"Good night, baby Luna.", Owen beamed at his daughter after putting her down. Layla and Logan got to have a sleepover at their grandma's today and Leo had wanted to stay home because it was his night with his parents. His daughter was out like a light, so he figured he'd glance into Lucas' room to see how it was going with him.

"Mama!", he heard his son's sweet little voice for the first time as he was hiding behind the door. His heart was bursting with love, not just because it was so cute but especially because he knew how much happiness Amelia felt in those moments.

"Yeah, that's me. You're right about that.", the redhead listened to his wife and couldn't help but smile in his spot behind the door. He decided to give them some privacy and joined Leo in the bathroom, where he was supposed to brush his teeth.

"This is not how you brush your teeth, angel.", the trauma surgeon reminded the three-year-old, who innocently grinned at him before he focused back on pushing his toy car around the bathroom floor. "Hey, it's time to stop playing.", he said and chuckled.

"But I am having fun, daddy!", Leo complained and pouted when he watched his father hold out his hand for him to put the toy in it. "Fine!", he dramatically sighed and grabbed his toothbrush from the tiny sink for kids.

"Why are you still brushing?", Amelia questioned in confusion when she joined them. The boy had been brushing his teeth for almost ten minutes now and even though he didn't know what time was, he had an hourglass in front of him to figure out when to stop.

"Are you going to tell mommy, or do I have to?", Owen gave him an ultimatum, causing the mini blonde to point to his dad. "Somebody was playing with this toy car in here instead of brushing his teeth."

"Again, Leo?", his wife asked, seemingly annoyed. "We have had this conversation. You get to play all day. In daycare, at home inside and outside. But when it's time to eat or get ready for the day or for bed, playtime is over. It's not like you're missing out on anything, baby.", she scolded her son, causing him to throw his toothbrush into the sink, cross his arms, and start crying.

"Come on Leo-", the redhead was about to say something but one glance into Amelia's direction was enough for him to shut up as she glared at him. "I'm gonna get your sheets.", he decided instead and left the room.

"Sweetheart, come here please, come to mama.", the brunette gently insisted after sitting down on the floor against the heater. She was patting her lap for the toddler to take a seat. Hesitantly, the three-year-old stomped over to her. "What's the matter, buddy?"

"Daddy took my car away.", Leo continued sobbing loudly, causing his father to eavesdrop again in his spot behind the door. He wanted to know what was going on with their child as well.

"Yes. And I would have done the same thing. Because you know better, angel.", his mother argued softly. "Is that really why you are crying right now? The only reason? Because those are some big tears coming out of your eyes."

"I...I wanted some extra playtime with the car because last time in daycare, Freddy took the one I was playing with from me. And that was unfair but nobody saided anything. I am always the looser who gets left out. So, daddy taking away my car reminded me of it.", her son explained, inhaling heavily as he was trying to catch his breath.

"First of all, you're not a looser, Leo Hunt!", the neurosurgeon reassured the sad kid. "And you are very right. Stealing toys from other children, who are playing with those, is not okay. But see, you guys are so many kids in daycare. And sometimes, the adults simply don't see everything that's happening because they aren't that many. I don't think they didn't say anything on purpose. I also understand why daddy taking away your toy car reminded you of that incident, but you know your father. He would never wanna hurt you and he sure as hedgehog isn't going to play with it. He just wanted you to accept bedtime." This made her husband smile, especially her replacement for "hell".

"Did he hurt you, mommy?", Leo wondered innocently. "You never kiss him anymore.", he shared what he had noticed, breaking Owen's heart in the process. He hadn't expected the toddler to realize something was up.

"No.", Amelia chose to lie. "I just don't do it in front of you guys for some reason, but that isn't intentional.", she added. "But it's nice of you to ask. I am glad you are trying to look out for others, my kind silly little goose."

"I am not a silly goose!", the mini blonde reminded his mama and started laughing, letting her kiss the tears off his cheeks. "Can you carry me?", he begged, raising his arms to be lifted up.

"If you promise not to push me off my whole pillow again.", the brunette joked, picking up her son in the process. Owen had quietly fled into the bedroom, so she wouldn't notice he had been eavesdropping.

"Well, that is a lot to ask.", the toddler said dead seriously as he nuzzled into his mother's neck and cuddled with her. "I'm sorry I was a bad boy, daddy.", he apologized to his father, who was petting the husky on top of the huge bed.

"It's alright. I think your mom has had a long conversation about it with you.", the trauma surgeon acted as if he didn't know. "Now good night, cutie pie.", he smiled at his kid and gave him a kiss. "Sleep well."
