"Daddy!", Leo yelled when she finally saw the restaurant her father, the twins, and their friends were waiting at. "I've missed you!", she informed him, running into his arms to be lifted up and hugged by him.

"And I've missed you, my sweet Angel.", Owen replied, happy to have his toddler back with him. The babies were already sitting in their chairs at the table and Amelia and Leo were coming from a playground. Although the brunette had originally planned on working this morning, she had given in to her kid's wish of going to a playground until lunch. "And I've missed you, too.", he beamed once his wife finally reached them as well.

"Why so sweet?", the neurosurgeon wondered cutely and hugged her husband, who was still holding their child, before she gave him a long kiss. "Where are my babies?", she asked, obviously aware of the fact that her husband was blocking her way.

"Here!", Luna yelled excitedly while Lucas just reached for his mother, who greeted them both with lots of kisses. "Mama!", she beamed and clapped her hands, causing her brother to repeat the action without saying the word.

"Thank you for taking care of him this morning.", Amelia addressed Addison once she had taken a seat in between her daughters. Owen was also next to Leo but had Lucas on his other side.

"Are you kidding? Of course!", the neonatal surgeon responded. "We've had so much fun together.", she shared softly. "So, how was pre-school, Leo?", she wanted to know once they had ordered their lunch.

"Good.", the four-year-old answered, still not the most talkative person when it came to recall certain events. "When is my schnitzel ready, Daddy?", she wondered, changing the topic.

"Soon, Honey.", Owen answered and kissed her head. "Until then, tell us a little more about your morning.", he suggested, very curious about how his toddler's first day had gone. "What did you do?"

"We learned something.", the mini blonde said, busily playing with her mother's dress. The brunette threw her husband a glance that said it all. She had had the exact same conversation earlier and hadn't reached anything either.

"Can you tell us what it was that you learned?", the redhead was convinced he could get some information out of his child if he just kept asking. "And how were the other kids? Did you like them?"

"Shapes and colors.", Leo sighed, really not in the mood to be interviewed like that right now. "They were nice.", she also responded to the other question her father had asked.

"Can we talk about it later if you don't want to at the moment?", the trauma surgeon tried to make a deal. If his daughter was pissed, it wouldn't make sense to keep asking, but they needed to get at least some information out of her.

"Yeah.", the toddler agreed and nodded, still playing with her mother's dress, and feeling her dad caress the back of her head, which she always liked a lot. A few minutes later, their orders arrived.

"Today, we played with Simon and Robin again.", Layla chatted away when it was dinner time. Ever since she had met Sadie, she had found other friends as well. "And in math, we were allowed to study in groups of four, so it worked out very well for us."

"That's amazing, Baby.", Amelia smiled at her child. Even Logan seemed chattier than Leo today, which was both, surprising and concerning. Although other than the fact that the four-year-old wasn't talking about pre-school, she seemed pretty normal. "What did you do in math?"

"Hard stuff. But it was easy for me.", the seven-year-old shrugged with her newfound confidence that she had lost for a few days last week. "And then, we just talked.", she giggled, aware that she wasn't allowed to chat away in class.

"Quite the example you're setting here.", her father joked, shaking his head in amusement as he smirked. "Anyway, as long as you're doing your classwork and your teacher is fine with the talking, we are too."

"Of course, Daddy.", the little brunette confirmed. "I would never do anything forbidden. Logan, what did you do today?", she wanted to know from her oldest brother, curious about how he was adjusting to their new life in Los Angeles.

"I know, you off all people here wouldn't.", the teenager chuckled sarcastically. Since his younger sister wasn't getting irony yet, he started laughing because she nodded in agreement. "My day was fine. I was hanging out with Henry and his friends. I also talked to that kid named Dustin, he's really nice."

"Sounds like everybody had an amazing day.", his mother concluded satisfied. After dinner, the children were allowed to play some more. While Owen prepared the twins for bed, Amelia did so with Leo, who was building something in her room. "You need some help here, Honey?"

"Yeah. I am not tall enough, but these have to go up there.", the toddler explained and handed her mom the pieces she was supposed to add to the top of the building. "Now it's almost finished.", she cheered.

"Looks great.", the neurosurgeon praised her kid softly. "Do you have some materials to build with in pre-school?", she once again tried to find out something about her daughter's day.

"Yes, we do.", Leo answered. "Why do you keep asking me about pre-school, Mommy? You already did and so did daddy and Auntie Addie.", she pouted, rather annoyed by all the questions.

"Well, you were there for the first time today and you don't wanna talk about it. I know you aren't quite the person to chat away about your day, but what am I supposed to think now? I feel like you are just saying your day was good to calm us down when it actually might wasn't.", Amelia replied, choosing to be as honest as possible.

"I didn't lie, it was good.", the mini blonde repeated her words from earlier and climbed into her bed, where her mama was sitting. "But I wasn't there for long, so I cannot say much."

"So, you are just exhausted then because it's a new daily rhythm to adjust to?", her mother wondered, opening her arms for the toddler to snuggle with her. "Because I just want to know if you're okay. I need to know that you're okay."

"Yeah, I don't get to play every day anymore.", the four-year-old reminded her mama. "And I don't wanna be asked about my day all the time, I wanna tell you when I want to.", she added. "Now, I just wanna cuddle."
