Rios was appointed a public defender as soon as he reached jail , when the public defender looked through his file and saw a list of the charges against him , attempted murder of two lawyers and hiding of evidence in Manuel's case , the public defender told him that it all points at him , there was no way he could escape it except pleading guilty in order to reduce his sentence .Rios thought about it, realized he had nothing to lose then agreed to plead guilty .

When time came inside the court room after hearing from both sides , the judge read the charges against him and asked him how he pleads .

"Not guilty your honor ." He replied after thinking about what the lawyer told him which wasn't convincing enough for him to plead guilty , couldn't see a chance for him to get out soon .

"What are you doing ?" His public defender was shocked with what he was doing , asked him to think again but he insisted that he was not guilty .

The judge postponed the hearing in two months to come .Rios was given a remand ,he had to be in jail for the rest of the two months till the next hearing .

Leaving the court house , in the hallway . Felipe met with Rios's public defender and asked him if he could talk to Rios , maybe he could convince him to plead guilty .

"I don't know if you can do that , all I can say is that he's all yours , this client is a nut case , he knows he's in wrong but still wants to see himself as a saint , he's all yours , go talk to him ." He continued on his way out as Felipe headed to jail to meet with Rios .

"Listen to me Rios." He showed him a seat as he was brought in in the visitor's room . "Am here for your best interest, am asking you not to speak to anyone especially with the police officials about your arrest except with the lawyers that come to you . I'm asking you to do so because I know you're curious about knowing the status of Baragan and you really want to talk to him probably thinking he can save you , what I can tell you is that Baragan is under arrest too , if you don't believe me you will meet him in jail , enough evidence has been gathered against both of you two , if you try to deny the charges ,both of you will be convicted dearly ,you're both cornered so to make things easier, just plead guilty ,this will be of your benefit , you will be sentenced for a shorter period and your godson will be free . I don't think you have this great resentment towards him that you would ruin his future ." He tried to convince him .

"Listen to me attorney . I don't give a damn about my godson , he can rot in hell as much as he wants ,even if I am here in jail with Baragan , that won't change my testimony ."

"I don't understand this stupid loyalty you're offering to this man , but am sure in one way or another , he has once let you down . I will give you time to think about before the next hearing ,probably he could be the one who ends your life in prison , think about it Rios , your loyalty to men like Baragan is worthless ." He got up to leave disappointed in him , thought telling him about Baragan would change his mind but the man wasn't ready to plead guilty .

Having failed to convince Rios to accept the charges . Felipe thought he had to be tough on the man in order to get Manuel out of prison ,there was no way he could let any of the two get out of jail, thinking again about Baragan , thought of the reasons why he was in jail , then Baragan's wife came into his mind , she was one of the reason why he was locked up .

"Should have thought about this earlier . Baragan's wife is the only key to Manuel's freedom." He improvised .

Pamela Luise had a visit from her daughter before she could be discharged from the hospital , her daughter was worried about what they were going to do now that her father was going to prison , she felt like it was all her fault that her father was in jail , her mother told her not to blame herself , it was her father's fault , he was the one who acted aggressively towards her .
