"Father, I have something to ask of you.."
"Yes...?" Mr Feng, walked into his office in his restaurant to take Qing's call. The man on the other side of the phone sounded very serious. And his heart began thumping loudly.
"I know, it's probably too sudden..And you would probably think that I'm crazy..But I really want to do this here in Goderich." Qing gulped and pressed on, "and I really am sorry, father, for doing this over the phone..Still...I didn't have a choice..I have to move quickly....."
Mr Feng, closed the door, and inhaled and exhaled to get his nerves under control. He had a feeling that he's about to hear something really great.
"Okay..Please continue.." He said, after he got his breathing got a little normal.
"Uhm..I want to ask for your blessing..Father.." Qing steadied himself because he was suddenly swaying on his feet, feeling a surge of nervousness that he hadn't expected. When he called Dayu's father earlier, he thought he was calm. As the conversation progressed however, he began feeling the nerve more and more.
Qing felt guilty, doing this over the phone. He was supposed to do this face to face like a respectable gentleman. Instead here he is, on the phone with his father in law. Future father in law. Though, it's not because he didn't want to meet him and ask him in person. It's just that didn't have the time.
