A girl can ask the guy

I'm at a loss of what I should do...again... Boy troubles. So there's this guy that I don't really talk to, but he's like a superstar at football and all the girls want him and he's reallygood looking and I think I like him back. II was in math the other day, and he kept sneaking glances at me, or atleast I think he diid. Anyway then the next day during social studies I caught him blatantly staring at me. Everyone says that I'm mistaken and that he's a total jerk. Then there's this guy in my homeroom who I always have I guess 'jokey' conversations and he makes me laugh and he has an awesome personality and he's just a fantastic guy. Homecoming is really soon and no ones asked me, that's why I'm second guessing whether or not the guy from math and s.s. was staring at me because if he liked me or was interested in me don't you think he would of asked? Maybe he already has a date I mean he could get any girl in the freshman or sophmore class. Which leads me to my next question. I'm debating whether or not to ask the guy in my homeroom. I mean the guy is suppose to ask the girl right? How do I figure out if he would be interested in going with me, without asking or getting shot down? Please I need your amazing advice!

Dear I can't think of a creative name, 

Yeah I do think that he would have asked and yeah the guy is supposed to ask the girl but the girl can ask a guy too if they really wanted to. If he's interested? Well firstly see if he's going with anyone and ask if he has anyone in mind to go with, if he doesn't.. then if he doesn't really have anyone in mind then ask if he would consider going with you? If he looks unsure then add as a friend so then he doesn't shoot you down. If you don't really want to go as friends then don't add on as friends thing. Either way don't get your hopes too high and make sure your ready to go in for the kill.
