Sunday, 6th September:

"Mommy, daddy!", Layla ran into her parents' bedroom earlier than she usually did. "It's my birthday!", she excitedly exclaimed, waking them. Amelia tiredly sat up and yawned before she lifted her little girl onto the bed.

"Happy birthday, sweetheart!", the brunette grinned at her happy child and gave her a kiss. "How are you five already?", she wondered and pouted, which made Layla laugh as she climbed under the blanket in between them.

"I am a big girl now and not a toddler or baby anymore.", her daughter informed her and started giggling when her father tickled her belly. "And I don't hate today's birthday. The last one I didn't like because you weren't there but now you are!", she said, snuggling into her mama.

"Oh, my sweet little bean!", Amelia said, hugging the girl a little tighter while her fiancé congratulated her too. "Are you excited for your birthday party with your friends this afternoon? Since you are five now, you got to invite five friends."

"Mhh, Anne, Matteo, Sarah, Tina and Benjamin will all come.", the young brunette cheered. "When are Grandma and Auntie Meg and Farouk and Uncle Nathan going to be here?", she wondered cutely.

"For breakfast. They should arrive in half an hour.", Owen answered his little girl's question. "So, let's go choose an outfit for you and get ready while mommy gets your younger brother ready.", he suggested.

Once all five of them were in the living room together, Leo giggled as he ran into his big sister's arms to give her a sweet hug. Amelia noticed that Teddy had been in the bathroom for a while and excused herself.

"Teddy, are you okay? We have been waiting for you for ten minutes.", the neurosurgeon informed her friend, who told her to just start without her through the closed door. "Yeah, no. I'm coming in now.", she decided. "Hey, what's wrong?", she questioned as she found the blonde on the floor, crying.

"The morning sickness is so bad.", the cardio surgeon sobbed. "And on top of this, I totally destroyed your family. Right now, I wish I wasn't pregnant because everything is just so messy.", she shared in tears, letting her colleague pull her into her arms.

"Hey...", the brunette comforted her softly. "You didn't destroy anything. This baby will be an edition to this family, no matter if we are its parents or just its uncle and aunt. And you are family, too. You don't have to go through this pregnancy alone and neither do you have to work through the morning sickness by yourself. Are you worried about Tom?"

"No.", Teddy mumbled. "He said he will also love the baby no matter who its dad is.", she let her know. "I guess it's just the hormones. I'm sorry for crying into you on your daughter's birthday.", she sighed.

"There is nothing you have to be sorry for!", Amelia promised. "We're here for you and we love you.", she stated honestly, helping her friend up. "Feeling any better?", she asked worried, stroking her arms.

"Much better, thank you.", the blonde sniffled and cracked a small smile. "Sounds like Meg and Co are here.", she chuckled upon hearing her sister congratulate Layla in a very high-pitched voice, making the neurosurgeon laugh.

"Okay, here's the plan.", the brunette took over the boss-role once the family had had breakfast and her daughter had opened all her gifts, now playing Candyland in her room with her big brother and cousin. "Leo, it's my turn to share the plan.", she told her baby, who was sitting in her lap, trying to make his own ideas known.

"Leave my son alone.", her fiancé joked, sitting next to her, and kissing her cheek. He loved it when she was being bossy, even though it was a little bit annoying. "Alright, feel free to inform us about your master plan.", he teased.

"Do you have a problem?", she wanted to know sarcastically, smirking at him. He shook his head, holding up his hands in defense. "You've better not.", she winked at him and chuckled. "Good, okay. So, we'll have lunch together and then it's time for Layla's nap, which gives us enough time to prepare her birthday party. Her guests will arrive at 3:30pm and we are going to have cake and stuff. Then, Owen, Teddy, Nathan, and I will take the children to Kiddy Land and Evelyn and Meg stay here to cook dinner, so it'll be ready when we're back since tomorrow is a school day and we need pasta for fifteen people, so there's a lot of food to be made. Everyone fine with that? Teddy, if you're too uncomfortable today, you can switch with Megan."

"Dood (good).", Leo replied and nodded, looking dead serious as he stared into his mama's eyes, making everybody laugh, which caused him to start giggling as well before he sweetly leaned his head against her belly to hide his face.

"The one person who doesn't have a clue of what I just said agreed to the plan, so I am sure we're set up.", Amelia pointed out, kissing her boy's head softly. "Thank you guys for helping us out today, it means a lot."

"Oh, and we're going to have everyone else over next week for another little party, so feel free to join us then, too.", Owen remembered. "It just would have been way too much to have everybody here today."
