"Good morning, my sweet little Lucas! Happy birthday!", Amelia beamed at her son, who was standing in his crib, ready to be lifted out. "Let's see what the birthday boy gets to wear today.", she said as she glanced into the closet.

"Mama.", the one-year-old mumbled, causing the brunette to turn around to him and stare at him for a second but he looked just like always, so she figured she had heard something that hadn't been there. "Mama."

"Did...did you just?", the neurosurgeon questioned in disbelief, putting his little outfit on top of the changing table as she walked over to her son, who reached up his arms for her to pick him up. Lucas had never spoken with anyone before, he hadn't even made many noises.

"Mama.", the baby quietly repeated. It wasn't loud but he was obviously intending to speak to his mother and nuzzled into her neck, not noticing the tears that were filling her eyes. Alex had said that once he started talking to somebody, that was the person he trusted the most and felt safest with.

"I love you, Lucas!", Amelia told him before she started to change the boy and then took him with her into his same-aged sister's room to get her ready for the day, too. "Happy birthday, Miss Luna!", she grinned at the excited girl, that was mimicking her brother and also standing in her crib.

"Mama!", the one-year-old giggled. She had started talking a little more than a month ago, but hearing her baby call her mama always caused the brunette to smile. Today was Saturday and great weather, meaning the day was perfect to throw a little grill and pool party with friends and family over.

Of course, the twins wouldn't remember any of it and if adults were honest, first birthday parties were never really about the kids but rather a celebration of having survived a whole year as parents of babies, but they were still going to have a wonderful time and that was what counted.

"Anton, hey!", Amelia smiled at the blonde, who had knocked on her office door and was holding two coffees. "Come in. What brings you here? Everything fine with Jess?", she curiously wondered. They were texting sometimes but that was all that was going on between them.

"Hi!", the kindergarten teacher's face lit up upon seeing her as he walked into the room and set the drinks onto her desk before he took a seat on her couch. "Comfy.", he judged with a wink. "You bring me here, funny question by the way.", he chuckled. "Jess is just fine."

"Okay, yeah. But why did you decide to visit me?", the neurosurgeon wanted to know, smirking at him. He was very charming, that much was clear. "Is that mine?", she nonchalantly questioned, pointing to one of the coffees he had brought and watching the man nod. "Thanks."

"I wanted to check out your office.", Anton answered, not totally lying. "And the person who works in here.", he flirted, biting his lower lip and watching his counterpart put the cup back down, so he held out his hand for her to take.

"Is that so?", the brunette chose to play along. She couldn't help it but find him just as attractive as he found her and let him pull her towards him, so she would straddle him on the couch.

"Uh huh.", the blonde smiled softly, gently placing his hands against the small of her back while he had his arms wrapped around her. He slowly let them travel to her ass, staring deeply into her eyes as he did.

"You're costing me every last bit of self-control I have left in me.", his crush shyly informed him, concentrating on not falling for him. She was married, she couldn't do that. Neither to her children nor to Owen.

"Then maybe you should let go.", the kindergarten teacher suggested, not making any further move. If she didn't want this, he wasn't going to force her to. "Just say yes and I will continue or say no, and I will leave you alone."

"I don't know.", Amelia pointed out, somewhat helpless and desperate. Suddenly, her arms found their way around his neck, and she started hugging him, her lips against his ear, softly breathing into it. "I wanna say yes.", she realized, moving her head back to touch his nose with hers.

"But?", Anton challenged. He wanted her to be sure before she did agree to something she would definitely regret later. At the same time, it was hard for him to stop himself from kissing her.

The sexual tension between them increased during every passing minute. With their noses still nuzzling each other, their lips almost connected, his hands on her ass and her arms around his neck, they had closed their eyes to enjoy this moment, both badly wanting to make the next move.

"I...", the neurosurgeon began to try to form a coherent sentence but started to lean in, feeling his hot breath against her lips since they were almost touching his with just the tiniest gap in between them. "I can't do this to my husband, and I cannot hurt my children, I'm sorry.", she decided, leaving this rather dangerous and tempting situation by climbing off him.

"Don't be.", the blonde shrugged. "I shouldn't have seduced you like that.", he realized. "And I am sorry. I just...you're on my mind 24/7 and I find myself wondering if you're still with your husband out of love or because you feel obligated to because of your family. But it's not my place to make assumptions. Do you still want to drink that coffee with me and talk?"

"I'd love to. Thank you, Anton.", the brunette nodded, intentionally ignoring what had seemed to be a question about her marriage. She couldn't answer this right now, not even for herself. She also did not want to.
