"I have to do this to make sure you're protected, babe.", the trauma surgeon informed his girlfriend as he wrapped a scarf around her mouth and head to make sure she wasn't able to speak once his friend arrived. "As soon as he's gone, I'll take it off you again. Promise!", he said when someone knocked at the main door. "Hey!"
"Hi, man!", the blonde guy greeted his buddy as they started carrying the groceries he had brought into the living room. To be able to make the best food for his girl, the brunette had to have enough ingredients for great dishes.
"Thank you so much, Billy! See you around!", James told his friend as he tried to close the door, which was pushed back open by the blonde, costing the trauma surgeon a lot of patience.
"James, I just brought you groceries for a whole month. The least you can do is invite me in for a beer, don't you think? Plus, you said they're for you and your girlfriend. Where is she?", Billy asked curiously.
"You are right, where are my manners? Sit down, I'll get you your beer.", the brunette agreed, not happy about it at all. "Amy's not here yet. She will be soon though.", he lied as he walked into the kitchen.
"Great living room.", his buddy complimented before he started walking around and randomly opened a door, not quite able to believe his eyes as he found Amelia chained to the wall on top of the bed. "Dude...", he began when something hard hit the back of his head.
Amelia screamed into the scarf, watching the man unconsciously fall to the floor as he bled all over it, which caused her boyfriend to appear behind him. James was holding a bloody hammer and stared down at the now lifeless body.
"Whoops!", he said, noticing the fear in his girlfriend's eyes. "Honey, don't be scared! He was bad news and I really had to do something about it. He would have told the police. I wanted him to leave but he insisted on staying and sneaking around, so what was I supposed to do?", he wondered, feeling more innocent than he was. "Here, let me get this off you.", he said.
"You...you killed him!", the neurosurgeon mumbled, her voice shaking. "And you'll never let me out of here...you are going to kill me too.", she realized. Until now she hadn't even considered the possibility of not making it out of the house alive but that was because she didn't think her boyfriend was capable of murder.
"That is not true. The only reason you'll die here is because we are going to grow old together and die of old age. I would never hurt you; you know that. Don't you?", James wanted to know, gently stroking her cheek with his thumb before he kissed her lips.
"I want to go home, babe. Please let me go home!", the brunette begged and started to cry. "I miss my family.", she told her boyfriend, who wasn't amused by her choice of words. "The other part of the family.", she corrected herself.
"But you are home, Amy!", the trauma surgeon argued, staring into her eyes. "This is our home, and I am your family. I wish Logan was here too but he's not. So, it's you and me...our family consists of you and me only. Now let me get this mess cleaned up."

"Hi, Cristina!", Logan greeted the brunette when she joined him and the redhead for breakfast in the trailer. "Owen's still showering but then he'll make us pancakes.", he shared the plan. "Wanna watch my cartoon with me?"
"Yeah sure.", the cardio surgeon smiled at him and closed the door behind herself before she sat down next to him. "Did you ask for pancakes? I am glad your appetite is still there after all.", she started some Smalltalk.
"I did. Owen's great! He always makes me whatever I want to eat.", the ten-year-old replied softly. "Did you not want kids with him or aren't you a child person in general? Not judging but I was just wondering since he would have been a good dad."
"Hey! I am good with you and your cousins!", Cristina joked, nudging the boy, and making him giggle. "No, it wasn't because of Owen. I just...I never wanted to be a mother; you know? Doesn't really fit my lifestyle."
"If my mom's dead, which by now I am pretty sure of, I'll name my daughter Amelia if I ever have one. I really hope I can stay with Owen.", Logan sadly shrugged. He had cried so much the past days, there were no tears left to cry. "Have you ever met my mom?"
The trauma surgeon was putting on his clothes as he listened to their conversation. It broke his heart to know that the child had lost his hope about his mother's return. But no matter what was to come, he would of course be there for the boy.
"I might not be married to him anymore Logan, but I still know him. And I can read him like a book. There's no way he won't take you in, sweetheart.", the brunette tried to reassure the kid. "And yeah, I met your mom. A few times actually. I knew she was Derek's sister, and that ambition runs in the family but whenever I saw her, I was so surprised by how bubbly she could be. At the same time, she was this hot and funny woman, a little too chatty sometimes, but generally amazing."
"Sounds like my mom.", the ten-year-old chuckled cutely. "Owen! Cristina's here.", he told the redhead who was finally coming out of the bathroom. "And I am hungry, hint hint.", he winked at the man, who shook his head as he scoffed in amusement.
"I see humor runs in the family as well.", his ex-wife laughed at the sweet boy. "I heard we're having pancakes. Always liked yours the most.", she let the trauma surgeon know, who softly thanked her.
