"Okay, we're gonna visit you in two weeks and bring you your other car.", Derek told his sister and her husband. "Drive safe and text me when you arrived at the hotel and in L.A. tomorrow.", he added, hugging both of them. "Bye Kiddos, see you soon!", he told his nieces and nephews and embraced them.

"Bye, Derek.", Amelia smiled at him before she started buckling the three younger children into the van. They had had everyone over one last time last week to say their goodbyes. "Wave at Uncle Derek, Babies.", she told them.

"Bye.", Owen said to his brother-in-law. He guided Eleanor into the van, buckling her into the backseat, so she would be protected as much as everyone else. Logan got in as the last person, took his seat and plugged in his earphones, staring out the window at Atlas, who had come over to say goodbye to his boyfriend. Tears streamed down both their faces.

The redhead said bye to the boy too before he got into the driver's seat. He shut his door and started the engine, noticing how his wife was looking at what used to be their house one last time. Then, he drove away, gently taking Amelia's hand in his.

The neurosurgeon turned around to face her husband, who was offering her a quick smile before he focused back on the road. He was still holding her hand, and, in this moment, Amelia knew that everything would be okay eventually. That her son would forgive her.

"Daddy, can we listen to a radio play, please?", Leo asked sweetly. "Maybe to Encanto?", he picked something, very excited because he was pretty sure that his parents would say yes.

"Yeah, let's do it.", his father agreed, watching Layla excitedly clap her hands. She was sitting in the back with Logan and Ellie, gently stroking the husky's head in her lap. The twins and the toddler were in the second row, so their parents were able to monitor them.

"Can we have McDonald's for lunch?", Logan wanted to know, taking out one of his earphones for a second. They rarely went to McDonald's because his parents always said the food was really unhealthy, but maybe they would be okay with it today.

"Yes, we can.", his mother was the one to reply, causing the kids to erupt in cheering, even the babies, who truly did not understand what had been decided. "Let us know once you get hungry.", she demanded. It was only 9am right now.

"Did you bring candy, Mama?", Leo questioned about an hour later, once their radio play was over, but he didn't get an answer, so he stopped drawing on his Doodle Board and looked up at her in confusion. "Mama?", he wondered. His father glanced to his right for a second.

"Mommy is sleeping, Honey.", Owen informed the boy softly. "She did bring some candy, but we'll have to wait until she's awake again, alright?", he asked, locking eyes with his child through the rear-view mirror.

"Okay, Daddy.", the toddler agreed, swinging his tiny legs before he continued doodling. "Oh, thank you!", his face lit up when his big brother handed him a chocolate bar. He was sitting right behind him.

"Do you want one, too?", the thirteen-year-old wanted to know from his little sister, who was sitting almost next to him, but she pouted and shook her head. "Why not? Usually you can't get enough."

"Because you've been mad at me ever since we have decided to move to Los Angeles. I don't want your stupid chocolate bar!", Layla answered and crossed her arms in front of her chest.

"Language!", the trauma surgeon warned from the front. He didn't want to let them know that he was listening to their conversation, but this was a car, and they were smart enough to figure that out themselves.

"I'm not mad at you. I'm mad at the situation.", Logan clarified. "And this might have caused me to snap at you from time to time, but I didn't mean to do that. You must be really hurt though if you don't even take the candy I'm offering you.", he realized and his sister did a classical Layla move by intensively nodding her head to confirm it. "Won't you miss your friends?"

"A little. But I'm cool enough to find new ones.", the young brunette pointed out, causing her father to chuckle. He had never met a more confident person than his daughter. "And Atlas will visit us during Easter break.", she reminded her brother.

"It's over two months until then.", the teenager sighed. "Normally, we see each other at least every other day.", he said and shrugged sadly. "Now take the candy bar.", he ordered, put it into her hand and plugged his earphones back in.

"They always say that we're the divas, but it's actually him.", the seven-year-old started a conversation with her husky, who was still resting her head in her lap. "Drama Queen number one if you ask me."

"Sassy today, aren't we?", Owen questioned. "Cut your brother some slack, please. He gets to miss his boyfriend.", he meddled into his daughter's talk with their dog. "Are you excited to see your Aunt Addie and Uncle Jake?"

"Totally! But when will Aunty Teddy and Megan visit us? Uncle Derek comes over in two weeks with the whole fam. When will the others visit us?", Layla wondered. "And can we go to the beach once we arrive tomorrow?"

"As soon as they can, Sweetie.", the redhead responded softly. "Depends on when we arrive and on several other things. Today we're sleeping in the hotel and tomorrow is a new day.", he explained.
