A Tuesday at San Pedro university, Fiona couldn't get hold of Manuel for a night now , thought he would be at his job by now , went to the security room ,knocked the door and she was told to entered .

"Excuse me miss , hasn't Manuel reported yet ?" She asked the lady who worked with him inside the room monitoring the screens .

"Manuel ?"

"Yes Manuel , my cousin."

"I thought since he's your cousin , you should be knowing by now ."

"Know what ?"

"Manuel has resigned , he told me yesterday that he got a better paying job and he had no choice but to take it since his responsibilities had increased ."

"He resigned ?" Fiona looked shocked .

"Yes he did ."

"Thank you miss , I will take a leave now to make a call to him ."

Leaving the room ,Fiona tried to call him several times but the phone was switched off , left a voice message , an hour later , still there was no reply and then she later decided to give up since she had a class .

Getting to class , professor Fuentes told them they were to have their class that today at San Pedro hospital and they were to learn about Doctor-patient communication.

"Effective doctor-patient communication is a central clinical function in building a therapeutic doctor-patient relationship, which is the heart and art of medicine. This is important in the delivery of high-quality health care, much patient dissatisfaction and many complaints are due to breakdown in the doctor-patient relationship, however, many doctors tend to overestimate their ability in communication, over the years, much has been published in the literature on this important topic and now we will be reviewing the literature on doctor-patient communication. " Doctor Fuentes explained .

"Who would have thought that that could be medicine too ." Victor lamented .

"That's right Victor , who would have thought and on top of that ,you guys should know that a doctor's communication and interpersonal skills encompass the ability to gather information in order to facilitate accurate diagnosis, these core clinical skills can bring out the best outcomes and a patient can also get satisfied," the doctor continued .

" What if the patient is afraid? , she or he doesn't want to talk , what if the patient is so full of anxiety? ,what if the patient and I can not reach to the patient's expectations ?" Fiona asked .

"That's a good question Fiona , who can answer that ?"

"I think you can use the body language." Hurianah answered .

"That's also right Hurianah and how did you come to know that ?"

"Yeah right ,she's a dean's daughter ." Natalia mocked her.

"And when did that start being my fault ?" Huria defended herself from her .

"Okay ladies , before you can start a fight," the doctor had to calm them down. " I want you to know that its true , some patients are full of anxiety and fear ,sometimes it's also a burden of work for doctors ,there is a fear of litigation and a fear of physical or verbal abuse between the doctor and the patient , but as doctor ,we have to endure all that ."

As he was talking to them throughout the hallway , he took them to a ward where there was an 8yr old girl who kept on vomiting and her mother didn't know what was wrong with her ,doctor Fuentes promised good marks to any student who manages to get the right answer from the girl about what exactly made her vomit a lot ,the girl couldn't not talk to anyone about it, not even her mother .
