"Hey everyone!", Teddy greeted Logan and his friends Atlas, Francis, Delilah, Carlos, and Julie, who got to have a sleepover for his birthday today. "Here you go, don't tell your dad or he will scold me.", she joked, handing them two bowls with new chips she had bought on her way home from work after having gotten a text from the eleven-year-old. "I'll be back once your movie is over in thirty minutes.", she said.

"You're, the best, Teddy!", the boy beamed at her and received a kiss to his head before he focused back on the film they were allowed to watch in the living room, where they would also sleep since the space in his room wasn't big enough.

"Hi!", Owen smiled at the blonde when she came looking for him in the bedroom. "Did you spoil our kid again, huh?", he asked and chuckled at her guilty face. "Well, come here and watch the news with me.", he casually requested, opening his arms for her.

"How was it with the kids?", the cardio surgeon wondered, looking at the redhead, who was stroking her arm. They both stared at the TV in shock upon hearing the first news, which had been unexpected.

"Burned female body parts have been found today in the park near the spot where Doctor Amelia Shepherd went missing in summer last year. The police, that have been considering the woman dead for a while now, assume it's the deceased neurosurgeon and have decided to put the case at rest. DNA cannot be detected anymore since the body parts are too destroyed to do so.", the reporter shared.

"I'm gonna go to bed.", the trauma surgeon mumbled after turning off the TV. "Please make sure they get ready for bed after their movie.", he said and turned away from Teddy, still on Amelia's side of the bed.

"The children are in bed. I mean, they are definitely still talking to each other but at least it's a Saturday tomorrow and if they fall asleep in the middle of their conversation, it's fine because they have brushed their teeth.", Teddy told her best friend after getting ready for bed herself. Since he was facing the door, it hadn't been hard to find out if he was already sleeping or not. "Owen, what can I do?"

"Shut up!", the redhead begged. "Just please...shut up!", he repeated, causing his best friend to quietly lay down and turn away from him too, tearing up at the tone he had used on her. "I'm sorry, Teddy!", he quickly apologized. "You didn't deserve this. Come here, come cuddle, please!"

"Okay.", the blonde mumbled and turned back around to snuggle into him. "I'm sorry that this is how they found her.", she whispered, sad as well. She hadn't expected such an outcome of this story and kind of wanted to get her mind off the fact that her colleague hadn't just died but ended up in burned pieces.

Tuesday, 18th August:

"I cannot wait for our vacation next week!", Logan beamed, already dreaming of the huge cities in Germany. They wouldn't only fly to another country but also be on a whole different continent. "Do they have bratwurst?" (a/n: Me, a German, using stereotypes and laughing my ass off.)

"Oh, they definitely do, buddy.", Teddy replied. "But you totally have to try dark bread. I know it sounds crazy but fresh dark bread is heaven on earth, I swear.", she shared excitedly. "And I love the weather. It's warm there in August but not as hot as here."

"Well, ever since climate change is happening, I wouldn't be too sure about that.", Layla informed everyone before she took another big bite of her bagel. "What?", she questioned once she noticed all pairs of eyes on her, even Leo's.

"You are four years old. Would you please stop to outsmart every single person in this family?", her father begged, making his daughter giggle at that. "I mean, you are right...but like...even though I support my little smarty, I also appreciate it whenever you behave like any other toddler."

"Alrighty.", the young brunette sang, took the top of her bagel off and smashed the bottom into her face, ending up with a chocolate snoot. "Better?", she challenged, making everyone laugh. "Leo, can you say Layla?", she then addressed her little brother who could already name his parents but only them.

"Mama!", he grinned at Teddy. "Dada!", he giggled cutely, now looking at Owen. "Wo!", he beamed at Logan. "Bay!", he answered his sister's question and clapped his hands sweetly.

"Good enough, I guess.", the eleven-year-old judged and chuckled. "And then, school starts again in September, right? And isn't Uncle Richard's wedding in the middle of September, too? Can we attend it?"

"Exactly, baby.", Owen confirmed. "And of course, we are going to attend it. We've been invited as a family, so we'll go as one.", he smiled, taking his best friend's hand as he said it, causing her face to light up.
