Dear confused,
Well that's not a friend at all if they are saying things like that to other people. Have you confronted this person about it? I would and then I would tell her exactly what was on my mind and then I would ignore anyone who actually believed that person. A real friend wouldn't do that and a real friend would stick up for you or be by your side too. So I would say that you'll find out who those people are soon enough.
