"Mom, Atlas is a little early, I hope that's fine.", Logan told his mother, who was preparing his birthday party. He had had his actual birthday last Sunday but wanted to have a sleepover with his friends, so they were celebrating today.

"Hello, I brought you something.", the blonde boy smiled at his boyfriend's mother and handed her a basket filled with some goodies. "It's not much but I wanted to be of some help since I figured it must be hard to take care of five kids by yourself.", he said and shrugged. "It's homemade strawberry jam, some juice I prepared by myself, and I made cupcakes for today. And now I am here, so I can help get the party ready, too."

"Oh Atlas, thank you so much!", Amelia beamed at the sweet kid. "This means a lot, but you didn't have to do that.", she smiled at him, touched by the gesture. The four younger kids were still napping, and the guests would arrive for snack time in an hour. Teddy, who was going to help today, was on her way, too.

"I know but you are always so nice to me, so I wanted to do something kind in return.", the thirteen-year-old sweetly replied. "What can we do?", he asked, ready to be of as much help as he could be.

"Well, maybe you guys can set the table outside? You get to eat on the deck, and we will stay inside to not disturb you.", the brunette decided, watching the couple grin at each other before they got to work.

"Mommyyyyy!", Leo called her as he ran towards his mother, causing her to turn around to him and kneel down, so he could run into her arms and get a big hug. "Me awake.", he told her happily.

"I can see that, munchkin.", the neurosurgeon chuckled and kissed his head. "Did you have a good nap?", she wondered softly, snuggling with him for three minutes before she had to finish up the preparations.

"Was pwetty good, yeah.", the three-year-old answered. "Me pway (play)?", he wanted to know and waited for her to nod before he walked over to the toys and started busying himself with them.

"Hello, party people!", Teddy finally joined the still rather little group and hugged her friend tightly. "I have heard you are officially a teenager's mom now. Heartfelt condolences.", she joked. Logan was definitely one of the most chill teens she had ever met.

"Well, thank you.", Amelia laughed. "Can you watch everything and especially Leo for a moment? I'm gonna wake up Layla. I will probably let the twins sleep until they wake up by themselves. Lucas will need some time to adjust to all the people being here."

"Of course, go get your little magnet.", the blonde winked at her counterpart and watched her walk upstairs. "Boys, do you need help?", she questioned, meanwhile having an eye on the toddler, who was cuddling with Eleanor.

"Nah, thanks though, Auntie Teddy.", the thirteen-year-old responded as they finished up the last bits of setting the table before they came back inside. "How's Fiona doing?"

"Great. She's excited about spending the afternoon and night with her dad.", the cardio surgeon shared and smiled. A minute later, Amelia walked into the room with a very tired and clingy six-year-old resting on her shoulder.

"This angel is sad that I already woke her up.", the brunette explained and pouted, kissing her daughter's head. "But if I hadn't done that, she would not go to bed tonight.", she added, indirectly talking to Layla by speaking to the others about her.

"Oh no.", Logan played along. "But if she kept napping, she would miss all the tasty snacks we are going to have in just a while once everybody arrived.", he teased, causing his sister to raise her head.

"What snacks?", the six-year-old mumbled. "Are there mini donuts and cupcakes?", she wanted to know, looking at everyone with her tired eyes. "Because I really like those.", she informed them.

"Yep.", Atlas confirmed, winking at his boyfriend's favorite person. He liked his siblings very much; they were all so cute. Layla was fun most of the time, but she was also such a sweet little girl.

"Okay, then I'm in.", she chose and finally wanted to be let down to go play with Leo and El. Soon after, her big brother's friends arrived, and the party could begin. They would have snacks, play some games, have homemade pizza for dinner and get to watch a movie.

It was a Saturday, meaning Leo got to sleep in his parents' bedroom and since Teddy was sleeping over as well, she would share the bed with the boy and his mother, which left Layla to be allowed to join the group too since she would feel left out otherwise.

Owen was going to call them tomorrow because they were too busy today. It had been about two months and he noticed how his wife wasn't letting go of being mad at him, making him realize how much he had actually screwed up.
