"Are you happy with your new toys?", Amelia asked her toddler, who was sitting on the bathroom floor on a pillow, playing with his new Doodle Board, on which he could draw with a special pen and then simply erase the drawing if he wanted to. At the same time, he was watching his mother get ready for the day.

"Yeah.", Leo sweetly smiled and nodded. "But Mommy?", he added, causing the brunette to turn around to him. She had watched him through the mirror above the sink. "How come when you have hair in your face, you get it off with a hair clipper. But I have hair in my face too and sometimes it annoys me, but I do not use hair clippers."

"Does your hair annoy you right now?", the neurosurgeon wondered and the four-year-old nodded. "Well, let's get it off your face. You can pick out one of my hair clippers, Sweetie.", she said and knelt next to him with the box.

"I want this big one! Makes me look like a princess.", the tiny blonde beamed, holding the hair clipper up for his mama to put it in his hair. "Can I look like a princess, Mommy?", he wanted to know, not sure if he was even allowed.

"Of course, Honey!", Amelia told him. "Here you go! Look what a pretty princess you are!", she smiled after she had lifted the child into her arms to make him look at himself through the mirror. "Wanna go downstairs and show Daddy?"

"I do!", the toddler grinned and clapped his hands. "Can you bring me my Doodle Board when you come downstairs, Mama?", he wanted to know. "Please.", he added after not receiving an answer but a patient glance of his mother.

"Sure thing, Angel.", the brunette winked at her son and kissed his head before she let him leave the bathroom and continued getting ready for the day. Leo excitedly walked into the living area to find his father.

"Daddy, Daddy, I'm a princess!", he happily exclaimed as he ran towards his dad, who was playing something with Layla, Bailey, and Zola, holding Lucas in the process, who had decided that he would be a fan of his father again after he hadn't been yesterday.

"Wow, you're the prettiest princess ever!", his older sister replied first and offered the boy a huge smile, which caused his face to light up even more. "Isn't he, Grandma?", she asked Evelyn, who was busying Daniel.

"Well, right now he is but why are you playing dress-up on Christmas, Leo-bear?", the grey-haired-woman questioned confused. "Boys cannot be princesses.", she pouted at him, just stating the facts.

"I think you are the most beautiful princess, Love!", Owen meddled. He knew that his mother wasn't trying to hurt his son but by being so narrow-minded she was. "Did mama help you be a princess?", he tried to distract the toddler.

"She did. And I know that boys can't be princesses. But sometimes I would rather be a girl.", the four-year-old explained, accidentally grabbing everyone's attention with that. The adults started to eavesdrop without directly staring at the child, as to not confuse Leo. "And other times, I like being a boy."

"And what would you like to be right this moment?", Amelia joined the conversation from the doorway. She hadn't expected this topic to get so deep when she had helped her kid with its hair earlier.

"A princess.", the innocent tiny blonde child answered. "A Togepi-princess.", Leo corrected. Evelyn seemed confused. Never before had she been confronted with such a situation, but her son and daughter-in-law handled it like badasses.

"Okay, you can be that. You can be a Togepi-princess right now.", the trauma surgeon confirmed. "But it's important for the people that surround you to know what pronouns they are supposed to use when talking to you. For example, we call Logan by his name or he, him, his. And to Layla we say Layla, her nicknames or she, her, hers. To you, we used to say Leo, he, him, his, as well. But we don't have to if you don't want that anymore. The third option would be to call you Leo and your pronouns can be they, them, their. Actually, there are so many more options. But I think it is a little easier to stick to one of those three for now and then we can go from there after our Christmas vacation. Would that be alright with you, Baby?", he asked the toddler.

"Yeah.", the four-year-old agreed. "I want to still be Leo, he, him, his. But I also wanna be a princess today anyway.", he shyly informed his parents. "Even if I am a boy.", he added.

"You can always be whatever you want to be and whoever you want to be.", Logan told his brother. "We have to educate grandma a little because boys sure can be princesses. There's no law that says otherwise.", he informed his little brother. "And Togepi-princesses are the best ones anyway because they are so rare and amazing."

"And Togepi-princesses with pretty hair clippers are even rarer and extra cool.", Zola shared her opinion. By now, the toddler was so happy, he was blushing from all the compliments given to him.

"When does my education program start?", Evelyn jokingly wanted to know from her oldest grandchild. She realized she had acted wrong and diminished Leo in his identity. "I'm sorry Leo-bear, Grandma has a lot to learn...including the fact that boys can be princesses, too. I didn't mean to make you sad or unsure.", she apologized to the mini blonde. "You are a wonderful and super pretty little princess!"

"Agreed!", her daughter-in-law said as she sat down next to her husband to give him a kiss. "Thank you!", she whispered in his ear. She hadn't known how he would react to Leo wanting to be a princess, but he had been great with their child.
