"Aaah-haah" I yawn stretching my muscles and sigh in satisfaction as I hear my joints pop. Just as I pull the cover up to shield myself from the morning breeze,Nqobi walks in with a wooden tray in hand and a single red rose in his mouth. My mouth instantly waters when I see what's for breakfast and the smell of it that lingers in the air makes my stomach grumble. "Morning sleeping beauty" he sings it out and I just pout. "Hau yini manje?" He asks seeing the frown I have pasted on my face.

He sets the tray on the nightstand and gives me the rose before kissing me good morning. "You refuse to sing for me" I whine. "What was I doing now?" He asks with an eyebrow shot up,he's suppressing a laugh. "Nqobi you always tease me,you only sing out a few words. But for uNonjabulo you can sing 5 nursery rhymes and manje ngathi uvule nama singing lessons" this is not fair,he has never sang one song for me. "And its so kind of you to stand outside the door and listen in on our private sessions" mxm im getting tired of doing that, next time I will barge in on them and sit.

"Okay, tell you what bestie since today is our anniversary..." I don't let him finish as I get up,ran across the bed and jump into his arms. "How childish" he says into my ear chuckling. "Happy First Year Anniversary baby to us!!" I squeal with my hands raised to the ceiling in joy as he spins us around. Look who's childish now. We seal it off with a kiss after he's done taking us on a merry go round ride. "As I was saying,I can sing for you but only this once" he says when we pull away and rests his forehead on mine.

I don't know why he doesn't like to sing when he has a beautiful voice. Its not that he's shy...he's the most arrogant person I know. Thina laba abangakwazi sicula size siphule nama glass. "Okay bestie we have got a deal but can I please record this, you said you won't sing for me again so" I plead shrugging. He smiles then pulls me to his lap. He clears his throat before I hear "When your legs don't work like they used to before..." And I lose it...bafethu I screamed at the top of my lungs. My man has a VOICE.

"Ithi ngithule keh ngoba uyaphapha" he says "hai Nqobi I'm just hyping you up please don't stop" I say refusing to get off his lap. "I don't need to be hyped mylove,I know I can SING" he literally sings the word see I did say he's arrogant.

When your legs don't work like they used to before
And I can't sweep you off of your feet
Will your mouth still remember the taste of my love
Will your eyes still smile from your cheeks

And darling I will be loving you til we are 70
And baby my heart could still fall as hard at 23
And I'm thinking about how people fall in love in mysterious ways
Maybe just the touch of a hand
Oh me I fall in love with you every single day
And I just wanna tell you I am

So honey now
Take me into your loving arms
Kiss me under the light of a thousand stars
Place your head on my beating heart
I'm thinking out loud
Maybe we found love right where we are...

When he's done I clap for him and he does a dramatic bow saying "thank you, thank you. Ohh you too kind" LMAO. I even toss him the rose he gave me. "La colazione è servita mia signora (breakfast is served my lady)" he says timidly reading from the piece of paper he dug out of his pocket seconds ago. "Uthini manje?" I asked trying to figure out what he said. "Breakfast is served my lady" he smirks. Almost forgot about it. "Thank you bbe" I say cheerfully. "è un piacere amore mio(its a pleasure my love)" he translates.

Before dashing into the bathroom to brush my teeth,I say "tell the chef I said thank you as well" I hear him chuckling. Did he really think that I was going to believe that he cooked that. Walking back into the room I find him standing awkwardly in the middle of the room with one hand in his pocket. "And then wena?" I ask and he nervously looks at me without a word. Yhoo okay a whole Nqobimpi Ndlovu is nervous. I sit on the couch and ask him to pass me my breakfast. "Okay, okay let's do this" he says breathing in and out instead of doing what I asked him to. Bathong Wena!

He takes out a royal blue velvet small box, stares at me before handing it to me. I eye the box then him with suspicion okay its not an engagement ring box because he isn't on one knee and he's giving it to me to open for myself. Maybe its earrings. As I open the box,my breathe hitches up in my throat. Starring right back at me is a beautiful gem,I don't even know what colour this is. I look at him when a lone tear escapes my eye. "Do you like it?" He's nervous shame,"I love it" I say putting him out of his misery.

"Igqoke keh" excuse him what? "Uyanya Nqobi, you are supposed to go down on one knee and propose like a gentleman" im trying to not get angry at him,I don't want to ruin things. But what kind of a proposal is this? He puts out his hand for me to place the box on his palm. He then kneels before me "can't believe that I spent the whole night practicing a speech for this moment only to forget every single word"he starts off, I laugh at his annoyed state. Shame. "Well except for these words,I love you Simphiwe,Ngiyak'thanda mama."

"Ntokazi anginawo amaningi amagama, if I had to explain my love for you or my intentions to you. I'm afraid it will take days or maybe weeks. For now hold onto the words I will say." He looks into my eyes, holds my hand and all I can see is LOVE. "If you choose to accept this ring, you are choosing to travel on this bumpy road with me. With this ring you are saying to me that you know it won't always be rosey, filled with smiles and laughter but you have got my back just as I have yours. You are choosing to be the light in my darkest days, because for sure they are coming. You are choosing to trust me to always keep you safe and protected but also your heart as well. With this ring you are simply saying that my love for you is reciprocated. Simphiwe Reamohetswe Dlamini ngicela ungiyenze indoda emadodeni, ngicela ukuthumela omalume kwaDlamini"

He's looking at me expectantly and mina  I'm trying to dry the Nile river that's flowing down my cheeks. Words fail me as my throat gets blocked, all I can do is to vigorously nod my head. In my mind I'm jumping up and down screaming YES! He's smile reaches his ears as he slides the gorgeous Mint Sapphire and diamond ring with a rose gold thin band on my left ring finger. I don't wait for him to be on his feet again before attacking him with a bone crushing hug and kissing the day lights out of him.
