The Girl.

A month later , Nina started appearing on television shows , whenever she was on TV , she never forgot to mention the people from her neighbourhood in Uzme Bogota , her audience loved it whenever she talked about where she comes from , to them , she'd become a star who knows the genesis of her life well , someone to look forward to if one wants to be something in life .

Not only Nina was to appear on television , her sister Fiona also received an invitation from John the journalist for a presentation from her about her story , John had made a documentary about the story of her life , whoever among the public watched the documentary was touched and they were all awaiting for a speech from the girl in the story , Fiona was asked to also invite everyone close to her , whoever she felt had done great to a revolution in her life.

On the day of her presentation ,everyone from her house , Manuel , her classmates and her professors dressed up in their best , at the conference hall on a red carpet , everyone starting arriving and on seeing one another after a month ,it was thrilling , Connie and Rodrigo had also heard about the event , they couldn't stay in the United States to miss a wonderful moment in Fiona's life , they flown back to Bogota to be witnesses of the moment , Fuentes who had regained his position at the university was present too , Alfonso with his girlfriend doctor Caroline , Ms Glades and her husband Alejandro, Christian in his lonely seat looked on , Victor and Hurianah were smiling endlessly , Natalia who had gone back to the father of her daughter was also around with her family , colonel Alzate and his wife doctor Tatiana with father Rivas with them , grandma Theresa and her grandson Ramon , Nina a television star and her sister Monica couldn't stop arguing about the seats , Ms Meriya with her son in her hands and her husband besides her were all present to watch the documentary.

Before the documentary could start , John asked Fiona to step forward and give a speech about the documentary , she knew the story better than anyone , Fiona was nervous because she'd never spoken before a large crowd but Manuel gave her the confidence and told her she could do it .

"Good afternoon everyone here." She managed to get herself behind a microphone. " Well , first I'd like to thank you for showing up here at this wonderful event of ours ,the story you're about to watch , it all started when I was seven , back then I had to defend my little brother who had a problem with his health , the guerrillas wanted to take him to join them , I told them about my brother's situation and asked them to take me instead , I had to do whatever I could to protect my brother simply because that was what my mother had taught me , life in the jungle is never easy , it's tough out there , we were tortured as a way of getting the best militias out of us , girls faced risks of being raped , whenever you tried to escape , that's committing suicide , fortunately I managed to make it out there when I was sent to a mission with some of my comrades in Ciudad bolivar , I got arrested , taken to an Orphanage, but my comrades never stopped looking for me , the commander of the guerrillas wanted me back , thanks to colonel Alzate ,doctor Tatiana and father Rivas who protected me while was still under the project , these people have taught me that there is life after death , not to forget my boyfriend Manuel , he has always been around to support me , he's quite a patient guy you know , not to forget Victor my first best friend and a great classmate , nothing I could do without him during my first days in Uzme , Hurianah my first female friend , I've learnt a lot from her on how a normal girl should behave , Santiago who is no longer with us because of his little stubbornness . Natalia , Natalia , Natalia , I've come to know a lot from you about some girls that I didn't know , you just remind me of Monica my second young sister , the two of you deserve each other." She laughed . " I'd like to continue by thanking doctor Alfonso for being so supportive , that goes for you doctor Sylvia , Fuentes , Anderson , Rodrigo and Constanza , you've been wonderful professors to me , you've shown me that I can be the doctor I want to be , see now ,just in week's time , am going to become a qualified doctor . Ms Glades and your husband , you might have been late in my life but you've made a great impact and most of all ,oh Nina my youngest sister , by the way she's a star now on TV ." The audience laughed with her . "Am proud of you Nina and guys I can not leave out my parents , you two never gave up on looking for your eldest child , am really glad that am back into your lives , and thank you for always taking care of me , thank you everyone ,thank you to those whose names I can not remember right now , you're all a blessing to me , I've found love again , now I know there is life after war , thank you." She had to finish her speech , handed the microphone back to John and stepped off stage to join her mother in the audience .

"Is the film over ?" Her mother asked when she saw everyone was applauding her for her speech .

"Mother !, that was just my speech , the film hasn't started yet ." Fiona smiled as John on stage turn on the projector to start the documentary.
