The Girl.

The Custodian .

Santiago went to the recruiter's office of San Pedro university to  ask her if there was a vacancy for someone , he claimed to have a friend of his who was looking for a job , the recruiter told him the only vacancy they had was for a janitor , since the other one the university was having did quit due to home problems , she asked him if the person he's bringing was willing to take the job , the job was available , Santiago was certain the person he was talking about was willing to take the job , thanked the recruiter very much and gave her that person's number , pleaded to her to call that person as soon as possible because he wanted that to be surprise to her , and just after he had left her office , she picked the phone and dialed the number given to her .

"Hello ,this is the Bustamante residence , how may I help ?" Ms Meriya answered the call .

"Hello Mum , am calling from San Pedro university , am looking for a Ms Meriya Bustamante , a friend of hers has recommended her for a job here ."

"I am Meriya Bustamante", she seemed a little confused . " Are you serious about the job ?"

"Yes mum ."

"So what am I supposed to do ?"

"All you have to do is to come here at the university tomorrow at exactly 8am and fill in the application form and also to prove to us whether you're fit for the job ."

"I can assure you Ms , tomorrow by 8am I will be there and you will find out that am the only one for that job ."

Hesitantly , without telling anyone about it , the next day Ms Meriya was at the gates of San Pedro university trying her best to avoiding bumping into her daughter , she knew her daughter wouldn't approve her working from where she studies , though she didn't know the place very well , she went asking around for the office of the recruiter , later she managed to get to her office without anyone minding her whether she was snooping around since everyone , the students and the professors were minding their own business .

"Come in ", the recruiter responded to a knock at her door .

"Good morning Miss ."

"How can I help you Miss ?"

"My name is Meriya Bustamante and you called me yesterday afternoon, you asked me to come here that there is a job for me ."

"Oh you're miss Meriya Bustamente", the recruiter didn't expect her to be her . "Sorry I thought Ms Meriya is some young girl according to someone who recommended you , i thought he was doing it for someone around his age , a girlfriend or something , sorry mom."

"Does that mean that I don't have the job ?"

"No miss , I didn't mean that , in fact you're the perfect candidate for this job ,young girls are picky ."

"If I may ask , who recommended me ?"

"It's Santiago , Santiago Diaz. "

"Santiago ?" She remembered the boy who has lately been stopping by at her house . " You know he's dating my daughter , he's a good lad, this has been nice of him . "

"He's dating your daughter ?, now it makes sense Ms Meriya , anyway , let's get to business , you're going to fill in these papers ."

"Sorry miss , am not that literate ,what is this ?"

"That's your insurance form , every worker here is supposed to be insured , it will benefit you ."

"Do I have to pay for it ?"

"A little percentage will be deducted from your salary and goes to insurance and if you happen to get any disability ,an accident or a death , your insurance will cover up for your loses ."
