"Why do they hold these things on the freaking hottest month of the year in pretty much every country on the planet?" Yoongi whined, fanning himself under his baseball cap.
"I hear warmth is good for athletes?" Namjoon answered.
"Well it sucks for people like me." Yoongi pouted.
"Here you go, diaper rash." Jiwoo said from the row infront of them, handing him an ice cold water bottle from her cooler.
"Thank you, Noona."
A sharp whistle cut through the air as Jin stood up and signaled to his brother. Tae waved and made his way up the bleechers, kissing, hugging and greeting his way through Hobi's and Jungkook's entourages.
"How are they holding up?" Jimin wanted to know.
"There's so much testosterone, you wouldn't believe!" Tae moaned, "But they're fine. Tense, tagged and testy, ready to take on the world." he shadowboxed to make his point.
Jimin was feeling a little bit jealous of Taehyung, he at least had access to both of them. Jimin didn't.
Hobi had, very graciously, asked Jimin to support him from the audience, because of some idea that no new features or aspects should be introduced at this time. Apparently it was a thing. Some sort of cross between superstition and the need for the routine to be the same as always.
Taehyung had been Jungkook's blankie for years and new exactly what to say and do, and when to do it. Or not.
And if his word was anything to go by, it could also be mindnumbingly boring, being there for them.
"So, where's Jungkook?" Mrs Jung asked.
"Oh, Coach is not letting him out of his sight," Tae explained, and pointed over to the active's section, "I'll go join him in a sec, took me freaking two hours to get from there to here." he shivered, "But I wanted to come say hi."

"Give him my love, will you?" Mrs Jeon said as Tae was heading back to the guys.
"Always." Tae smiled and hugged her.
"You'll see Hobi tomorrow." Tae whispered to Jimin, "Just hold him, or let him hold you." he adviced, knowing it could take a while for them to get down from their high. "I mean, just, follow his lead? Yeah?" Tae hugged Jimin as well.
"Will we see you tomorrow?" Jin asked.
"Doubt it." Tae said, "Jungkook won't be talking and Hobi will be recuperating and, obviously," he crossed his fingers, "keeping on celebrating with five hundred and eleven more interviews!" Tae smiled his sunniest smile, "So you'll se him at the victory party tomorrow night! I've made sure you're all on the list!"
"And if he doesn't place?" Jimin whispered.
"You'll take him out for dinner." Tae shrugged, "Got to go. By everyone! Fighting!" he raised his fist.
"Fighting!" Everyone answered raising their fists.

Tae put an arm round Jungkook and squeezed him lightly, "From mumsy." he said and sat down beside him.
Jungkook grunted.
He'd just done some light warm up today, and were conserving his energy for the day after tomorrow, when his event would start. He needed to be here for Hobi, today. He would go out of his mind if he didn't know how his friend and mentor was faring. He knew that. So, being here was he best preparation for him right now.
Tomorrow, he would do all the things he usually did the day before show down, but now his entire focus was on Hobi.
Mr Kim came and sat down beside Taehyung, "Is he communicating?" he nodded to Jungkook.
"Not really," Tae answered, "what's up?"
"We've got a couple of sponsor deals being proposed and, yeah, you know." Mr Kim shrugged.
"They want an answer yesterday?"
"Mm."
"Bothersome?"
"Could be, but lucrative."
"Could you walk me through them? I mean I could at least give you a hint as to how attractive they'll be to him? Or are they super secret?"
"Super secret, but let's do that anyway." Mr Kim said and stood up.
"Ok." Tae leaned over to Kook and said in a low voice, "I'll be right back, baby."
He knew Jungkook had heard him because he pressed his leg against Tae's so he got up and followed Mr Kim.

Jungkook didn't have a manager. He had an agent, but no manager. He couldn't afford it, so Taehyung tended to take on that role for him, to shield him from unnecessary interactions and distractions during his events. He was the one that made sure they were in the right place on the right time and catered to their friend's and family's needs as well.
Leaving both Jungkook and Hobi to focus on their craft when they needed to the most.

One of the offers were from a clothing line, that one Taehyung discarded right away. Jungkook was very pleased with his current sponsor in that department, seeing as it was his personal favourite and he would wear their clothes anyway. The other two were from a huge Technology company and a car manufacturer, "Here's a thought," Tae said, "Go back to the tech company and tout them with getting a car offer, see if they want to go exclusive, they make cars too, no?"
"You should come work for me, Taehyung." Mr Kim said.
"As what?" Tae laughed, "Ornamentation?"
"You sell yourself too short, Tae." Mr Kim cackled.
"Thank you." Tae smiled, "But I like being an art curator."
"I'll get back to you." Mr Kim said and got up.
"Thank you for doing this for us." Tae said.
"Anytime, Taehyung." Mr Kim smiled, "It's not like you pay me and I get to go to the olympics or anything..." he joked.
"Yeah, but still..."
"Don't mention it!" Mr Kim left.

"How's he doing?" Tae asked Jungkook as he sat down.
"Good." Jungkook mumbled and laced his fingers with Tae's, hiding their hands between the chairs.
Hobi had chosen to get in the game at the second height, passing on the first, he was too jittery, but standing around, waiting, streching, doing the things he did pretty much every day had calmed his nerves, and now it was kind of any other day.
He intended to keep it that way.
He was good at this.
Really good.
And he loved it.
He just had to remember that.

Soon there was just him and the frenchman left fighting for the gold.
The french had missed his first jump on this height so Hobi had an opening.
"School me!" he suddenly heard Jungkook's voice, and Hobi smiled.
Yeah, he would school his mentee, like he usually did. Sometimes he liked whooping the kid's butt and out do him by half a meter or more, just to show off.
He always jumped his best jumps then.
'Cause he knew he was so much better than him.
And off he went.
And sailed over.
But so did the french.
Alright, time to really show off.
Swoosh, he was over!
The french passed on the height, opting for the next.
'Yeah, yeah,' Hobi thought, 'give it a try, loser!'
"I'll show you how it's done, kid." Hobi muttered and flew over the bar.
The french tried to pump himself up, get in the mood, find some hidden umph somewhere, but ran out of time and had to get to it, or he'd be out on a technicality.
Hobi could tell he was unbalanced and unfocused as soon as he set off.
And, he missed! He was out. The french was out!

He won!
"I won."  he said to himself, almost surprised, "YEEEAAAAH!"
Tae and Kook were jumping up and down hugging eachother, Coach was crying, his parents had lost their voices from screaming so much, and Hobi was just, high on life!
He did it!
He DID it!
He freaking. Did. It.
