Owen was extremely confused when he heard somebody knock on the front door since Amelia and he weren't expecting anyone yet. They had invited his mom, Megan, Meredith, Derek, Maggie, and the kids for dinner but it was only 10:30am.

"I thought a lot about us.", a very nervous Teddy started talking, walking through the door and into the house, surprising his best friend with her unannounced visit. "When you texted me that you signed up to foster and adopt and told me you'd get two kids, I just knew I had to move back to Seattle and that I had to become their mom, because Owen, we are meant for each and-", she stopped when Logan accidentally interrupted her.

"Dad-", the ten-year-old walked into the living room and started speaking but stopped himself upon seeing the stranger. "Hello, I am Logan.", he shyly greeted her, a little confused about them having a guest. She looked just as surprised.

"Two boys?", she questioned, glancing back and forth between the baby in her friend's arms and the child. "I thought you said you had a boy and a girl.", she wondered, staring into his eyes.

"I have three amazing kids.", the redhead clarified, wrapping his free arm around his oldest son's shoulders because he was looking kind of sad after hearing Teddy say this. "And I love them all so much!", he added, kissing the young brunette's head. "What did you want to say, buddy?"

"Mom sent me to ask who knocked on the door. She can't leave Layla's room right now since she'll cheat otherwise.", Logan giggled, causing the blonde to notice the pictures on the wall of a brunette and what seemed to be her boyfriend since they were kissing.

"Tell her it's my best friend Teddy. Once they're done playing, they should come meet her.", the trauma surgeon replied softly, watching the boy leave again. "You came here because you are in love with me?"

"Yes, I came here because I am in love with you and because I know that we are soulmates who are meant to be together.", the cardio surgeon repeated. "Owen, what are you even doing? Tell me she's not your girlfriend! There are pictures of her kissing another guy on that wall and you deserve better than someone like that!"

"Than someone whose ex-boyfriend turned out to be insane, kidnapped them and killed himself in prison after three years of being together? Yes, I know he does. Still, you don't know me, and I have literally no idea who you even are. I think it would be nice to talk to each other first before we start judging one another, so let's just start this again. Hi, I am Amelia, lovely to meet you.", the neurosurgeon meddled.

"I...uh...I'm sorry.", Teddy apologized in shame. "I shouldn't have done that.", she realized. "Nice to meet you, I'm Teddy. Are you two together then?", she asked once again, noticing how the brunette was about to answer when her best friend stepped in.

"We will be!", Owen informed her seriously, knowing his colleague was going to deny it since she couldn't know about what Teddy had said about her feelings for him earlier. "This is Leo by the way and there's Layla.", he introduced his other two kids. To him it was funny how she had stormed in here claiming to be their mother when she hadn't even asked for their names. Suddenly, the doorbell rang again.

"I'll get it.", Amelia announced and left the living room to open the door, facing the five friends Logan had made during his few weeks at school before summer break had started. "Hi, guys!"

"Hi, Ms. Shepherd!", Delilah greeted her softly. "We were wondering if Logan could come to the playground two streets away from here with us.", she politely asked the brunette, hoping she'd say yes.

"Please wait here for a second, I'll go ask him if he's in the mood.", her counterpart replied. "Logan, sweetie, do you want to go to the playground with your friends?", she asked her son, who nodded excitedly, already running to the door to put on his shoes. "Does any of you have a clock somewhere?", she questioned, chuckling at Carlos, Francis, Julie, and Atlas nodding simultaneously. "Alrighty, have fun and be back for lunch at 12, buddy!"

"Hey, are you okay?", her friend worried when she walked back into the living room but stopped to lean against the doorframe, closing her eyes for a short second. "What's wrong?", he wanted to know.

"Nothing, I am good, just a little stressed.", the neurosurgeon tried to calm down her colleague when her daughter pulled her into the room a little more, just to stand in front of her mother, cross her arms and seriously stare up at her. "Are you good?"

"I wanna go to the playground, too!", Layla informed her mom and pouted cutely. Meanwhile, her dad put Leo in his playpen since the baby was getting fuzzy and bored of being carried around.

"Okay, I understand that. But you told me a few minutes ago that you would like to continue your puzzle over there and listen to one of your animal stories that I am supposed to read to you. Also, your brother wants to be with his friends for now. We can, however, go to the playground this afternoon after nap and snack time. Sounds alright?", Amelia asked, watching the girl reply with a nod before she climbed onto the couch. "Well, I think the two of you have some catching up to do and I'm going to get the book."

"Where's that blood coming from?", Teddy wondered confused once the brunette had left the room and she had noticed a few drops on the floor. When she glanced back up at Owen, his facial expression changed to an alarmed one and then they heard a loud bang.

"AMELIA!", the trauma surgeon yelled in worry, finding her lying in the hallway in between fragments of what used to be another picture of her and James that had been standing on the shoe rack and which she probably accidentally had pulled down when she had tried to keep her balance. "Babe, don't move!"

"We have to lift her out of these!", his best friend basically demanded, noticing the blood on her pants and a bruise on her forehead. At least she was slowly opening her eyes. "Did...did she just have a miscarriage?"

"No, I had an abortion a few days ago and thought there wouldn't be any more symptoms.", the brunette replied quietly, feeling Owen put her down on their bed, trying to pull the fragments out of her hair as he held her close to him. "Did you just call me babe?", she asked.

"It just happened, I...I'm sorry...", he blushed before he turned around to Teddy, who was awkwardly watching them. "Do you mind looking after the kids for a few minutes? I don't want Layla to walk through the glass and hurt herself."

"Of course!", the blonde nodded and left to do so, while the redhead quickly cleaned up the mess. Then, he helped his friend shower and treated her wound on her forehead as gently as he could by kneeling in front of the bed that she was sitting on, looking at him.

"You calling me babe was cute. I liked it.", Amelia let Owen know once he was done and put her hands on his cheeks to give him a kiss. He still looked like he was close to freaking out. "I'll take it easy for the rest of the day, promise. But I am still going to read to my daughter now. And next time I feel dizzy, I will let you know."
