a/n: I'm sorry, I had to do another time jump because I was losing inspiration and had to jump right to the drama. I mean, eventually, this story will have to end because otherwise I might never finish "Mistakes" but for now my motivation could be saved by jumping to the drama. Hope you guys aren't too mad at me. :)

Sunday, 20th March:

"Kids are in bed. I have to talk to you about something.", Owen said as he joined his wife in their bedroom. She had been showering and was now reading a book while she caressed Ellie's head as she waited for her husband.

"What is it?", Amelia wondered, closing the book to put it on her nightstand and to grant him her full attention since it seemed like he wanted to speak to her about something important. "Are you alright?"

"I want to go back to Iraq to serve.", the redhead informed her as he sat down next to the husky on his side of the bed and looked at her. For a moment, his wife just stared at him, not sure if he was joking or not. "I have been invited to a tour and I really want to go."

"And leave me here with five children and a dog as well as a full-time job and a house to keep clean?", the neurosurgeon questioned, kind of shocked by his request. "For how long would you even be gone?"

"That is why I want to talk to you about it. Your opinion matters to me, a lot.", her husband clarified calmly. "For about six months. I have to make the decision by tomorrow and I would leave on the 25th.", he shared.

"And you asked me tonight?", the brunette realized, not just irritated but quite a bit disappointed by how he had manipulated this for his own benefits. "How long have you known about it? And don't you dare lie to me, Owen!"

"Three days.", her counterpart answered honestly. "So, what do you think? Should I go or not?", he wanted to know again, feeling a little bit bad about overwhelming her like this. He heard her sigh.

"No. I don't want you to go.", his wife replied. "If my opinion actually matters to you, which I don't think it does because otherwise you would have told me about the tour earlier, then you will not go. I don't know how to take care of five kids, a dog and a house while being a surgeon."

"Don't do that...don't blame me. I did ask you.", the trauma surgeon reminded her, starting to stroke the husky's back as she was still getting a head massage from her other owner, too.

"Just now!", Amelia raised her voice a little. "So, that's it? You will just not go because I am telling you to?", she wondered, well aware of how stubborn and ambitious her husband was.

"I will take your opinion into account and make my decision overnight. You'll be the first one to know in the morning.", Owen promised, leaning over to her to give her a kiss. "Good night, babe. Chances are that the twins won't sleep through the night."

"They might though.", the neurosurgeon sighed upon hearing him end the topic so quickly. "Hopefully they will.", she mumbled. "Night.", she said, happy about Ella being in the middle of them because she was pretty pissed at him right now.

Monday, 21st March:

Logan: 12; Layla: 6; Leo: 3; Twins: 7 months old; Eleanor: 1,5

---

"So?", the brunette woke up to the alarm clock and asked her husband without saying good morning. She had slept like crap because of her nervousness. He opened his eyes and looked at her, not giving away anything.

"I'll go. I have to do this for myself, babe.", the redhead let her know and for a second, he could see actual surprise in her face and eyes. "What?", he questioned and watched his wife get up without saying anything to him. "Amelia!", he tried to keep her here.

"Can you leave earlier?", was the neurosurgeon's only response, which was enough to shock him completely. Did she want him gone now? He frowned at her question and got up too.

"What do you mean? Why would I do that?", her husband wondered. "I mean, I can tell you aren't happy with my decision but...I told you, I have to do it to stay sane. It is what I need.", he explained himself once more, hoping for her to understand.

"Good, I'm happy for you.", Amelia lied, the irony obvious in her voice. "Pack your bags and leave this evening. I don't care if you take the first flight you can get or if you stay in a hotel until the 25th, I just want you out of my sight.", she clarified.

"Honey, don't be like this please.", the trauma surgeon begged and tried to take her hand but she pulled it away and left the bedroom to wake up the children. "Why can't she ever be happy for me, El?", he asked the dog.

"Lucas, stop being mean to me!", the baby's mother complained as she tried to change his diaper. Luna was in the playpen and the other kids were either playing or getting ready for school after breakfast. "I know you want daddy but seems like you have to get used to me doing this.", she mumbled under her breath.

"Let me take over.", Owen requested softly. His wife hadn't talked to him at all ever since he had told her about the fact that he was actually leaving. "You take the kids to school and Leo to daycare, and I will take the twins to daycare.", he made a plan.

"Fine.", the brunette barked, not even glancing at him as she did. "Bye, baby. See you at work.", she told her son and kissed his cheek before she left the room with no further words, leaving her husband wondering if he had made the right decision or not.
