The Girl.

Ms Meriya gets a washing machine.

Waiting for Fiona to return home , Ms Meriya went back to the dining table to continue the conversation she was having with her other two girls and her husband before Adriana interrupted them.

"I still think buying a washing machine is expensive," she pulled a chair and sat down. " It will take away all our savings , we won't be able to pay for the rest of the necessities inside the house ," continued to disagree with Miguel's idea of buying her a washing machine .

"Don't you worry about your hands mom ? And on top of that you're pregnant ." Monica seemed really concerned though it was the fancy life she was caring about .

"Don't worry about money Meriya , am going to get the money and I will buy you that washing machine , my child has to be born healthy with no complications ."

"You don't even have a job and you're talking about getting the money , guys don't insist on this , I will keeping using my hands to do the laundry and when we get enough money, that's when we will buy a washing machine ."

"Mom, I think I have an idea ." Nina the youngest among the people in the room remembered something .

"Now what's in your little head Nina?" Monica couldn't stand her brilliance, it's pretty ridiculous to her .

"Do you remember Ramon , Monica's boyfriend ?"

"I knew it , now you think Ramon can lend us money and by the way he's not my boyfriend ."

"Let her talk ." Miguel stopped the argument that was about to start between the two .

"Ramon has a father whom I once saw lending money to the neighbors , he gives them a specific time to pay him back , I think if father borrows money from him and buys a washing machine for mom , when he gets a job , he will pay him back," she looked delighted with her idea.

"And what if father fails to get a job before the deadline?" Monica didn't agree with her . "It's so absurd ," she said .

"I think Monica is right." Meriya agreed with her . "What if he fails to get a job , that guy will start becoming a problem to us , we can not let that happen ."

"What do you think father ?" Nina asked .

"I will think about it, though it's the best idea we have so far ."

That evening still discussing about it , Fiona knocked on the door , when Monica asked who it was , she told them that it was her , the two girls got off from their seats and fought about who was to open the door something usually they don't like doing , both were excited to see their sister back home , and when she entered , she hugged them , went and sat down at the table with her parents , they told her what they were talking about , she told them about her vacation in La Calera and how exciting it was , asked them about any news about Manuel but no one knew anything about Manuel , after having a glass of water , she went upstairs to change and rest so as she could prepare for the next day where she was supposed to start looking for Manuel .

On a Friday morning, Monica didn't want her father to take her to school with Nina, she lied to the two that she had to pick her books from a classmate from her house , and that she would take another route on her way to school , Nina knew she was lying but decided to keep quite cause she knew if she said anything , Monica was to find a way to get back at her .

Walking down the street on their way to school , Miguel and Nina by passed a man who always moved with a small brown bag on his shoulders , always wore a black leather jacket , inside that jacket , he had another layer of a plaid shirt and with faded pair of blue jeans , the man was quite huge in size compared to Mr Miguel .
