"Okay, I gotta walk Eleanor now.", Amelia announced and got up to grab her jacket and put on her shoes. "El!", she called the husky that ran right up to her with a waggling tail. "Time for our walk."
"We...uh...we haven't had the time to talk yet. Are you up to doing so once you're back?", her husband carefully questioned, too nervous about all this because his marriage was at stake, and she wouldn't say anything to him.
"I guess.", the brunette shrugged before she left. "Alright, what do you want to start with?", she finally agreed to a calm conversation once she was back home two hours later and watched their dog drink some water.
"Us...the reason you hate me...what I can do to fix this.", Owen answered. "Look, I still love you so so much but if you don't want me anymore, I am not going to trap you in a life you don't enjoy. But if there is even the smallest chance that you are willing to work on us with me, please consider taking it."
"I already told you how angry I am, multiple times.", his wife sighed. "You left me here alone without taking my feelings into consideration when you did. I just...I wish I could forgive you more easily, but I can't."
"Yeah, I got that but me leaving isn't the whole reason you're that mad at me, is it? Babe, please be brutally honest with me right now.", the redhead begged. "You moved on from not forgiving me at all, so I will take this as a you want to but can't yet."
"You asked me for my opinion and then completely ignored it, Owen. And that is worse than you leaving because it literally threw into my face how you don't care about it at all. You just wanted to know what I think because you felt obligated to ask but, in the end, it didn't matter.", the neurosurgeon argued and shrugged. "And it hurts."
"It didn't not matter, Amelia.", her husband pointed out, feeling bad. "Your opinion is just as important as mine and I am sorry if I made you feel like it is not. I was so focused on serving one more time in my life, I didn't think. And you're right, that was selfish."
"I almost even let another man kiss me.", Amelia admitted, figuring she truly had to give him all the facts for this to work. She prepared herself for being yelled at but there was no response, it even seemed like he was somewhat hopeful. "Aren't you going to shout at me?"
"No. You said almost. Something must have held you back. What was it?", her husband wanted to know. "Why didn't you actually let him if you hate me that much?", he asked, his eyes scanning hers for answers.
"Because I am married.", the brunette replied as if it was the most obvious thing ever. "And I am not a cheater.", she added. "You held me back.", she told him and shrugged, waiting for him to respond.
"You signed divorce papers, technically we aren't married anymore.", Owen reminded her and scooted closer. "If I held you back that means you're still in love with me, right?", he tried to get her to say the words. "Otherwise, you wouldn't have cared."
"Owen...", his wife tried to fight the urge to touch him. She was graving his presence so badly. "We are married until we bring them to the lawyer.", she shared, trying to keep her brain from getting foggy with desire.
"Well, do you want to still bring them to the lawyer?", the trauma surgeon challenged, his voice hoarse as he imagined doing dirty stuff to her. "Because it does seem like you would rather do something entirely different right now.", he seduced.
"I am not going to have make-up-sex with you!", the neurosurgeon informed him as she started to straddle him on the couch and wrapped her arms around his neck. "We aren't finished discussing this.", she stated.
"But you are going to have sex with me?", the redhead questioned innocently, his nose touching hers as their lips kept getting closer. "Because I really want you to ride me right now.", he flirted, his hand slipping under her shirt and bra to touch her breast, drawing a hot moan from her mouth. "Come on Amelia, fuck your husband!", he ordered, finally talking her into it.
"The husband that hasn't been here?!", Derek walked into the living room, stopping them from making yet another mistake. "I will murder you, Hunt!", he yelled. "What you did was...I don't even have words for it, you weak asshole! Now leave my sister alone. You know better than this!", he scolded Amelia, who got off the trauma surgeon immediately and remembered that she truly hated him. "You're using her!"
"I am not using her! She is my wife!", Owen fought back, hating the fact that the brunette always had to meddle into everything. "Get out of my house!", he shouted angrily. "Amelia has her own brain; she can do whatever she wants!"
"Can she? Or will you make her think that she's wrong until she decides to do you? I know my sister has her own brain, she is much smarter than you ever will be, Owen.", the neurosurgeon said. "This house hasn't been yours for months, now leave you stupid bastard."
"Derek...", Amelia warned her brother while she teared up. "You were going to use me. You know I love sex and that you could make me want it when there is so much stuff...you shouldn't have seduced me. I am one step away from sending the divorce papers in, Owen."
