"What? Now you don't even touch my food?", Teddy started the next fight, pissed at seeing Amelia pick at her pasta. The brunette was sitting across from her, Owen, and Leo, and in between Logan on her left and Layla on her right, who was sitting at the end of the table with Teddy on her other side. "I can't believe this!"

"No, it's not that! Teddy, I swear, I-", the neurosurgeon tried to explain herself but her counterpart wouldn't let her, so she started yelling too, just to bring her point across. "I haven't eaten anything but dry bread for a whole year!", she screamed while the blonde kept attacking her with angry words that weren't insults.

"STOP SHOUTING AT MY MAMA!", Layla meddled and crossed her arms in front of her chest, causing everyone to look at her and breaking Amelia's heart again, so she couldn't take it anymore and began to cry into her hands, hiding her face. "Mommy, it's okay! You don't have to be sad.", the four-year-old addressed the person she felt like was her mother and gently stroked her arm.

"I am meeting Atlas and Francis.", Logan said and left, not in the mood to see anyone fight now that his mom was back. He noticed how his father was also overwhelmed with the situation and sighed.

"Teddy, please get Leo ready for his nap while I do the same with Layls.", Owen requested, watching her nod. "Just so the two of you don't kill each other.", he added before they disappeared. He didn't consider the fact that it would take much longer to get the toddler down than the baby though.

"I didn't mean to provoke you.", Amelia mumbled when the blonde walked back into the room and sat down across from her again. By now, the brunette had eaten at least a third of the pasta. "Lunch is really tasty.", she stated.

"I know and I am sorry, too. I shouldn't have yelled at you without thinking. I should have known that I could have triggered you with that.", Teddy apologized as well. "Jealousy got the best of me and that's just unfair to you."

"I can't change the fact that Owen is still in love with me but if Leo is your son now, I am not going to steal him from you. You've built your life and I have to accept that.", her counterpart pointed out, but the tears in her eyes were betraying her.

"No. You aren't stealing him from me. He is your son and even though I love all three of the kids, they are still yours. I took over your job as a mother when they needed one but it's not like you volunteered to give them up. So, I am going to move out soon and you can get back to living your life and get to know your baby again.", the cardio surgeon decided.

"Layla, come on! See? Mama's still sitting here.", Owen sighed as he walked back in with the now crying toddler in his arms that reached for her mother, who decided to take her. "You don't have to deal with her when she's crying. It's a lot."

"No, that's especially when I have to deal with my child. And I need a nap, too. So, if it's alright, I would like to take her to the big bed with me?", the brunette shyly asked, watching her friend gratefully nod. "Let's go, my sweet baby!"

"So, this is it.", Teddy concluded, looking at her best friend, whose facial expression changed to a guilty one. "Owen, it's okay, it's fine. I was a little shocked when I walked into that bathroom, but you and I aren't a couple. You have never moved on from her and I am so happy for you that you don't have to anymore. The love of your life is back. And you two deserve to be together and to love each other. Amelia and I talked it out. Although, I would like to remain a part of the kids' lives because I absolutely love them."

"And Leo? He forgot about Amelia...", the redhead reminded his counterpart slowly. He had literally no idea what to do in that situation. He wanted his girlfriend to be the only mother of his children but taking him from Teddy was just unfair.

"He's still her son. And she was ready to give up her role in his life, so I could be his mom. But I told her what I am about to tell you. Losing him wasn't her choice. She was ripped from his world and it's not her fault. So, I would like to give her the chance of becoming his mother again. And I will move out soon. Actually, my shift starts in a few minutes. Please just get the couch ready for me.", the blonde explained.

"Thank you for being so selfless!", her best friend said. "And of course, you will remain a part of their lives. Even though I will cancel the vacation we had planned, we can still go on one at some point...you know...with everybody.", he smiled and embraced her. "I cannot believe I've finally gotten her back.", he happily teared up.

"I'm glad. Just be careful when you try to find out what has happened to her. We don't know what triggers Amelia and what she's been through. Don't be too curious and remember to use your words. Don't just touch her, ask for consent. She will slowly open up to you but give her time. Now I really have to go, otherwise I'll be late. Bye!", Teddy stated and left.

"Hey, you two need some company? Don't really know what to do with myself.", Owen joined his girls in the bedroom, keeping his distance, until his girlfriend nodded. "Gotta take my old side of the bed then, I guess.", he realized, but beamed at the thought of not having to occupy Amelia's side anymore.

"Ah, that's why my pillow smells like it's yours.", the neurosurgeon joked and chuckled when she watched his smile turn into a grin. "Now get in here, we need some peace and quiet.", she added. Layla was laying in the middle of them but clinging to her mother.

While she tiredly closed her eyes, her parents were laying on their sides, facing each other and just staring into one another's eyes. Amelia moved her left hand to reach for her boyfriend but her sleeping daughter just grabbed it and put it back onto her waist as if she sensed that something was missing.

"I love you!", the brunette mouthed instead, ready to say it a thousand times a day after not getting to do so before she went missing. She was so incredibly glad that Owen had actually waited for her and not started dating another person.

"I love you, too!", the trauma surgeon mouthed back. Something in him had kept on hoping that she was still alive, and he was so relieved that she really was. Although he still didn't know in detail what had happened to her and they probably had a long journey of healing ahead of them, in this moment he was the happiest he'd been ever since when she had whispered into his ear that she thought she loved him before she had gotten kidnapped.
