"Uhh, what are you doing here?", Owen wondered when Amelia and Teddy walked into the house. It wasn't even lunchtime yet. He was relaxing on the couch, cuddling with Eleanor while Layla slept upstairs.

Worried, he got up and noticed the distraught facial expression of his wife, who immediately stormed into his arms after taking off her shoes, holding on to him for dear life. The trauma surgeon's eyes widened as he hugged her back.

"We were at the police station.", his best friend clarified, petting the husky that had jumped off the sofa as well to greet her mama and the guest. "Stella somehow managed to send Amelia a voicemail."

"What? But she's in prison...", the redhead reminded both women. "That's impossible.", he pointed out. "When did she send the voicemail?", he wanted to know, stroking the neurosurgeon's back to calm her down. She didn't make any noises, hiding her face in his chest.

"She tried to call Amelia yesterday, but she saw the missed call only this morning.", Teddy answered, throwing her counterpart a glance that told him not to guilt shame his wife right now because she hadn't said anything earlier.

"And what did she say?", Owen asked. He didn't want to be so nosy, but they were talking about a criminal who had once kidnapped his wife for a whole year. "What did you Guys achieve at the police station?"

"She said they're watching Amelia. But we don't know who they are since Stella, Tom and Hugo are in prison and James is dead. The police are looking into it. The cop told us it could all just be fake. That prisoners sometimes illegally get a hand on phones and that this could be the reason why Stella had access to one.", the blonde explained.

"Okay.", the trauma surgeon sighed, a little overwhelmed by all the information he had just gotten. "Layla is sleeping, Eleanor was outside for a while, so I guess I'm gonna get the kids, call Logan if he wants to have lunch with us since his school ends early today anyway or if he wants to be with his friends as always until we usually pick him up, and then we can have lunch. Teddy, do you mind staying here with them? I can't, in good conscience, leave them here alone right now."

"Of course, I'll stay here. What's for lunch? I can get started on it.", the cardio surgeon offered. "Can you let Tom know that I'm here if you see him at the hospital?", she questioned, and her best friend nodded.

"Layls doesn't have a bellyache anymore, so I promised her we'd make pasta with ham and peas, her favorite food. I can send you a link to the recipe.", the redhead said, taking a step back to gently lift his wife's chin with his thumb and pointer finger. They locked eyes and his heart broke upon seeing the fear in hers. "We've got this, Honey. I told you, I would never let anything happen to you again and I meant it. I've got you, Ames.", he promised, kissing her forehead. "I love you!"

"I love you, too.", Amelia mumbled, finally giving some attention to her dog, who had patiently waited for her mama to greet her. "I know the recipe.", she addressed Teddy while she petted Eleanor.

"The baby phone is in our bedroom, so you'll know when Layla is awake. I didn't wanna disturb her by constantly opening the door.", Owen shared. "I'll be right back.", he smiled a little at his wife and pecked her lips before he touched Teddy's shoulder as a goodbye to her.

"OWEN!", the brunette followed her husband and ran outside, almost missing him. He rolled down his window and frowned at her. "Don't ask Logan if he wants to come home, just take him home. I don't want him out there. And be careful."

"Alright, I will.", the trauma surgeon replied, reaching out of the car through the window to stroke her cheek before he actually started the engine. "Lock the door.", he advised softly, waiting for her to go back inside.

"Why are you picking us up so early today?", Logan wondered as he got into the van. The twins were buckled into their seats on the first bench behind their father's driver's seat and Leo was in the back, so the teenager decided to join him. "Hey Togepi-princess, how are you doing?", he asked his brother, who wanted to be Leo, he, him, his today. (a/n: You get the idea, I'm going to stop announcing this from now on, unless Leo tells somebody.)

"I'm good.", the four-year-old cutely replied and started beaming when his brother kissed his head after buckling up next to him. "Is Layla still sick, Daddy?", he wanted to know curiously.

"Yes, your sister is still sick, but she is feeling a lot better, which is why we're having pasta with ham and peas for lunch.", the redhead announced. "And since we're cooking lunch at home and mommy and Aunty Teddy are there too, I figured we could all be home early today.", he lied to the children, not wanting anyone to freak out.

"Mama!", Luna excitedly exclaimed upon hearing what she thought was her mother's actual name. This caused Lucas to quietly clap his hands. He was always happy to be with his family. His relationship with Leo was still rocky, but they were working on it, and when he saw his siblings for the first time after a few hours, he always wanted to hug them, which included Leo.

"I know you two must be thrilled to see her.", their father chuckled, seeing his oldest son start playing with his Nintendo. "Logan, Honey, can you please wait with this until later? You'll have a lot of time after lunch.", he reminded him, not wanting his toddler to stare at an electric device so early in the day and when the little kids slept, Logan could play as much as he wanted.

"Yeah, sure.", the thirteen-year-old agreed. "Sorry, Dad.", he softly apologized, which kind of surprised his father. When Amelia asked the young brunette to put something away, he always started an argument, so why didn't he when Owen told him to wait? "Let's look at a book instead.", he decided and grabbed one out of Leo's car selection since the boy had been excited to watch his big brother play.
