughter inside and imagining her wander around the halls of her new primary school.

"You know the school's guidelines. No parents inside the building, unless it's for special events or picking up a sick kid.", Owen reminded her softly. "You know Layla, she's really tough.", he reassured her.
